We already have ‘artificial intelligence’ in the algorithms that social media and entities like Google use to analyze the masses of data they collect on us… and see how that’s working out. There’s talk that it is unstoppable, like Pandora’s box, once opened it cannot be contained.
So, if they are whining about it’s effects whilst working mightily to bring it about, are they hoping to prove their theorem, or just geekily trying to play God?

Thinking about Heinlein and Stranger In A Strange Land.
Several years ago a more complete version was published. The original version had been edited significantly.
The newer version, adding much material, is a far better book.

I don’t think the Republicans have the guts to do what they should and must do. They are mostly a bunch of spelunkers who are better at caving to the Democrats than fighting for our individual rights and the recovery of our republic.

Their problem is they take the democratic accusations as if they were serious charges rather than the angry screaming of spoiled children in full tantrum. Then they assume guilt where none exists. Their almost reflex reaction is they want the Democrats to love them and to stop saying bad things about them. In an attempt to get this from the Democrats, they work to become better Democrats that Democrats themselves. It doesn’t work, never has worked, and will never work.

To get better people in government we must first get better ideas into We the People. Sadly, close to half the voting population want government to take care of them so they don’t have to make any difficult decisions. Roughly half of the remaining half want government to be reduced to protecting our individual rights and nothing else. They want to run their own lives. The remainder don’t know what is at stake and don’t really care. They are more interested in the what is happening this weekend than the state of their individual rights.

So far, I am going to vote for Trump because he is the best chance we have. He actually does fight though somewhat inconsistently. Unfortunately, I don’t expect that even if we get a Republican landslide, that our chances will improve enough soon enough.

My most optimistic position is that I am glad I have a very good chance not living long enough to experience the total collapse of our republic.
