Every day my faith in and willingness to defend the US constitution dwindles.
Every day my belief that a Libertarian ANCAP society is the only true way for a people to be free grows.
Our founding fathers wrote the constitution to keep government small, in check and have relatively little power over our lives. Now this government that was founded and supposedly constrained by the constitution has grown to the most powerful, meddling, far reaching and corrupt the world has ever seen.
I see the left and the socialist arguing for government monopolized healthcare and forced redistribution of wealth by elected officials and appointed bureaucrats. I watch the right and Republicans become righteously indignant at the prospect of a nanny state. But in the next breath argue for the state monopolization of security and defense.
for all the reasons you don’t like the idea of government run healthcare you can apply those same reasons to government run security, policing, arbitration and national defense.
Not only does my belief that a complete dismantling of all government would be beneficial in an economic sense grow each day. So does my belief that this is the only moral and ethical way to conduct a society. I believe government in all forms and the support of, or participation there in, is completely antithetical to my Christian values and the teachings of Christ. “Do unto others as you would have them do onto you” “love thy neighbor as thyself”.
Every law, edict, regulation, declaration and mandate is enforced at the point of a gun. And those guns are held by men and women in blue and camouflage uniforms that the Republicans, who profess to be the lovers of liberty and protectors of freedom, would stand in front of a speeding train to defend.
Don’t tread on me remains as true today as it did in 1776 and the men and women with the badges and the stripes on their arms are wearing the boots that will be doing the treading.
As in the words of Lysander Spooner in ‘No Treason: The Constitution of No Authority’
“But whether the Constitution really be one thing, or another, this much is certain – that it has either authorized such a government as we have had, or has been powerless to prevent it. In either case it is unfit to exist.“
