On Ukraine:
There is a great deal of information our US news media is NOT telling our nation about. And our ignorance of facts in this matter is being exploited by news media and war hawks in our government to drive up fear and divisions in our nation. So I ask if I may, to humbly offer some education and background on this matter.
Just like the USA has individual states, so does Ukraine. The two eastern most states that border Russia are Donetsk and Luhansk. These two states have long protested the corruption in the Ukrainian government and used peaceful petition and domestic violence to oppose the central government in Kyiv. Their end goal is and has been to become separate and independent nation-like states. These two states favor Russian culture and Russian political and economic ties. They disfavor ties to the Ukrainian central government. Pro-Russian militias have long been established in these two states.
Today we did get news that Putin is backing an effort for these two states to declare independence from Ukraine and this “invasion” we have heard about from our US media is (excuse me “fact – checkers”) offering up “misleading and partial-truths”. As for the “invasion”, Putin did authorize Russian military forces to cross over into these two eastern-most Ukrainian states. And the Russian military is moving units into these regions. But it is not for the purpose of attacking anybody in these regions. It is most likely to assist the regional authorities and militia groups in establishing a new DMZ on the western borders of these two states to defend against a Ukrainian effort to use military force to “invade” Donetsk and Luhansk and repel Russian forces and forcibly assume control of these two “rogue” states.
There are two peace accords (The Minsk agreements), one brokered in 2014 and the second brokered in 2015. These accords were brokered with Russian Assistance between Ukraine, and the major powers of Europe to establish a workable peace treaty between Donetsk and Luhansk and the central government in Kyiv. The agreements never saw fruition as all sides involved did not honor their sides of the treaty.
Russia (Putin) is likely taking these actions for two reasons. #1) Biden and the US Administration is lame and weak, and he knows he can gain control of the global diplomatic efforts and emerge as the winner. This will bolster his reputation at home. #2) Putin sees this as an economic opportunity. If he can successfully achieve independence for Donetsk and Luhansk, then those two states will favor Russia and openly establish trade and commerce with Russia.
So, the US military should NOT be getting involved here. This is a regional issue, and honestly, we really have no dog in this fight. It is opportunistic for US and allied leaders to beat the war drums over this Ukraine situation. It’s an opportunity for world leaders to talk tough and show bravado for political gain. There is no threat of WW3, at least for now. Now if Poland or Belarus or Germany, or other nations over there want to fight it out….. So be it. It’s foolish, but at least it’s their neighborhood.

Thank you. I’ve heard bits and pieces, but I appreciate the additional detail. I would like to add that by taking these two states, it would provide two additional benefits: 1) direct access to the Black Sea and 2) needed real estate to better route his pipelines.
I would like to add that the Obama administration with involvement from Clinton, Kerry and Biden were involved in said corruption both directly and through NGO’s with EU and/or Sorros ties. The EU that has been expanding towards Russia with NATO following behind despite promises made to Russia otherwise.
