Just started the latest Patricia Cornwell Captain Chase series called “Spin” where she talks about digital enhancements …”aided by cutting edge technologies…”… quite a page turner…
And a heroine (of course)… but that is standard for Cornwell and her well researched and believable characters…

Bill, I love every idea you’ve presented for “The Colonies” in this episode. From the enemy faction and the smaller antagonist factions, everyone’s motivations, the protagonist family, their interplay and dynamics, the sub plot with the daughter and the neighbor, the level of complexity of the robot, all of it, it’s perfect. This could legitimately become a cultural touchstone the likes of which we haven’t seen for 40 or 50 years.
May Vectron himself smile upon our endeavor! Hail Vectron!

Honestly Bill could turn this into short story series (comic maybe) that grow and include current sprinkling of issues being faced by Americans. Novel is great and would design the whole universe it operates in. But the short stories would bring discussions in to deal with current issues through that universe. Anyways, I may be just ignorant about his overall plans, just spit-balling ideas here. Enjoy listening to his descriptions and stories. I am a science fiction fan to say the least.

Robots…

In “Rocheworld” by James Hogan, they have a robot that is built along fractal lines. The interesting thing about it is that its AI is distributed among the various systems on the ship. Near the end of the story, one robot is destroyed, and the crew is devastated at its loss. The ship’s AI reassures them that nothing’s really been lost, as all the data were stored elsewhere.

I’m already looking forward to the day we get a Right Angle Backstage as long as this episode.
Steve & Scott, the gauntlet’s been thrown! We know you can drag Bill into this!

Wow, just started and my first thought is Bill’s voice must be a little better to go over 2 hours. This may take me 2 days to get through, but that’s ok.

I’ve known of a couple of people where I work that have that pilot’s same exact attitude. They cry racism because someone was “mean” to them and they think they’re getting treated differently because of their skin color. When you dig into it, turns out they got their asses chewed out for being an incompetent worker. It’s the same ass-chewing that even the white incompetent workers get.
