On the “Boomers”, all of the “tubes” might not be armed with “war shots” (nuclear stockpile warheads). Every missile might not be “real”, some could be testing “shapes” to record the performance of missile drills. The crew is deploying a full war reserve load out for all they know, and their performance of missile drills against that launch authentication is evaluated, kind of like it is in the movie “War Games”. Will they pull the trigger? There is more to “Spinning Up the Tubes” than I can confirm or deny. The RAD CON techs are not allowed to “survey” the “missile house” because their equipment could identify which missiles are nuclear armed (if any).
At 1:55:50, the answer is submarineER. Sailor of a Sub. SUBmariner is “Less than competent Sailor”.
Does 20,000 Leagues count as a submarine movie? I enjoy that film even if it’s a Disney G rated movie.
