A man leaps from the audience and tackles comic Dave Chappelle at The Hollywood Bowl — giving him ‘The Will Smith’ treatment. Chappelle jokes that his attacker was “a trans man”. Some random thoughts and reactions as i listen:

Jon Stewart’s “clown nose off” bit, less for insulting people and more for politics… “oh, I’m just making a joke.”

Don’t wrestle with a pig, you’ll only get dirty and the pig will enjoy it.

Blood in the water, sharks turning… as Glenn on Instapundit posts “Blue on Blue”

Re: Must buying Twitter – could be taken two ways: either projection on their side that what he says he doesn’t mean and will make it into the mirror of what they had, or since they depended on it (or thought it was their own private fiefdom/playground, he is taking away their “safe, cozy space” and they won’t have their toy anymore.

Platforms censoring the Right… might be more like bait and switch. They claimed to be open and for all, but reneged on that advertising.
Carrier vs publisher though, yep.

As for the “N-word.” I can call my friends “F–kwad”, “D–khead”, “Sh-t-for-brains”, “Bat guano crazy”, etc. (I don’t really, but that’s not the point), But I might punch some one who doesn’t know them using those words describing them. Same with the “N-word” and blacks.

I think some of the arguements against using the n word is that it is so bad people cannot even use it among themselves where others might hear (if you are in your own garage, no one else would hear, so they cannot complain) but if they do hear you using the word, it bothers them so much that it just should not be used in the company of others. Certain other vulgarities and profanities were “not spoken in mixed company” or phrases of the like, but it seems most of those Delicate Vases of Civilization have been broken.

Great conversation.
Inflation is hurting me and sometimes I think about suspending my membership, but Zo and Bill keep me centered.
It’s worth it.
…and Zo has made Christianity contagious. As I’m learning, it’s not taught but caught.

Another great irony in this is that Chapelle is noe too happy that the Soros-bought local DA won’t bring felony charges against his attacker. What was it that Mencken said about Democracy?
