You have probably been told already that it’s pronounced Coot-en-ie.
Idaho has been a bastion of hope for a long time. Mostly like the wild west that it came from, gun rights, low taxes, people taking care of themselves and their families. Some horrific crimes happened here and are still in the minds of the citizens. Why? Because they were bad and because it is so rare that they occur.
Californians have discovered this paradise and moved from their cramped apartments to large homes on open land at the same cost. A year ago, Idaho began its tourist motto of “Idaho Sucks”. It was to encourage people to go elsewhere.

Hi Bill, Kootenai County is pronounced (Kootenee)! I live in the county next door (Bonner county) and our sheriff here has the same moral standing. Not only that but the 5 panhandle commissioners are looking into removing funding from our counties to the Panhandle Health Department for putting in mask mandates without public comment and those same commissioners along with the county sheriffs refuse to enforce those mandates. Long live Idaho!

Bill, you’ll have to follow what we have going in Nez Perce County and Lewiston Idaho. We have 50 of us now implementing your bottom up plan. At some point you may wan to highlight our effort also.
(BTW Kootenai is pronounced like it ends with a “y” like the “y” in “Liberty”)

Citizens of the LC Valley, a small group of us are developing a plan to save the republic and we need you to help us.
I have been almost incapacitated with grief for our nation as the events of the last few months have unfolded. I believe we are at the greatest risk of losing our Constitutional Republic and in turn our liberty as anytime in our nation’s history. Until about 2 years ago I was on the political sidelines, as I didn’t see much in politics that affected me directly and could not imagine what is happening today. If you currently are where I was, on the sidelines not seeing how or why to be involved, I have bad news for you; you must get involved. What is happening now is coming to everyone’s door, very soon, and when it does everyone is going to have to pick a side because everything you hold dear about living in the United States is at risk of being taken away from you.
If you choose liberty, the powerful forces of government allied with the big tech monopolies will quickly attempt to take everything from you; your free speech, your livelihood, your property, your friends, your freedom, your life and even your children. If you accept their false political narrative, lies and do nothing you will be left alone while they attack your neighbors… but those things will slowly be taken from you too, and your children’s opportunity just won’t exist anymore.
The Left now controls the media, academia, big tech, the government bureaucracies, and all branches of national government. They appear to be very powerful and unstoppable as they steal our elections, censor our speech, destroy competitors, shut down small businesses, and make lists of their prominent opponents they intend to cancel, silence, and even jail. However, these actions and motivations are not borne of power and overwhelming strength. These are actions that come from fear and weakness. These Leftists that plan to take away our liberty are very afraid and this is why. The vast majority of Americans know the joy of liberty and are stronger, more courageous, and we vastly outnumber them; and in the end we have arms to defend ourselves if they come to take us from our homes.
The fight to save our republic will not start in the nation’s capital. It will not start in our state’s capital. It must start from the bottom up in our local government.
A small group of us are working on a plan to replace the Leftists who are in control of our local government with Right leaning conservatives. Why is a 70% conservative community ruled by Leftists, Democrats and RINOs? Lewiston has 8775 registered Republicans and only 2598 registered Democrats, yet the City Manager is a Leftist, and the City Council is controlled by 4 Democrats, 2 RINOs and 1 Republican that mostly goes along to get along. The County Prosecutor is a Democrat turned Independent who ran unopposed in the last election. The County Clerk is a Democrat. The County Assessor is a Democrat.
Over the next few months we will be sharing our plan to transform our local government into one that respects liberty, the second amendment and doesn’t dictate how you should live your life. We plan to say “No More” to the city manager and city council and move Lewiston to a “strong mayor” form of government. This plan is in full swing and we WILL have a proposition on the ballot next election. Lewiston needs to be governed by a mayor that is accountable to the voters, not an unelected city manager that is not held accountable by anyone. This ballot proposition is only the start.
Are you enraged by what you see happening to our nation? Channel your anger by helping us fight back from the bottom up. We need to preserve liberty in Lewiston so none of us becomes a victim of the Left’s cancel culture, censored for our political beliefs, have our guns confiscated, have our business licenses threatened if we don’t enforce city mandates, or have our children taught critical race theory in our schools. We will preserve liberty in the Lewiston Valley and then take that liberty to Boise and Washington DC. We need campaign volunteers, people willing to show up to public meetings to make our voices heard, and conservatives willing to run for local office.

Beautiful. As someone stuck in one of the deepest blue Congressional Districts in the US, you can’t imagine how inspiring your efforts are – a soothing balm for one who believes every word of the preamble to our Declaration of Independence who is surrounded by a sea of drones brainwashed into disbelieving, rejecting, and hating every single one of them.

You don’t need to volunteer, but through the email you can stay informed on how we are running our campaign. We have 70 people now, and growing. 4 people have an interest in running for City Council and one has even talked about running for mayor after we have a Strong Mayor form of government in Lewiston. And, the best part is we are all going to have an enormous amount of fun doing this! Cheers

I really enjoyed, “The Sound of a Free Country”. I watched it once, and listened to it again. This is the first time in a long time that I actually enjoyed a program about current events, politics, or the state of the country.

Sheriffs have the distinct position of being elected by the people in their counties, not appointed by legislators, therefore they answer to the people, not the government. The problem is that this one is bold enough to stand up to his government for his constituents, but he is in the minority across the nation. God bless him! We need more people like him.

Today, the only reason I wear a mask is so I don’t get thrown out of a store. I want to get what I came for and get out as soon as possible.

Long time member from your old stomping grounds in Boca Raton. Loved this show, a lesson for all of us. Incidentally it’s pronounced Kootenay county. My daughter and son-in-law live there. Their only complaint is that they’re being over run with out of state people because no one will try to enforce the restrictions the visitors had to live with at home.

I am breathless!! Imagine a law officer actually reading the Constitution. Wow! The very document upon which he takes an oath to uphold. When I was teaching Fifth Grade each year I handed out copies of the Constitution to my students and we read and discussed it together. In fact, every year I would take them on a field trip to the State Capitol Bldg. and do a tour. Almost every single year either the docent or one of the security guards would compliment us on how well-behaved and knowledgeable we were. Then privately they would whisper, “Your students know more about how our government runs than many of the Assemblymen and Senators.” I would thank them and ask, “How else are they ever going to vote intelligently?” I’m also amazed at how may adults have never read it or know what is in it? Their excuses: It’s too long, has too many big words, is boring, doesn’t apply to modern times. No wonder we are in the mess we’re in.

Exactly! If you can keep 10-year-olds interested and actively engaged in discussing, even arguing, about what is in the document and what it means, what does that say about the juvenile attitudes of many adults? And they are sitting there complaining about all the “big words” with their iPhone in their hands on which they are constantly asking questions of Google about which movie actor first played Tarzan or who was the initial drummer for the Beatles, etc. Callow ninnies!

I would venture to say that the overwhelming majority of county sheriffs in most non-metropolitan (i.e., non-liberal non-socialist dominated) counties would echo this sentiment. Having worked for sheriff departments in rural counties, I can say this with some certainty.

If I’m not mistaken the Sheriff is an elected position, less political than other LE offices. They only answer to their constituants not any unwieldly bureauracy.

You’re correct. Sheriff Norris is an inspiration. Fortunately for us, he is in good company:

I’m stunned that there is anyone, anywhere, left in government who says such things. Sheriff Norris deserves all the praise possible from everyone who is faithful to the true America.
