The shoulders upon which we stand

Here is a site some of you might like.  Created by Steven Stengel of Orange County, California, it showcases a collection of old computer technology, arranged in pages by year.

Though I am not that Steve, I have sympathy for how he feels because I have owned and still own (or used at work) at least 23 of these babies. Since 1977 and continuing surely until the day I leave this mortal coil, computers of all shapes and sizes have formed a central core of my life, giving me platforms upon which to learn nearly every computer language that has existed — and upon which to spill coffee, Dr. Pepper, Doritos dust, and pizza sauce.

I regret not one moment of it.

Click thru here to Steve’s Computer Collection and enjoy a little time reminiscing about the real good old days, back when getting a new computer was fun instead of a necessity!
