They know what is best so they’ve gone ahead and created a potentially devastating environmental disaster! They did this without debate, permission, and/or knowing what would happen! And they did this KNOWING that manmade global warming is a LIE! Someone needs to follow these imbeciles around and shoot down these balloons, otherwise they could cause terrible unintended consequences.

Am I reading this right? Sulphur particles being released into the atmosphere? Sulphur will oxidize in the air eventually to SO2, or occasionally to SO3. When water (H20) hit it, sulpurous acid (H2SO3 when combined with SO2) will be formed. That often oxidizes to sulphuric acid, and SO3 combining with water also gives sulphuric acid.(H2SO4)
Does anyone besides me remember acid rain being the boogeyman in the Seventies? You know, little things like harming buildings like the Parthenon?

Yes, it looks to me like you read it right. Your chemistry is also spot on regarding the formation of sulphurous and sulfuric acids.
This is a dangerous scam to cash in on ignorant people wanting to ‘do something’ about climate change.
The good news is that a company like this is unlikely to ever have enough economic commercial or physical mass to affect anything either positively or negatively. Even if they release thousands of balloons annually they won’t come anywhere near the sulphur output of a single volcano over a single day.
Earth is a big planet and those are by comparison very miniscule balloons.
However, this does highlight one of the major downfalls in concentrating on ‘climate change’ .
Pollution is a very real problem and these people are releasing pollution in the name of climate change. There is way too much of this ignoring pollution in the name of climate change going on.
The ‘climate change’ argument is structured in such a way that there will never, ever be a solution that will satisfy all the climate change alarmists.
This is exactly the same tactic that the Palestinians use in arguing against the Jewish State of Israel. The Palestinian ‘peace’ solution is to destroy the State of Israel and kill all the Jews. Of course there is no way the Jews in Israel are ever going to accept that sort of thing as a reasonable outcome to ‘peace efforts’ so there will be no peace as long as the Palestinians insist on a genocidal pogrom. Thus the Palestinians are safe in their goal to never have any sort of peace accidentally crop up with the nation of Israel in negotiations.
Because the Palestinians will reject anything that does not meet their unattainable goal.
This is an example of setting an unattainable goal and sticking to it come hell or high water. This is a favorite tactic of the Left. Climate change alarmism works exactly the same way. The only thing that will actually come anywhere close to attaining the goal of the climate change alarmists is to kill off billions of people. Those billions of people are not going to go along with such a plot but that doesn’t stop the plotters. They don’t come right out and say this but it’s clear by inference from what they say.
In the meanwhile we get companies like this one trying to cash in on a social fad. They can’t possibly succeed and what they are actually doing is bad for planet Earth. That doesn’t matter to them, what matters is finding a way to profit from insanity. Sadly, the insane are more than willing to shovel cash into such an effort because there is no intellectual honesty involved at all.
If this company releasing balloons and sulphur into the atmosphere were honest they’d advertise what they’re doing as selling Smugness Tickets. Because that’s what they’re actually doing.
Like every other commercial endeavor trying to milk the climate cash cow, they don’t give a fig about the damage they’re doing. This is nothing but Evil dressed up as Virtue.

I don’t find this stupidity in releasing pollutants all that alarming. It will very likely have no effect at all. What’s alarming is the increase in and acceptance of magical thinking. This is just a symptom of a much greater and more deadly disease. A symptom that is so obvious the scary part is that it isn’t being more broadly condemned for the imbecility it actually is.
