The Fury of Whip-Gate: Did Horse-Mounted Border Agents Chase Haitians Like ‘Planet of the Apes’?

It’s a perfect snapshot of the failure of modern “journalism” that should have us asking ‘Who’s whipping whom?’

Stephen Green unravels the non-story fury around news accounts of horse-mounted border agents chasing Haitians back to their Del Rio encampment. It’s a perfect snapshot of the failure of modern “journalism” that should have us asking ‘Who’s whipping whom?’

We are in a alternative universe that insists on absurd narratives, in able to control the general population into compliance. This is nothing new, and has been used forever. Those who are using such should be outcasts in society, unfortunetly they are currently in charge of many of our institutions of “higher learning,” and government. Sick. We must fight against such with all we have, or we will all be hearded into a pen of subjugation by these psychopathic fools.

In Robert Altman’s great movie, M*A*S*H there is a great line, during the climactic football game, which comes often to mind at such times. The end of the quarter pistol has just sounded, resulting in the following exchange:

Hotlips O’Houlihan: Oh my God! They’ve shot him.

Colonel Blake: Hot Lips, you incredible nincompoop. It’s the end of the quarter.

While surveying the news I frequently find myself feeling like Col. Blake.

I loved when the ringer running back gets drugged and is on the sideline saying, “Put me in coach! I’m ready to run the 440!” Then the gun goes off and he takes off down the sideline.

The world turns, the sun rises, the left lies. Everything the left believes is based on lies: the lie that top-down expertise is superior to bottom-up, first-hand experience; the lies of moral and cultural relativism; the lie of subjective truth; the lie of materialism; the lie that noble ends can be achieved through ignoble means; the lie that sin is virtue; and the lie that they, the superior, have the right and even the duty to take what doesn’t belong to them away from those they designate the inferior – all while declaring oppression the unforgivable sin. A lefty lying about a non-story is itself a non-story; they’re simply relating what SHOULD be true. Accurate and balanced reporting emanating from their ranks? Now, that would be newsworthy.

What was the narrative in regards to Ashli Babbitt? Oh that’s right, “she broke the law and got what she deserved”. The rhetoric towards an American citizen & vet for… trespassing. Even if these illegal aliens were whipped for trespassing, which I doubt, it’s better than being a citizen, who served honorably as a vet, was lured into the Capitol and then had a projectile slug shoved through her jugular to bleed out. The left can go right ahead and spare me the bullshit hypocritical selective outrage.

Story update today: The White House has suspended the use of horses by Border Agents in Del Rio, proving, without a doubt, how stupid the current White House denizens truly are.

This is not funny. From an opinion piece in today’s UK Guardian: “You’ve probably seen a photograph haunting the internet this week: a white-presenting man on horseback – uniformed, armed and sneering – is grabbing a shoeless Black man by the neck of his T-shirt. The Black man’s face bears an unmistakable look of horror. He struggles to remain upright while clinging dearly to some bags of food in his hands. Between the men, a long rein from the horse’s bridle arches menacingly in the air like a whip. The photograph was taken just a few days ago in Texas, but the tableau looks like something out of antebellum America. The image is profoundly upsetting, not just for what it portrays but for the history it evokes.” And so the lies spread around the world. The UK Guardian does more to stoke hatred and racial animus than any other media outlet I know of anywhere in the world.

The images in question were captured by an Al Jazeera journalist. That journalist said that at no time did he see CBP horsemen whipping anyone with anything. Not with actual whips, which were not present. Not even with reins, which for you non-bucolic types are thin strips of leather affixed to the bit in the horse’s mouth that is used to control the horse.

It just didn’t happen. Someone took a still frame from the video out of context, the most seemingly accusatory still frame out of several minutes of video. Then made up a narrative to go along with the frame that had nothing to do with context or reality.

They did the same thing to Larry Elder making him appear to be slapping someone when that person was a good friend and supporter of Elder. This occurred at the same event where a white woman in a gorilla mask threw eggs at Elder, which the Leftist media ignored and refused to cover.

Clearly the Leftists and their media lackeys are lying. It doesn’t matter to many that those lies are wholly unfounded and absurd. Many will never see the representation of the actual truth or the retractions, if any, that refute those lies. It’s good enough for their purposes to have an image they can build a false narrative around, release it, promote it, and let it do as much damage as it can.

Leftist politicians in our government support this practice. Chuck Schumer made a resounding public statement condemning this event that didn’t happen. He’s just an example, there are many who did so.

I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that we’ll never see an apology or retraction from Schumer or any of the others. They’ll let that lie run and ride it for all it’s worth. I’m confident saying that because it’s a very strong limb and I’m not particularly concerned that I’ll fall off of it.

Therein lies our dilemma and challenge. How do we expose those lies so that people realize they are being purposefully deceived? When the Leftist media is the only media some will ever see and are glad of it to reinforce their confirmation bias?

The Narrative is all that matters. Facts are not relevant. We still have “Hands up, don’t shoot” t-shirts, regardless that the entire premise was proven false. Burning and looting? Peaceful protest. Walking unarmed into a public building? Insurrection. And so it goes.

All of those things are wrong too. I don’t give a flying fig for their ‘narrative’. All they do is expose their own duplicity thereby.

P.T. Barnum said “You can fool all of the people some of the time, and some of the people all of the time but not all of the people all of the time.”

This crap is eventually coming home to roost.

From Texas here…judging from the Riders and horses actions, the horses shown in the video are specially trained “Cutting” horses…they’re trained to turn on a Dime in order to keep cattle from straying from the herd, or “cutting” desired/undesired stock FROM the herd…their reigns are a tad longer giving the Ranch Hand better, sharper control…perfect for Crowd Control, IMHO…

Nah, those aren’t “specially trained” horses. They’re just Quarter Horses doing the things any decent Quarter Horse can and would do. Sorry Tex, those are good horses but they’re nothing “special”, they’re just being used for purposes that kind of horse is particularly suited to. A Quarter Horse has a short barrel and muscular flanks to facilitate that kind of maneuver, which thereby comes naturally to the horse. You don’t have to “specially train” that kind horse. You just have to let him know what you want him to do and he’ll take care of the rest leaving you free to do what you have to.

Most people view horses as very large pets used for occasional recreational riding or show and have zero experience with actual working horses. Those are just normal working horses doing what any decent working horse can do. A Lippizaner is an example of a “specially trained” horse, working quarter ponies* are just working quarter ponies. They’re great horses though and the Quarter Horse is my favorite breed/type.

There’s nothing special about those reins either. They’re not longer to give the rider more control, if you need more or finer control you lean forward and choke up on the reins. The reason those reins are that long is just to make it easy to loop them around something to tether your horse but leave him enough of his head to graze or drink. Horses can eat with a bit in their mouth but not as well as without. The bit goes in a gap between teeth and doesn’t prevent eating. Or to give you more range of hand movement (like using a lasso) without dropping a rein in the process. They’re good for when you dismount and have to lead the horse without it stepping on the back of your heels too. That hurts. A lot. It’s like any western gear**, there are reasons for it but it’s normal use not something “special”.

Unless you’re an English style rider, I suppose. Then everything western style is “special”. I don’t know how to ride English style and have no desire to learn. To my eyes it looks goofy and impractical.

(*In this application “pony” is an expression of affection, like calling your grown dog a “puppy”, grown cat a “kitty” or motorcycle a “bike”. Those horses are not actual pony breeds, which are much smaller.”)

(**Like western boots are made to fit into and stay in stirrups while providing a long shaft that provides a gap between leather and leg which protects the leg from brambles, snake bite and believe it or not horse bites too. The large, tall heel on the boot isn’t there for style. It is so that if you lean back you don’t end up pushing your foot clear through the stirrup which is dangerous as hell and can result in a loss of control. If a horse gets it into his head he’s going to bite his rider, that’s the part he can reach. Western hats are made to wick away sweat and they’re basically a parasol/umbrella you can wear to protect you from sun/rain. It might seem counterintuitive to wear a felt hat in blazing sun but the hat does more to cool your head and insulate it from direct sun heat than it does to retain your body heat. It works the other way around in cool weather too. Etc. Western riding gear is all about function over form. Normal gear for normal applications, nothing “special” about this stuff.)

Well, there you go again. Interjecting experience, logic and facts into an internet discussion. Have you no shame, man? 😉
My Shetland Sheepdog likes to herd children. Actually had a neighborhood mom ask once if I had trained her to do that. For one of the few times in my life, I had no response.

Sorry, I can’t help myself. It’s another one of my foibles, like squishing bugs and destroying idiots (same thing and I’m not saying Jared is an idiot, he’s just not a horseman or he’d know all that stuff I pointed out already) or offering to demonstrate to journalists the effects of an actual whip, on their own hide, so that they know the difference henceforth. I confess to multiple character weaknesses including the weakness of immensely enjoying doing these things.
🙂

Same deal with a cow pony as your Shetland Sheepdog. They do what comes naturally. That’s why they’re bred that way. The behavior is in their genes, literally.

A Labrador Retriever wants to jump in the water and bring things back to you, the trick is in showing him what you want him to do. Then he, a cow horse or a Shetland Sheepdog will just do what comes naturally to them anyway.

A lot of people miss this very important point in training animals for a purpose. You want to accentuate and build on natural tendencies, not put them through a course of “special training” if that’s avoidable. That confuses the animal and wrecks them for their bred purpose. You can easily end up with a skittish, flighty, aggressive, nervously neurotic animal if you thwart their breeding.

Don’t buy a herding dog if you need a guard dog or a hunting dog. Don’t buy a Quarter Horse if you need a Thoroughbred, a Morgan or an Arabian. Don’t buy a car if you need a pickup truck. Don’t buy a boat if you need an airplane. Etc.

If you buy a herding dog for a pet, don’t be surprised if it starts gathering children or anything else into little groups. A friend of mine had a Border Collie that “herded” softballs. He kept them in a little group and he knew if one of his “flock” was missing. This is how you satisfy a herding instinct if you have nothing more suitable to herd.

If you buy a guard dog for a pet, don’t be surprised when it identifies you and your family as its “pack” and is less than warm to everyone else. If you buy a hunting dog for a pet, don’t be surprised when it brings dirty socks or dead animals and drops them at your feet. If you buy a hound for a pet, don’t be surprised that it wants to run the whole neighborhood and trees every cat it runs across. Then stands there baying its fool head off.

It doesn’t matter if we’re talking horses, dogs, falcons, truffle pigs or any other working animal. They’re bred to do the things people want them to over many, many generations. Those animals in the video (the four legged ones with men on their backs, not the two legged parasites with free food in plastic bags) are the cumulative result of centuries of selective breeding to purpose.

I’ve never owned a “pet” horse nor would I. I don’t love horses because they’re big beautiful animals that girls go all to jelly over. (There’s something slightly weird between human females and horses but I’m not getting into that here.) I respect horses as partners and (mostly) willing helpers not as pets. When a horse is what you need, nothing but the right horse will do.

That said, the smell of horse sweat always triggers good memories.

Just found this video … where agents do seem to have some short of short, whip-like devices … but aren’t actually whipping anyone… doing their job keeping people from illegally crossing the border. So maybe it’s not just a couple of pictures, but it’s still a false narrative.

I found it when I went to do a post on this … because I just got slapped with a “violates community standards” on a comment I made in a facebook discussion about traditional costumes in various cultures … which was literally me giving a link to where I got my 1880’s outfit I wear when I work the woodcarving tent at our local Columbia, MO Heritage festival. And then I searched for facebook posts on this whipgate incident to contrast what is allowed to stand and saw this Young Turks video. Which someone’s going to point to when we say it’s just based on a couple of still Getty images.

There are clearly no consequences for a “reporter” just making crap up. Not being on twitter, I wonder if anyone with a desire for truth reported her tweets as misinformation. Or do people try to shout into the echo and explain with facts?

One of my favorite foods … I’d cross the Rio Grande for that too. I’d go home again afterwards and therein lies the difference between me and an illegal alien interloper.

Which reminds me why I’m so glad I’m an American back living in America again. If this was such a terrible place as the Left makes it out to be there sure are a lot of people escaping to here and a suspicious dearth of people escaping from here.

No doubt Tex-Mex is one of the better reasons for that.

I think that the next step is that we stop even referring to these people as journalists. Most of today’s media are nothing but the AV club for the extremists that have taken over the Democratic Party
