Today on Facebook, I saw yet another article (FOX News) reporting that Senator Bernie Sanders stated that ,”We need a political revolution.” This is on the heels of Sanders’ comment that the American People would be “happy to pay more in taxes” for ‘free’ healthcare. I had to post a comment, and it was succinct: “Bernie Sanders, in my view, is an enemy of the United States.” Those are rather harsh words, I admit. But I think harsh words are in order, when politicians such as Sanders openly endorse (and are running on) a Socialist (Communist light, really) agenda. Unfortunately, I don’t see MY representatives, that I voted for, doing the fighting for me. Everyone wants to “get along.” I think it’s cowardice, or at best, an infection of the influence that Washington D. C. has on people who have been exposed to that cesspool of power. Yes, I do believe there are good and decent politicians, even in Washington. And perhaps the silence I am “hearing” is nothing other than the lack of reporting by the mainstream media. But I don’t see the kinds of challenges to people like Sanders that need to be done openly. So, it’s up to us to call it like we see it.
Sanders IS an enemy of the Republic. Oh, he can be charming and genial. But, so could some of the worst tyrants of the past. Sanders openly wants policies for this country that failed everywhere else they have ever been tried. And those policies have killed, imprisoned, tortured, stolen from, and impoverished MILLIONS of people. THAT’S the kind of revolution Sanders wants. He makes overtures about caring for the people of this country. But he doesn’t really care about anything other than enriching himself, and that by OUR hard work and earnings. There’s no other accurate portrayal of his positions. Sanders is the kind of politician the Founders warned us against. And there should be mockery, open challenges, and even pointed language telling Sanders that his ideas are not only antiquated and failed, but they’re dangerous and destructive. Rush Limbaugh, Bill Whittle, and many others in the alternative Conservative Media are shouting it from the rooftops. But I think, at some point, some of my representatives in Congress go all “Trey Gowdy” on Sanders. Gowdy was probably the best challenger to the excesses and stupidity in Congress. It’s truly a shame that he retired from that body. We need somebody with that kind of character, courage, integrity, and sheer authority of knowledge to call people like Sanders out for their utter lies.
It may not appear “proper” to do so…but we are at a place in this culture where being nice just for the sake of getting along is not helping. I think this is why Trump is so popular…what he says is often uncouth for a politician, but it still probably needs to be said. Trump says what he means and means what he says. I don’t always like how he says things, but sometimes people need to hear things in an unabridged form to get the seriousness of the issue.
I think Sanders is an enemy of the country. And I wish someone in Congress would call him that.

Will, I hate to say it, but I am not yet convinced. (Notice, I did not say you were wrong, just that I am not yet convinced). When you look at the history of revolution, whether it is the French Revolution, the Russian, the revolutions in South America and Africa, there is a pattern. This is the pattern I see with Bernie Sanders and even AOC
The pattern is that the revolution is started by those who really want to make things better, who believe in the rightness of their cause, and want the revolution to make things better. They think that once they start the revolution, it will go they way they envision it, to a land of milk and honey.
Unfortunately, they are too shallow. They do not study history, and thus they are doomed to repeat it. Revolutions always take a turn to the autocratic; the American Revolution is the exception which proves the rule. Everyone studies and emulates the American Revolution because we did not take that turn, but our revolution is the only one in the history of man (to the best of my knowledge, anyway) which did not turn to a move to power.
Revolution is like motion in physics. The hardest part is to get the revolution going, just as the hardest part of moving an object is to get the object out of a state of rest. Once the motion/revolution has started, the direction can be changed with a lot less effort. The enemies within that you are talking about are not the faces of the revolution, the Sanders and the AOC and the rest, but the people behind them. The “behind” people know they cannot get the revolution going, but they can control it once it has started. Those are the people I worry about. Bernie, AOC, and the rest are what Lenin called the “useful idiots”.
Just a thought.
“Useful Idiots” is probably the most accurate phrase to use, and you are probably more, how shall I say…’optimistic’ in your analysis than I am (which isn’t a bad thing, I suppose).
The only thing that I can say to your thoughtful reply is, Sanders can’t be that naive. He has to know that what he endorses is harmful to the country. Sanders has had a long career in government, and he has managed to become wealthy by never actually working like the rest of us. That requires intent and resolve. Sanders cannot be that stupid. AOC? Yeah, she’s an idiot. But Sanders?
You are generous to not say that I might be wrong…but I just might be. However, I do think that even if Sanders is just a naive useful idiot, a good dose of reality would go far to embarrass him into at least thinking about the far reaching consequences of his policies.
