The strongest tool for survival is mindset. When things look really bad, the survivor is focused on the things that he can change and the elements that will help him change them. Once doubt and second-guessing penetrate the core of his being, a victim of circumstance is simply waiting for help or death.
By the time the Obama healthcare take over hit this nation we had already heard of its imminent arrival for years. We had been doused with it in news and cultural material. Politicians had praised it or spoken of its dangers. When it arrived it was at least as detrimental as the doubters proclaimed and nothing like the saving grace that proponents claimed it would be. It was costly, clumsy, inefficient and intrusive.
That was the environment. That was the challenge. Tea Party members, Conservatives, and Libertarians vowed to elect whomever it took to disassemble the monstrosity…And then did nothing when those that they elected failed to even try. So, they slept. Tea Party members, Conservatives, and Libertarians hibernated under a cozy cover of social media activities. They slumbered in the whisper soft echo chambers that no other could enter, nor was there any reason to enter these. There was in-fighting, jockeying for power, backstabbing, throwing one another to the liberal wolves in those (not-so) echo chambers.
The focus was not on survival and making those things happen which we truly needed. The focus was getting a person into office…So that we could hibernate again.
The same thing has happened in this broken election. We are seeing the message of hopelessness and surrender crop up in some conservatives. Others sit as mere spectators on the sideline of American governance waiting for Trump to man handle the entirety of American communism on his own. Again, we do the least effective thing. Again, we sit and wait.
We thought that a great politician was coming to rescue us. We thought that we could rest while our nation slid into the abyss. That is exactly why so many Conservatives did just that. Perhaps the alarm bells of Trump entering the political scene woke us. One could make that case. On closer examination, though, we are a people prone to looking for a John Wayne with Superman Syndrome to do all of that patriotic work while we go to work and manicure our lawns. Hot dogs on the Fourth of July and thank the guy or gal in uniform and the golden age of our Republic lives again. Wrong.
We cannot survive settling into the comfortable sleep of ignorance. We cannot settle for half measures on liberal owned social media sites. Those are the illusion of coordinated focus. They are the delirious dream of a survivor beyond his wits. They are controlled by those that hate our message. They are ignored by those that deliver the cultural message du jour. They are missed by the intended target.
The antagonists board our social media ships and set aflame the comment section. They scuttle the cohesion. Then, they cut away the rudder by bringing up extraneuos nonsense and lies. And we, like hopeless victims, cling to the sinking wreckage while it vanishes into hopeless obscurity.
“But what can we do?” you ask?
The first thing to do in a survival situation is get your bearings. So, where are we?
We are at least thirty years into a leftist-globalist sprint. We are under economic siege by China. We are despised by the media elites. We are detestable to the tech giants. We are an annoyance to the arrogant left of Europe and the U.K. Most of all, we are vilified (in every sense of that word) by the leftists in power and next door.
Now that we know that, what can we do?
Well, the next thing we do in a survival situation is get rid of any unnecessary risks or burdens.
In other words, let’s put away the infighting for a while. Please. Can we put aside the Know-it-all shuffle until we have a free country again? Bashing another Conservative on the internet or television does not come across as erudite or insightful. It looks like an open door to cause destruction for the left. It sounds like utter confusion to Conservatives that want a compass bearing to follow toward hope. Throw off the extra weight of needless aggression. Focus on the fight we face with those killing our freedom.
Next? Put to use any tools that you have. Inventory your repertoire of skills and knowledge. If you do not know much about the Constitution, do not get involved in an argument with leftists who twist its meaning and purpose. Speak or write from your inventory of skills and knowledge. Can you design clothing, web pages, logos? Do so for the cause. Why not? Don’t the so called progressives do this to great effect? Why should we not do the same? Use the tools you have and know. If you feel that you have none, gain them. Learn, persevere, master those tools necessary to the cause of freedom.
Then, we must choose our course, mindful of the need to make slight changes, we must push through until we extricate ourselves from this moment of carnage. The fickle and the weak, those who tremble to their very bowels at the thought of being different in the eyes of the modern culture will steer a million courses within a city block. Their dreams are altered by a song or a movie every weeks or so. The survivor, however, steers his course guided by something higher than cultural winds. He fixes his eyes on the heading of freedom, independence and truth. He lives through the vicissitudes of popular opinion with his focus and drive intact.
I hope that we survive. It would be a shame to lose a perfectly good nation because we could not be roused from our comfortable echo chambers and Facebook pages.

Very well put, I’ve always stood out from the crowd and couldn’t care less what other people think. I think that there are too many cowards in the republican party and in the media. They can’t all really believe what the tele- promter tell’s them to say,can they?
Honesty builds broad shoulders. Dishonesty builds weak minds.
Aside from being a catchy phrase on a fortune cookie, it is true. You have the shoulders to bear the truth because you realize that fearing truth does not remove it. Over time that creates the emotional steel, the intellectual durability to withstand hard truths. That’s what really gets under the skin of the left wing culture moguls.
When people accept lies long enough, they do begin to believe them. They soften in the sugar coated diet of happy-jolly, feel-good nonsense. There is little to be done for some of those people. They are utterly unaccustomed to the real world. Quite literally, they do not know the world outside of their Disney-fied, ain’t life grand, hug-a-tree envelope.
They make great pets for the elites.
“A LIE, TOLD OFTEN ENOUGH, BECOMES THE TRUTH” is a quote from STALIN if I’m not mistaken. I think that phrase fits perfectly with all of these “progressive” morons that we’re forced to share this planet with. The truth doesn’t fit -in with their belief systems. You do not have a right to not be offended! Grow up, move out of your parent’s house and join the real world.
Very well said!
