The New York Times quotes former hostages of the Taliban, Iran and Somali pirates, saying they received a toothbrush, soap and blankets from their terrorist captors to highlight allegations that the U.S. Customs and Border Protection detention facilities don’t provide these basic hygiene items to migrant detainees…including children. Will “At least the Taliban gave me a toothbrush” become the latest battle cry in the movement to improve treatment of illegal aliens?

What the left wants is the detention centers razed and the borders opened. problem solved.
Try this one. Bring the U.S. C&BP up on charges of ‘aiding and abetting the enemy.’
Bill, these complaints aren’t originating with the parents of these children in detention centers. They coming from those who want to smear President Trump. Damned if he does, damned if he doesn’t.
The Democrats in control of places like LA are an aristocracy that is living off the peasants whom they could care less about.
I fought fires in the late 70’s with the US Forest Service and these illegal migrants are being treated a lot better than many of the government provided fire camps we were housed in. I remember one fire in Arizona where we “slept” in crushed glass on the ground at the local city dump (120* in the shade), were given recycled paper sleeping bags, and fed meals that had been frozen since 1963 (this was in 1977). I was rushed to the ER (along with several others) for food poisoning from what we were fed at another fire in Colorado. MRE’s were a step up from the food we were given in a lot of places. If you think they gave us toothbrushes – on ANY of the fires we were called to – you’re quite mistaken, and we were often gone from home for months at a time being housed and “cared for” by your tax dollars. None of us expected the government to be responsible for our personal hygiene.
Wring your hands about the illegals AFTER we take care of the homeless Americans. Who are living in far less sanitary and safe conditions than the illegals in detention.
I assume that any are free to go back to their country of origin at any point if they choose? I don’t know if the expectation was they were going to be put up at the Hilton or what, but going without soap and a toothbrush for a month or so given the circumstances does not seem the least bit cruel to me. I am betting most of these children have NEVER had a toothbrush of their own. Democrats and the media need everything to be end of the world level disaster or they have nothing to talk about and are forgotten about. This is NOT a real problem no matter how “good” we think we are.
