The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters this weekend, and Bill Whittle sees nothing rising — but rather an epic unmaking of a once-great story. Here’s why Progressives killed everything good in the hero’s journey, and how they replaced it with a collectivist, feminist dream…and it wasn’t just Rian Johnson and Kathleen Kennedy. Learn how this effort will backfire and why it matters to conservatives.

Watched it Christmas evening. To be fair, it was a valiant effort at making the best of where the previous movie left everything. And that’s it.
The painful thing is knowing how much creative energy went into it all, that has effectively gone to waste. Most of the people who worked on this trilogy probably believed, at the start, that they were going build:
1. A great movie trilogy in its own right
2. A worthy addition to the saga that will sell a load of Deluxe Collector’s 9-Volume Boxed Sets.
3. A continuation of the saga that keeps people interested in future installments.
Instead,
1. It barely qualifies as a trilogy as disjointed as each episode was from the last
2. However much people would like to pretend that the sequels don’t exist, it will affect how you watch the Lucas films from now on, if you know what is supposed to happen next.
3. The next saga is planned to take place several centuries in the past.
The Babylon Bee wrote a comprehensive review of Star Wars and concluded with this kudo: “We’ll say this in no uncertain terms: Rise of Skywalker is better than Cats.” https://babylonbee.com/news/rise-of-skywalker-the-babylon-bee-review
Not gonna lie…I saw it this weekend and was reasonably impressed. Rey had to have failures, needed help overcoming….I won’t say it “fixed” the first two in the trilogy, but I think it was not nearly as bad as it would have been without the director change. It’s not going to crack my top five as far as favorite Star Wars movies go, but it’s also not on the bottom. Least worst of the new trilogy, for sure.
Bill, I thought Luke was Vaders son??? I miss the “linear” from good.. I miss something ??
Anakin turned out to be good. He was “corrupted” by the dark side.
Sooooooo, Very good to very bad and back to good… that it ?
BTW, if anyone’s interested I added a post here asking Why did Star Wars Have to Turn Leia into Hillary?
Interesting thought exercise Bob…However, in the words of the smartest woman in the world, undeniably destined to be first woman president of the “People’s republic of the space between Mexico and Canada”, What difference at this point does it make?
I see now why the Bill Whittle Cruise is not being held on a Disney cruise liner…
I’m really looking forward to the cruise!
Looking forward to spending some time with you, RoadRunner NM.
I thought Chicoms, being blind to their own evil ideology and embracing everything opposed to righteousness, would’ve gobbled up the last installment’s switcharoo to the amoral side. But, according to an AFP story, the results are “meh”.
Overheard on sports talk radio this morning.
FS1 host. I took my 9 year old son to see SW. As we sat down I told him to look around. There were no other kids, just middle aged men.
This is the surest sign that the whole thing is dying. No new audience.
Little Bob doesn’t even dig the original Star Wars, but does like the prequels (he’s 6). I won’t even bother inflicting the new trilogy on him.
I did hear an interesting theory that Rey really wasn’t flying the Millennium Falcon, but that’s because Han wasn’t, either. I could write a text wall of details, but MatPat said it much better:
“Han Can’t Fly”

I finally started watching the Mandalorian. I was pleasantly surprised by how good it is. In my opinion, he is the true heir to Han Solo. He’s a straight-shooter who isn’t afraid to kick butt to get what he wants, but has an honorable heart hidden underneath his callous exterior.
Yeah, that’s basically who Han was until he took the carbonite bath, I’m still annoyed that in Jedi apparently his testicles never unfroze
Burn…
People have been unhappy with SW before and it did no good. Jar Jar Abrams could have fixed it and did not.

Now, the best option is to go to some remote part of the galaxy a long time ago and even farther away and find some people fighting the force. unaware of the Skywalker family spats. No R2s, no CPs, …all new and tell the stories of their local heroes…from scratch.
I’ll offer a possible new story line. An orange skinned hero unexpectedly arises with a distinctive hair-do and takes on the “Deep Force”. SW1-9 are dismissed as fake news.
My sister drug me to the theater today to watch this. It was ok, but only because my expectations were absurdly low.
I left Star Wars when they voided decades of Expanded Universe canon to make the new movies. I was rewarded for this by the fact that the new trilogy is horrendous.
Scott: are you giving spoilers?
Bill: Yes, but it doesn’t matter, no one’s going to see it.
That’s why I love you guys. That was great!
Of course, you can only “spoil” the movie for anyone still interested in this pile of Sith
Just came back from the cinema, I took back my son and his friend from the Star Wars
They were so angry, and they are just 15 (they just started this thing like 2 years ago)
And I heard some of Bill’s points comming from their mouths (they never heard of Bill or this channel)
What can I say …
P.S. our (second) dog’s name is Rey
Gess who gave him (its a male) this name…
Gess who said he regretted that
As the experts have said of JJ Abrams, “he never fails to fail.”
I agree with the assessment of Star Wars. I believe that old saying about the FAA applies “Were not happy until your not happy.” I guess that makes the new owners of Star Wars happy.
If Epstein had seen this movie, he would have killed himself, but he didn’t.
😅😅😅
Bravo!
BEST review of Ep. 9 EVER!!!
