A 20-year-old man who created a joke meme on Facebook called “Storm Area 51” to “see them aliens” now fears mass slaughter as nearly 2 million people sign up to raid the Air Force property, overwhelming the training facility’s security contingent. Are all these people in on the joke, or will they really show up and “Naruto run” onto the base in order to dodge the bullets?

I don’t think it will be the runners so much as the people who see how far it is and then decide to drive in. Hit this line with the microwave weapon and you have a group of either partially-shielded drivers from the metal structure of the vehicles, or panicked screaming drivers doing 180’s and either flipping the vehicles, slamming into each other, or running over the people on foot behind them that are invisible and blind due to the dust kicked up by the vehicles. Or just curling up in panic and driving forward because they let go of the wheel.
I suspect EMP kill systems for the vehicles would help a lot. Anyone still going forward on a bike or something would get hit by the microwave weapon as a secondary attack.
Let’s see… gerbils, knockout game, Tide Pods, ice cream licking… yeah, this is going to happen. Pass the pop corn, please.
Scott I just watch “How much time debt” and your statement that we the voter are the ones who vote in the people is so true. But how we choose who we vote for can be influenced by so many things and they are different for each person I donβt know how you fix that problem. You pay your money (vote) and take your chances. Win some loose some and that life. The only ones I trust are you and I and I sometimes wonder about you.
That makes two of us. I wonder about me too.
The only problem that the originator of this effort is that he underestimated the power of human stupidity. NEVER underestimate the power of human stupidity.
That being said, I’m pretty sure that over 90% of the people that signed up for the event did it as a joke. But the last 10%…
Area 51 is a sanctuary for illegal aliens.
Those planning on storming it are, therefore, by definition xenophobes.
I would sure like to have a camera set up just to watch these idiots try to breach the site. π
I’ve been to Area 51 – at least to that very threatening sign shown in the picture. Even took a picture… Past the sign, the terrain rises, small hill or ridge, blocking view of anything. There are trucks patrolling the hillside, I’m sure they’ll have more for this occasion! If you start to trespass, which I didn’t, the truck will come down to head you off, or if necessary interrogate you. The hill is probably a mile off, gentle climb for desert dwellers, but I just can’t see anyone doing this in the dead of night (3 am?), desert dark… There are plenty of predators in the desert, snakes, scorpions, coyotes, just to name the obvious.
Presumably, over the hill the actual buildings would be miles away. Area 51 is a very large area of land. Lots of land in the desert…
Do I need to mention the desert is dry. I fear if anyone attempts this they’ll succumb to dehydration and/or heat stroke (if the altercation lasts into the noon hours). Do you know how close Death Valley is to Nevada! This is not a walk in the park…
And I’m sure the AF will be prepared for the worst, hope to execute the best deterrent…
From the perimeter to the actual building is miles through the desert.
Even land that used to overlook the base has been incorporated into the base area. You’ll just end up with a bunch of people with heat stroke stranded in the desert.
You only have to look to the antics of Antifa to realize what dangerous stupidity the rad left is capable of!
I’ve never been to Area 51 before, but I have been inside high-security military sectors and have a pretty good idea how they’d have Area 51 secured. It doesn’t really matter how many folks show up. If they somehow make it thru the first defensive layer, when they watch the first 40-50 trespassers mowed down with automatic weapons fire, the rest of ’em will lose interest really fast. And if anyone doesn’t think the base personnel won’t shoot them, my prayers are with their families.
If the Air Force actually uses that micro-wave gun, the one that makes you feel like you’re on fire even though it does no real or permanent damage, that will stop anyone who makes it past the tear gas. Stop ’em cold. Fire has alway been a fantastic way to control people. Humans respond really well to the threat of being on fire.
That said, last I heard the DoD decided not to move forward w/ the project as the PR about their new “Death Ray” was really bad. And there was some question re; if the thing complied w/ the Geneva Convention.
Because we all know that when the DoD says they are not doing something, we should totally believe them. π
This could be a good testing ground for mob control weapons. I wonder what they do have.
Exactly Bill, if anyone is killed or injured in this stupidity it will be as a last resort or more likely at there own hand for being stupid in the desert. The people in charge of security at Area 51 are not poorly trained mall cops stood up to get in the way of protesters, and it is not like there is a nice wide 8 lane highway for the air conditioned car to drive right up to the hanger where the flying saucers are.
My guess is that at the end of all of it there will be a lot of hot, tired, sunburned, thirsty, blue haired, nose ringed, Autumns and Blake’s wondering around like zombies in the parched desert that the government will need to rescue. The only way people will get through even the 1st lines of defense is if the government lets it happen, and IMHO that would be a very bad precedent to set in our overindulged society.
