House Speaker Nancy Pelosi puts on a petulant show behind the President of the United States as he delivers his third State of the Union address on the eve of his acquittal on impeachment charges. As Pelosi throws a speech-ripping tantrum, Trump connects emotionally with Americans across the country, putting a human face on his policies. Tears flow as First Lady Melania Trump places the Presidential Medal of Freedom on conservative lion Rush Limbaugh. Do Democrats have any idea what they face in November?

Bill’s comments on Joe Biden are spot on. However, it must be fully recognized that Bernie IS making headway among some voters. The effort must be to isolate this situation and ensure that it does not continue to grow and influence others. Socialism is a falsehood, a lie. Hopefully the majority of voters understand this. The concern is that more and more in society are embracing the concept. That is the frightening trend that must be eradicated. Andy Puzder did an amazing presentation in a video sponsored by PragerU: “The Market Will Set You Free”. This concept needs to be pushed out to all, and as it is often said in farming, “get the water to the end of the row”. Thank you Team Bill Whittle for your continued efforts.
This speech was glorious. Especially in the light of the book I am reading now, Hanson’s “The case for Trump” (highly recommended): so far, it is a horror-story parade of Dem / deep state power grabs, revolving doors, and obstructions, that one wonders how Trump not only survived, but thrived.
I suspect many on the Left will disagree with me here, but I don’t believe that Trump is there to represent himself so much as he is there to represent US! I’m sure you’ve seen the meme where Trump is sitting with his elbows on his knees and saying something to the effect that they’re not coming after HIM, per se, but rather YOU and he is just there blocking for us. The evidence for that shows up in the increasing rhetoric of the Left wherein they call us racists, deplorables, etc., etc., etc. Trump has NEVER talked DOWN to us that I can recall, but has rather talked TO us. Why else do you suppose his rallies are so well attended?
As for him awarding Rush the Presidential Medal of Freedom, yeah, there may have been some partisanship going on there. But, forget not that Trump and Rush have been good FRIENDS for decades. Rush should have been awarded that medal LONG before many others who have received it and I, for one of millions, believe that The Donald did absolutely the right thing to award that medal at the SOTU (and who better than our wonderful First Lady to hang it around his neck) to one of, as Bill said a few days ago, one of the handful of Americans such as Washington, Madison, and Jefferson who have really, really, really impacted this nation for the better!!! Rush, you are in our prayers!
It was brilliant in that it exposed so much to the public. The tactic of shunning Pelosi’s handshake right up front so unnerved her that Trump trolled her for the rest of the speech. She was the comic relief for the whole thing. My favorite two moments were when Trump swore he would protect our Second Amendment from all attackers and when he boldly said a socialist government will NEVER be put in place in America (where as the reaction face shot on AOC for that?). Another would be his statement about Space Force and the American commitment to be the first nation to put humans on Mars. The threat to kill any terrorists who threaten Americans was another. Icing on the cake: Rush’s Freedom Medal Award, the promoting of a 101-year old WWII Tuskegee airman to Brigadier General, the awards of scholarships to a future Space Force officer and a young girl to go to the school she prefers, and the reunion of a combat soldier with his family. That was moving. The recognition of the Border Patrol officer and the remembrance of Rocky Jones’ death were also poignant. But as I told my wife, you can tell in the camera view who the domestic enemies of America are by watching who stood and clapped and who did not. When elected American officials not even applaud wins for the American people, then you know who your enemies really are. It was exposed for everyone to see. That was the ultimate genius of the speech. Pelosi’s tantrum at the end merely put the final act on the proof.
Remember that law (18 U.S.C. §2071) that Bill wrote a magnificent Firewall demonstrating how Hillary had violated it and would be barred from serving in public office for life? Pelosi just did it on national TV. The law includes terms like “mutilates” and “destroys.” That document was not even her personal copy. Trump’s handing it to her (not giving the speech) was the actual SOTU as delivered to Congress under the Constitution. So the jokes about her ripping up the Constitution aren’t that far off.
Several lawmakers are pursuing this idea. Would impeaching the Speaker of the House for this criminal violation of law backfire on Republicans in an election year?
(I can’t claim thinking this up for myself: there’s an article over at DW about it.)
As I said on Twitter:
If you play back the video in slomo you can see Pelosi blinking in Morse code, “OK Rashida. I did it, now please release my grandchildren”
Couple things I heard from Dan Bongino about the SOU that seemed to be plausible. Trump played Pelosi like a fiddle. Everybody knows about her ego and her temper. He chose to leave her hanging on the handshake because he knew it would make her CRAZY, and that it would likely show up during the speech. He nailed it. She could not hold still. She looked like she was mumbling to herself, she kept popping her dentures in and out distorting her face and looking like a shape shifter or some such evil, she would not stand and acknowledge greatness when positive things for the entire country were talked about capping the whole thing with a petulant child ripping up the speech. People seeing her “performance” who are not completely brainwashed would be shocked that someone that unstable is in a role of leadership in this country. Also saw a meme about Trump that was excellent, it said something like “You got to hand it to Trump, who else would be able to get the Democrat party to attend an award ceremony for Rush Limbaugh.” SO TRUE!
“You got to hand it to Trump, who else would be able to get the Democrat party to attend an award ceremony for Rush Limbaugh.”
Now THAT’s funny!
“I always gum my corn” Pelosi, worked on her speech-tearing all during the speech. I saw a video that clearly showed her starting tears every few sheets as she moved pages to the pile. But the best part is that Glenn Beck passed out “Nancy Pelosi Sucks” pens afterward to the congressmen. If it wasn’t a done deal before, she guaranteed Trump’s re-election by insulting everyone in the country.
Not only did Auntie Nan sit there making her little moues of displeasure, but you can bet your sweet bippy she was watching her fellow traitors to see if any of them had the temerity to applaud a great speech. We know one of them did and I’ll bet she received unshirted hell from her highness afterwards. Nancy is one nasty bit of work and I’m hoping to be alive long enough to see her out of office one way or another, although I’d prefer it to be in a shower of shame. I think Trump’s shunning a handshake with her was because of her introduction of him before the speech. Traditionally, it would be something like, “It is my great honor and great pleasure to introduce the President of the United States, Donald Trump.” Pissy Nancy omitted the first part of that and just introduced him by title and name. I’m pretty sure she nearly choked on the title part as well. I don’t blame Trump at all for shunning her after she so blatantly slapped him figuratively. He paper tearing show at the end was viewed by a lot of Democrats as petty and unwarranted, causing some to announce publicly that they would never vote Democrat again. Good going , Nan! By all means continue.
I can’t remember how to edit. That should be “Her paper tearing show…”. NEED MORE COFFEE!!

I’m not convinced that Trump saw her extending her hand. Not that it matters much one way or the other, but he didn’t shake Pence’s hand and he turned just as she was extending hers. That said, if you’re going to act like a 2-yr old, she started it!
Tripling down on a pair of twos is an exactly fitting metaphor for the demented left of left Democrats. I despair over the fact they will suffer no consequence for their pushing the pathetic charade of impeachment upon us. Hopefully, We the People will reward them by forcing early retirement on every culpable Democrat and turncoat Republican currently in office.
On the positive side, the Republicans have discovered they actually do have a spine, fought back brilliantly, and won. They have proven to themselves and the rest of us that the Democrats will never love them and will never stop saying bad things about them. They no longer need to be paid up members of the Spelunking Party and no longer need to cave to Democrat whims and childish tantrums. They might actually have a future as a party that supports the Republic and the individual rights for which it stands. One that we have needed for at least a century if not a century and a half.
I am an atheist but I thank whatever powers that exist in the universe that We the People voted a man such as Trump into office. He has made a difference that really matters. I will vote for him to have four more years.
If you strike me, Nan, I’ll become more powerful than you can possibly imagine.
Yep. Acquitted! Along partisan lines except for Mittens, who split his vote on the articles. He has once again reminded me that he is a completely spineless buffoon when he invoked his faith as a reason for guiding his decision, and accused Trump of being “guilty of an appalling abuse of public trust.”
I think that Laura Ingraham labeled it best with “priggish Mitt”:

Mitt and Pelosi are cut of the same cloth. Both hateful and vengeful creatures.
Nancy deserves no respect from anyone — especially the POTUS — considering the character assassination she and the other demo nutjobs in Congress have perpetrated for 3+ years.
