The Biggest Danger of LOCKDOWNS

My biggest worry with these city and state-ordered lockdowns, is that it trains our impressionable children to believe that this is normal. If allowed to continue, generations beyond them may think that being herded around like cattle and being penned up whenever the governor snaps his fingers is the natural order of things. The creepy image that comes to my mind is the scene from H.G. Wells film adaptation of ‘The Time Machine’, where will-broken Eloi flock obedently to the Morlock edifice, lured by the eerie wail of sirens. I might call myself crazy for taking it that far, if the producers of that movie hadn’t conceived of it first.

That leaves it to our generation–you and me–to put an end to this nonsense; nip it in the bud. No need to parade in the streets, chanting and brandishing signs of protest. If Everybody just went on with their normal business–open their salons, restaurants and spas…like any other day. And simply ignored the Cuomo-types. What could they do? Arrest everybody? No need to pay fines that are levied un-Constitutionally. Why encourage them? If we want these governors and mayors to stop behaving like Lords and Lordesses, we need only to stop behaving like serfs.

This virus from Hell (otherwise known as China) may sicken us or kill us, but after, in either case, we will be immune. Our children (and theirs), on the other hand, may never be immune from the tyranny of rouge government if we allow it to settle in. Just look at China.

Towards the end of the first lockdown (was that March? April?), I wrote a letter to the editor of the local rag, with all this in mind; and was shocked that they actually ran it.  It ended something like: ‘Let’s send a strong, clear message to this governor and all future governors of this State:
“WE WON’T BE LOCKED DOWN…EVER!” ” They haven’t tried it since.

Well. That’s the thought of the day. Thanks for letting me rant.

Absolutely agree, Mr. Morse.

Visions of future worlds flash in our heads, sadly enough. But mere reflections on things which have already been, ought to frighten sufficiently to spur resistance. Trains loaded with people being moved “for their protection”, to places like Auschwitz.

No. That’ll never happen here. (Tinged with sarcasm.)

Good rant. I hate when I see little children wearing masks. A little girl about 6 was in my office sitting in a chair watching her Mom get her teeth cleaned. I walked by and said, sweetheart, you don’t have to wear your mask in here. The child looked at me in horror, real fear in her eyes. I agree: what are we doing to our children? And is that what our masters intend?

I would never willingly go to my own execution or dig my own grave. I will never give in. This is still OUR country, not theirs. They are supposed to work for our benefit, not their own.

People have stood obediently in line for their turn to get shot in the face or the guts and rolled into mass graves. Hundred of thousands, maybe millions of human beings, stumbled despairingly to that same ignominious fate.

ANYTHING can be normalised.
