Attorney General Merrick Garland orders the FBI to launch a domestic terrorism probe in the wake of a series of parental protests at school board meetings over critical race theory curriculum in public schools. Garland got goaded into this by a National School Boards Association request to the Biden administration. What’s the true threat here?

I found steve’s comment that for the MOST part, parents are “happy” with their child’s school. HOW? specifically is that possible? 1) CRT 2) LOWERED Standards 3) 1619 Project 4) dismal National Test scores 5) “wokeness” not just with teachers BUT also administrators 7) the 3 two day Suspensions of a HS student who CHOOSES NOT to wear the Mask 8) Indoctrination through Propaganda to create Activists for the “fundamental transformation of America 9) “STUPID is Stupid” as all inclusive 10) promotion of BLM (Marxists and ANTIFA (“FASCISTIC Socialists”/AMERICAN MARXISM
Isn’t the FBI only supposed to get involved with activity that crosses state lines? Why would they have any jurisdiction AT ALL in local school boards? This makes me want to go to school board meetings even though my kids are way past school age. And perhaps even run for school board….
One thing I see missing in these school board meetings is they should canvass the board members and individually ask them when their term is up. Each of them. And let them know what that means to those in the audience. And then band together to get them out. Can they be recalled? Find out.
What is particularly egregious about Garland’s actions is that when BLM, Antifa, loot, burn, commit the odd rape and murder, while destroying entire cities, Garland and the FBI completely ignore those true domestic terrorists while accusing parents who are seeking a good education for their children of being DTs. In taking this action, Garland himself has a serious conflict on interest https://nypost.com/2021/10/06/parents-group-garland-has-conflict-of-interest-with-facebook/ Based on his actions, Garland is a cheap political hack who should be removed from office.

You’ve just described 97.6% of the federal bureaucracy…
interesting photo considering the vast majority of the angry mob of ‘parents’..are mothers not fathers.
Hello, fellow members. How do I get to the backstage video on this topic? Thanks. 👊
One way would be mousing over the “Shows” item in the menu at the top, go to Right Angle and then clicking the “Backstage” flyout, or just clicking the Right Angle menu to see all of these plus the Backstage Episodes.
The guys usually record on Tuesday morning with the Backstage being available sometime that evening or Wed morning with the usual episodes posting once per day.

If the FBI does get involved maybe they should be looking at the school board members instead of the parents because the only violence I have read about is where one SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER threw a brick through the window of another SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER.
I’m of mixed mind about this one.
IF there’s nothing more spurring this on than some angry parents following the rules at school board meetings and zero threat of anyone being illegally menaced by parents in a manner that falls under terrorist statutes in Federal Jurisdiction …
THEN the FBI has no jurisdiction in the first place and Merrick Garland has overstepped his authority.
SO Garland, the Dept. of Justice and anyone who follows an unlawful extrajurisdictional order is breaking the law themselves.
BUT they get away with it because right now neither the government nor the media will take them to task for this kind of thing.
That doesn’t make it right but the exercise of power is badly and rapidly drifting away from what in America has traditionally been considered right rather than wrong …
The FBI only has jurisdiction in Federal matters. Which include interstate issues to bridge juridictions between state boundaries, the creation of mass effect weapons, malfeasance by any Law Enforcement Agency, things like that. The FBI is not meant to function as America’s Secret Police and we need to be very vigilant to keep that from happening, or in the present situation keep it from getting worse.
Bill says above that if there were an actual real-world justification for this “parents as domestic terrorists” stance then it would be getting splashed all over the news. That’s not necessarily true. The FBI does not as a rule broadcast its punches. The problem there is that we won’t actually know if someone has done something stupid until they’re arrested. If they’re not arrested then we probably won’t ever know what’s going on without a Congressional hearing. Even then, I’m noticing a lot of “I’m not going to discuss confidential matters in an open hearing” coming from people called to account before Congress.
All of this makes it exceedingly difficult to grasp the situation. Because if someone has done something that actually qualifies as real terrorism and we don’t know who did it or what the act was, we can’t condemn it properly the way it should be condemned. We instead come out looking like we’re siding with terrorists when the arrests are eventually made and the charges publicized.
So I’d like to know more about how Merrick Garland justifies involving the FBI in this issue. He can’t just tell the FBI to go out and start arresting people without probable cause. OK, he can try to do that but it won’t hold up in the courts and that’s really where the rub comes in for this kind of thing. When that fails in the courts it’s a serious bloody nose for their side.
Temperatures are running high and that means a lot of hot-headed people, which the conservative ideology certainly has no lack of, are doing a lot of hot-headed stupid things because they’re talking themselves into a “state of war” mindset.
Yes, we are literally at war with Leftist ideology. No, that does not mean you can dig out your cammies, web gear and weapons to start living out the hero’s role of a movie playing only in your own mind. It’s not that kind of war, yet.
In the last little over a week I’ve seen people advocating some pretty damn stupid crap.
I’ve seen someone who thought that pulling his mask down to his chin on an airplane, admitting he will pull it back up if asked to, take on the mantle of “hero of the resistance” and go from that minor act of sneaky rebellion to advocating “burning, killing and looting” because “Hey, the bad guys do it so why shouldn’t we?”
That’s sheer stupidity in full bloom on public display.
I’ve seen someone openly advocating breaking Federal Laws trying to contact criminals who could provide criminal services to him because that person felt somehow that painting a target on his back was a great idea and an effective means of fighting back. It’s not, you don’t win anything by giving your adversary exactly what he wants by putting yourself completely in his power.
That’s like hitting someone in the fist with your face and expecting to win a brawl. Right now our enemies are searching diligently for that sort of thing to both suppress the counter-narrative and to use as ammunition against the rest of us who are not doing such stupid things. (Incidentally he didn’t care even a little bit if this kind of idiocy took a whole lot of other people down with him.)
Don’t think for a minute that what you say here, at PJ, the Daily Wire or behind any other pay wall are not subject to scrutiny. That’s the most dangerous kind of naĂŻvetĂ©.
Etc. I realize that much of this garbage is just that. It’s garbage talk that won’t amount to any real action and just hot-heads blowing off steam. But you can get burned by steam the same as by fire.
So while I’m completely averse to the FBI poking its nose into things that are extrajurisdictional to that agency, I’m seeing a fair amount of hot-headed stupidity that plays right into the hands of Leftist dominance of our political system too.
If you’re helping the enemy, you are the enemy.
Like the January 6th “insurrection”, which was nothing more than a few people who got carried away and damaged some property while trespassing. Far, far less than the other side’s “summer of love”, burning, killing and looting. The other side will ride a horse like that for every ounce of propaganda they can gin up to scare the already excessively timid and generate support for their agenda. That was a stupid thing for those people to do. They played right into the hands of the opposition in doing that. It allowed them to for all practical purposes seize the capital of the United States of America and put it under martial jurisdiction. With armed troops in the streets of the national capital.
The juice from that one was not only not worth the squeeze, they were trying to squeeze lemons to get orange juice.
When you do those things, you play right into their hands. You’re not helping our side, you’re helping theirs. You are for all practical purposes charging blindly across a mine field and when you get yourself blown up the enemy camp will crow and point at your remains as evidence you’re trying to attack them. Well, duh, you are trying to attack them but an effective attack does not entail you showering shredded pieces of yourself on their heads. That’s not going to win any battles.
All of that said, I’m not saying you shouldn’t be angry. You should. I’m not saying you shouldn’t take action. You absolutely should do that too. What I’m saying is to make sure you’ve got all the facts and then when you think you have them, check again. Once that’s done, be smart about what you’re going to do. Blundering into an enemy minefield all fired up with righteous outrage is not a tactic that wins battles. Your anger is justified, your rash acts and speech are not.
I saw Sean Hannity interview Newt Gingrich a couple nights ago. Newt was maintaining that the Left is playing with fire. They are most certainly doing that. What we need to do is help them find ways to burn themselves without burning our own fingers in the process.
In this case of parents being branded as potential domestic terrorists –
There are very specific Federal Statutes that define what is and is not Terrorism. I.E. the “1989 Biological Weapons Anti-Terrorism Act” spells out specifically what constitutes terrorism by the use of bio-weapons. I’m sure that there are statutes that apply here, either for considering something an act of terrorism or defining what fails to meet that standard. But I’m not a lawyer. So Fox News, The Daily Wire or some other private entity that does have such lawyers needs to look into this to see if what Merrick Garland is calling terrorism has some statutory basis or if he’s just blowing smoke out his ass. Then call him on it if that’s what he’s doing.
If you have a membership at a place which might have such lawyers you should be contacting them to inquire if they’re looking into this along those lines.
Demand of your Congressmen and Senators that the DOJ produce a statutory justification for calling parents domestic terrorists, too. If you can get an answer from them, which is admittedly hard to do, then make sure where ever you’re following this gets a copy of the reply.
Fight smart.
I think there could be an inter-state conspiracy but that is highly unlikely. If there were and the FBI believed there were, they would not be publicly announcing their intentions to chase down those conspirators, as you pointed out.
The few cases where national media figures spoke at board meetings might be nice for their own ratings but unless explicity invited as an expert witness by someone local it probably doesn’t help. We won’t be able to convince most of these board members that their ideas are bad, but we can make them realize this is a bad time and way to implement them.
It is coming…I do not relish it…but it is coming. Listen to “Silent Running” by Mike and The Mechanics.”
Uncanny how relevant that song is today:
Lyrics:
Take the children and yourself
And hide out in the cellar
By now the fighting will be close at hand
Don’t believe the church and state
And everything they tell you
Believe in me, I’m with the high command
Can you hear me, can you hear me running?
Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you?
Can you hear me, can you hear me running?
Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you?
There’s a gun and ammunition
Just inside the doorway
Use it only in emergency
Better you should pray to God
The Father and the Spirit
Will guide you and protect from up here
Can you hear me, can you hear me running?
Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you?
Can you hear me, can you hear me running?
Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you?
Swear allegiance to the flag
Whatever flag they offer
Never hint at what you really feel
Teach the children quietly
For some day sons and daughters
Will rise up and fight while we stood still
Can you hear me, can you hear me running?
Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you?
Can you hear me, can you hear me running?
Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you?
Can you hear me, can you hear me running?
Can you hear me running, can you hear me calling you?
Can you hear me running (can you hear me calling you?)
(Can you hear me) hear me calling you?
(Can you hear me running) hear me running babe?
(Can you hear me running) hear me running?
Calling you, calling you

Yes, it is coming.
As the administration has now interjected the DOJ/FBI into the process of monitoring school board meetings does this not set the precedence for initially establishing a government run educational system in the USA???
This in my view is a slow step for eventual control of all aspects of the lives of citizens controlled by the government.
God help our grandchildren.
The ones that were harassing Sinema do NOT have a place where what they were doing is legal: they are illegal aliens. It’s not their government. They don’t have the right to petition it for redress of grievances. They don’t even have the right to be present there.
As if there aren’t LEO’s present at every single School Board meeting…
How about doing away with the school boards altogether?
There is no delegated authority for a dept. of education.
Why not get rid of the teachers unions, the source of all things bad happening in schools?
Having lived directly across the street from an elementary school playground, working from home was a reminder of the sounds that the kids make (demonic possession, being run through a meet grinder), and also the lack of thought from the P.E. teachers. What kind teacher decides that teaching kindergartners The Macarana every… single…. day…?
Teachers are nothing but brain dead cowards seeking to corrupt other peoples’ kids using tax dollars.
The federal government is acting like a cancerous growth. It is sucking the resources from our republic and spreading it’s cancerous cells to the rest of the body.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. We are at war with a communist, globalist establishment led by the Democrats and supported by the RINO’s who ignore it as controlled opposition all backed by the unelected, unaccountable deep state (including the intel community) and supported by a network of NGO’s who operate globally (current giving orders to our border patrol) under the guise of saving humanity by protecting human rights and rescuing…everyone say it with me now…”the children” (be sure to clasp your hands together and gaze longingly and mournfully skyward with a look of distress on your face as you utter those last two words, pretending that little children bits are being sprinkled on their tragedy sundae).
Note: Credit where credit is due. I plagiarized the children bits part from The Amazing Atheist. Would use something better if I could come up with it.
I really can’t keep with the absurdities enacted by what amounts to an unelected government, happening on a daily basis it seems. I think Bill should have stressed the point that the group stalking Sinema is made up of illegal aliens. As far as I can determine the parents speaking up against CRT at school board meetings are legitimate citizens with all the rights guaranteed by the Constitution. Did I miss the report that this Lucha group is also under the scrutiny of the FBI?
If we are to be declared terrorists, then we may as well strive to do our best. One should always take pride in one’s work and do to the best of one’s abilities.
So if you’re blm and riot, kill and burn down government buildings and it’s just a peaceful protest. But if you oppose your kid getting indoctrinated you’re a terrorist. We’re literally living in psycho land.
There is credible evidence out there (Tucker Carlson, e.g.) that U. S. Attorney General Garland’s son-in-law has significant financial interests in a firm that is making huge profits from backing critical race theory crap in our schools.
Seriously, Bill. At this point, have you considered becoming a Russian citizen instead?
If parents have a problem with anyone in the eductaion system, the proper way to do that is to follow them into bathrooms with cameras or stalk them at airports and on planes.
Just kidding, that gets us Normals arrested and called insurrectionists. Hire a few illegal aliens to do the job for you instead
