Bill does good work but he can’t check everything. Cold fusion is not a fraud, who ever told him that lied. Its unreliable and the physics community really hates the theory though it works for Muon and Farnsworth fusion too. I’m someone that has proof read books for the authors and studied all the papers. I even corresponded with Fleishmann when he was alive. The problem with cold fusion is simple; it competed with the grant money for plasma fusion and they guard that grant money well. The laser fusion work he cited has been trashed by the plasma fusion people for half a century. The other problem is that its advocated were all elderly; older than its detractors so we can’t wait for the detractors to die. You had to be old to know that there were known nuclear reactions with different reaction products, temperatures/ velocities and radiation profiles. They stopped teaching Aneutronic and Muon fusion fully in the 1970’s.
We can make units that work but today we are totally locked out of grant money, peer review, labs and patents are legally blocked. If we crack the barrier it will come as a huge surprise and a super technology. We have so many of the ancillary problems (powerplant, applications, recycling, etc) worked out making a reliable cell is the remaining challenge. I need a lab and as usual I’m on the wrong side of the planet from the few working one of which is near Bill.
People failed to duplicate the experiment precisely and therefor failed to get results. MIT succeeded and yet claimed failure in the paper showing success. School kids have since done cold fusion demonstrations. Also Pons and Fleishmann did not coin the word cold fusion someone else did. Its millions of degrees measured at the Nano-scale with infrared microscopy.
The attacks on Cold fusion, LENR, etc are pure scientism. The attackers are worse than Dr Anthony Fauci.
