The best thing any president can do, once out of politics is to SHUT UP. Anybody who has been in that job has to appreciate how hard that job is, and realize that the last thing a president needs is a previous president second guessing everything he does. Carter was terrible about this, and Clinton and Obama as well. But the Bushes, Reagan, Nixon, and ALL the R’s have pretty much treated this as their obligation to the current president. I like that one thing about them all. The D’s need to learn this, and just shut it.
Reference our presidents “retiring from politics”: we should not forget that (I believe it was) Taft who became a SCOTUS justice after his presidency and JQ Adams who went (back?) into the House after his.
And on the immigration issue: I don’t understand why the Republicans don’t emphasize at every opportunity the issue is not immigration, but illegal immigration. And that maybe those who were here legally and then overstayed their visas might be considered even more reprehensible than those who “honestly” snuck over the border.
“… because of the economy … because of the war …”
Because of the non-stop attacks by the sons of bitches in the media…
From what I understand, one reason the Finns keep showing up on top is that … you mentioned they’re known for being stoic … is that it is socially embarrassing to them to admit when they are unhappy. It’s actually built in to the culture there. I read a story on this a few years ago.
“Stop the hammering!!!!”
The RINO needs to go to the way of the dinosaur.
GWB lost me with the strong arming of businesses. I’m not a fan of the Patriot Act either. Yeah…I’m just not a fan of GWB. At least his treatment of Trump wasn’t bad…Oh, wait.
Hey Scott…IDK if you’re aware, but the latest Moving Back to America isn’t here or on Rumble. Only on BlueTube.
Steve: A small ‘L’ republican form of government? (At the 9:00 mark).
I wondered about that myself. I don’t have any idea what that creature is.
Missed that. He must have confused when he calls himself a small L libertarian, and small government republic. Good catch. You win the listening medal for today.
You’ve been…
I thought the guys were very forgiving of Dubya. I detest the Bush Family, especially since they could come out and attack Trump while not saying a damn word about Obama and how he single handedly tried to erode the strength of our country.
Two things turned me off of GWB a long time ago:
It has taken many whacks of the 2×4 upside my head, over the years, for me to reduce my estimation of GWB, but #3 is one really naïve (or perhaps corrupt?) signal:
#3 “religion of peace”
I suppose I could add as #4 his unwillingness to push harder for privatizing social security back when it was a lot easier to do than it will be now.
Yup. That has been a horrific lie about Islam perpetuated to this day by two distinct groups of people:
There is no peace. There is only subjugation of those who will not oppose it and death for those who will.
Social Security was Bernie Madoff’s wet dream. It’s interesting that he shared the same first name as one political scam artist who recently ran as a Democrat Presidential candidate. If Madoff had been a Democrat politician, then perhaps he would’ve been exempt from prosecution.
I’ve always seen W as a “one of us” kind of guy, even while in office. He hasn’t changed a bit. Had Bill ‘n Hill use my hanger in Budapest in 1995. Found out later that was when she made deals with Russia for our uranium. Bill is ok, Hill is a total waste of personhood.
As to whom I’d like to have a beer withs, Bush and Trump. The slut doing the inter view just couldn’t refrain from taking more cheap shots at Trump. She is deranged over him.
Trump tried as hard as any other past prez to attain some minimal sort of control over our border with Mexico, and as with so many others, got more crap than assistance from Congress. They ALL talk a good fight, but when it comes to rubber meeting road, they all skid off.
Trump’s biggest problem, far and above all others, is his NYC attitude. I’ve met many others from the city, and it seems to be part of their make up. You’ve seen it in movies, too, and in actors from NYC, and they ALL have that attitude. It comes with the territory.
I believe wholeheartedly that with out our biased media Clinton, Bush, 0bama, Trump and now Biden would ALL be perceived more positive by the public. Our leftist media, like all other things ‘left,’ destroys everything they touch, look at, speak to, or in any other way contact.
Agree with you completely. My only comment on Dubya was that he was mediocre: Better than the alternatives who were running against him, but far from the ideal President.
Your second paragraph is really on the mark. The media are the main problem, not just with political candidates but also with all the issues, whether it’s climate change, race relations, policing or whatever. They are responsible for all the hysteria in society, right down to the fear-mongering that resulted in store shelves that had been picked clean of toilet paper and so much else last year. The challenge is how to get a more responsible media without completely trashing the 1st Amendment.
Es, the usual there’s always something else to blame. Sure, media suck bigtime. I even allowed some excuse in the time period it was mostly news.
We have that saying, “Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.” And how about hundreds of times on daily basis?
Thunder round…complete with sounds of hammering thunder in the background of Steve’s audio 🙂
He doesn’t even think like this but the title of the book is like a kick in the side
to stupid Al Gore who had the national motto reversed and famously said ‘Out of one many’
WRT how the presidency ages you, I always found these dates of birth to be interesting.
.
Well, the two on the left really are fully or sorta “on the left”, right?
Turns out my wife is a few days younger than Bill, and my daughter is a few months older than Ron DeSantis. Go figure.
I am not going to research it but I do wonder if there is another “aggregation” of nearly the same age in any other group of our presidents.
Saying W has gotten “pretty good” at his painting may be just a bit … premature.
But, perhaps I’m just a bit overly critical.
With luck it will distract him from meddling with amnesty. … … … nah, he’ll dip his oar in that cesspool!
As i recently turned 80 the term immigrant, to me, meant someone that went through the process of legally entering the United States and eventually achieving citizenship.
The paintings by Bush do not indicate if the immigrants are legal or illegal but the rhetoric by Bush, Scott, Bill and Steve indicates they are illegal.
Why do you call those that have disdain for our laws and traditions ‘immigrants’?
This is a slap in the face to those that immigrated legally.
Can’t interpret Bush’s rhetoric, but have thought for years that if Bill/Scott/Steve say immigrant, they mean those who came here through the legal process. Like Bill’s wife.
Had they meant otherwise, they would have used the phrase illegal immigrant, as they often do.
Well, I always understood the word immigrant to simply be someone who came here (incoming person), whether they did it legally or illegally. And of course you are an emigrant if you are leaving your country for another one, whether doing so legally or illegally.
Immigrant | Definition of Immigrant at Dictionary.comhttps://www.dictionary.com/browse/immigrants
noun a person who migrates to another country, usually for permanent residence.
If matt had to get into the race he would have to take positions on controversial issues.
Would he, though? Even if he ran as a D? Beto never did.
He wouldn’t be allowed to run as a d.
It’s not the thunder round. It’s Scott Ott’s ‘Thunder Dome’ …
It was a fun episode! I hope you do it again.
As to the Bush interview, President Bush is definitely a genuine person. I have always appreciated that about him. Even when I didn’t agree with his policies I admired his lack of pretension. It’s why he can be friends with anyone who is willing to meet him halfway. I would guess if Mr. Trump had not gone so hard against Jeb Bush in the primaries that President Bush would have been more pragmatic about him. In private, Mr. Trump is said to be very open and friendly and that is something that someone with a personality like Mr. Bush’s would have found engaging, even humorous.
The person I really have little nice to say about is Norah O’Donnell, because I know if Mr. Bush were still President, she would have done the interview quite differently. Her opinion of him while he was in office bordered on the insulting. Mr Bush is old school, In the past, politicians on both sides of the aisle could be seen to collaborate on legislation and various charitable causes without raising much of a furor. But ‘reporters’ like Ms. O’Donnell who have poisoned the well today and fan the flames of distrust and outrage rather than promote civility. If she had done her research, she would have known that it is far less surprising that Mr. Bush has become friends with Michelle Obama than that Mrs. Obama has become friends with him. Mr. Bush famously reached across the aisle to form good working relationships with Democrats all the way back to his Texas Governor days. Smart politicians like Ronald Reagan knew it was easier to get stuff done if you cultivated the areas of agreement and could talk things over. Even Mr. Trump tried that at the beginning before it became obvious that he was not going to be given any respect or cooperation in the slightest.
Just Say No to Matthew McConaughey! He’s yet another limousine liberal, looking to take away your gun rights. He said it himself at a March For Our Lives event – you know, an event put on by David Hogg. He still thinks the Second Amendment is about hunting! 🤦🏻♂️ NO!

I want Abbott to be primaried from the right, not from the middle.
I like McConaughey both as an actor and as a mensch, but he says his share of stupid things. I’d have to know a lot more before I’d vote for him in a Republican primary against Abbot. (Or is McConaughey thinking of running as a Democrat?)
The reason Bush’s “immigration reform” “effort” failed is because he refused to prioritize securing the border and reforming the process before doing an amnesty. Reagan fell for that scam, and voters would not support any “all in one” approach that would allow amnesty without securing the border again.
The reason Trump’s policy (eventually) succeeded was because he threw out the “this is how things are done” playbook for omnibus packages and said, “we can talk about amnesty after the border is secure.”
Of course, being succeeded by an administration that literally opens big gates in the wall (Rome, anyone?) shows how even good policy can be subverted, but Trump, unlike Bush, understood that some things have to be done in discrete steps.
We are having a gubernatorial election here in Virginia, in 2021. I have looked into all of the candidates running, and I’ll gladly take a chance on Matthew McConaughey.
Looks like Pete Snyder is going to win the title of the guy who gets crushed by McAuliffe. The VA GOP has become a joke
McAuliffe is also a joke, but after seeing what Northam has gotten away with with respect to EOs, Terry is waiting for his “hold my beer” moment.
Went to a Pete Snyder event up here in The People’s Republic of Arlington & liked what I heard. Republicans need to be smart & hit McAuliffe hard
You know you are talking about the VA GOP, right? Hard-hitting is not how I would describe them.
I will look into Snyder. Youngkin seems like D-lite. Though anyone but McAuliffe would be my desire.
I’m still p*ssed about the VA GOP blowing the chance to get Cuccinelli elected. The thing that impressed me about Snyder is that he gets that a lot of people are angry about how the Dems have been destroying the state this past year. Unsurprisingly, today the Dem’s official PR publication, the Washington Post, endorsed McAuliffe
Yea, Ken C was pretty good. It really seems like that national orgs have just given up on VA. I get irked since where I live we might as well be a different state. Our reps have no voice, even when we had the state assy as a nominal R org, everything revolved around NoVA and Hampton Roads. West of Richmond may as well not exist.
It is important to remember that any republican president is literally hitler … until they are out of office.
Only now who has made the most executive orders in office now?
Scott Ott – Raining down the Thunder. Take that Green!
Lots of fun gents.
MEATBALL!!!
The Press doesn’t think he’s Hitler anymore?
That ends the moment they move onto their next Emmanuel Goldstein. It also has the odd effect of deifying the previous Goldsteins, and they actually pretend they didn’t hate him with every ounce of their being
Unless you’re Donald Trump, then you’re the ultimate evil forever.
Time will tell – would you have ever guessed that Leftists would one day claim that they didn’t hate Dubya, but actually speak fondly of him?
Trump 4 Eva!!!!!
Granted that this is all editing and presentation of a narrative, but isn’t it interesting that they portrayed him as “friends” with Mrs. Obama, but only a critic of Mr. Trump?
Since we have to listen to it, can we get a video tour of Casa Verde when the remodeling’s done?
I’d love to know how many immigrants Bush is housing on his ranch
Scott, Gene Simmons salutes you!
