The Mighty Tuxedo Kid and his Gang of 7

A short happy post about the kittens my hubby and I have been raising for the past several weeks.  Our elderly neighbors discovered that a momma cat (now called SuzieQ) moved in under their shed, next to the neighborhood skunk and proceeded to present them with 7 kittens.   She spent a short time in my bush out front, with kittens  hiding while the neighbors had their “shed” painted.

Obviously we had the potential of a “feral” momma who wasn’t spayed, 7 kittens who would go on to procreate at least 3 x 7, etc, etc you get the picture lol.  And the likely father who’d been panhandling his way around the neighborhood for ages, a big black scruffy male, that we dubbed Freddy the Freeloader.

Long story short, we managed to trap 6 of the kittens ourselves after a couple of weeks of haggling trying to find someone who knew what they were doing and took them in to take over our garage.  I’m happy to say (and sad at the same time), that all 6 of them now are bundles of furry joy and ready to find their furever homes.  Oh, and SuzieQ decided to hold back one of the kittens for another two weeks, while we tried to figure out how to finally trap her.  She was the clever one, avoiding the traps or stealing the food without tripping them.

Finally about a week ago both SuzieQ and Leo (the last kitten) were trapped and we have Leo now learning that human hugs and kisses aren’t the mean awful thing his mom had made us out to be.  Though still somewhat wild, he may be full of cuddles in another week or so.

My hubby and I are still trying to decide “if” we are going to keep one, two or all seven lol.  But for now we are “taking reservations” for their furever homes.

I’m sure everyone here is much to far away to want one, but I’d like to introduce them anyways to all the wonderful people here.

The first is Hissy Missy – I’ll let  you figure out why she’s named that lol

The 2nd is Rajah fighting with the mighty boa constrictor – Beautiful tiger striped kitten.

The 3rd is Spike – he’s part of the clean up crew, making sure that every plate is cleaned at the end of every meal.

The 4th is Sadie – she’s looking a little sad, I think “gumpa” just told her it’s time for her to find a new

5th another picture of Rajah, I think saying oh no, time to leave already?

6th Rajah vs the mighty Tuxedo Kid – while Tux is the leader of the kitty bad boys gang, he is being the gallant brother and allowing Rajah to take the win.

7th Hissy Missy learning the news that she’ll be leaving us soon too.

8th is Leo – The last and final wayward kitten, that gumpa has taken what is likely a permanent liking to.

The one missing here is Puma, the almost pure black panther kitten.  She thinks she’ll grow up to be like her larger cousins are, so instead of showing her, here’s a picture of her big cousin who lives far far away in a way distant universe.

No this isn’t a sales pitch, I just wanted to share the joy of raising feral kittens for the very first time.  I hope you enjoy them, even if only in pictures, as much as I do.
