The Work Never Ends

An Anvil Hornet is parked on Landing Pad 1 as a worker performs maintenance at Shubin Mining SCD-1 outpost.  The gas giant Crusader (Stanton 2) rises in the background over the thin, toxic atmosphere of its 2nd moon, Daymar (Stanton 2b).  The mining areas surrounding Shubin on Daymar are known for their rich deposits of Taranite, Tungsten, Titanium, Aluminum and Copper.

This will sound ignorant, because it is, but Mr. Malone, how does one access this universe and join whatever it is you want us to join? Does it cost something? Is there a basic primer on getting started somewhere?

Run little buddy, RUN! “Star Citizen” is a bottomless pit of time, money and frustration. It is the Dark Side. It seduces you with promises of power, wealth and fame and then leaves you sputtering in the gutter, coughing up blood and utterly spent. It’s too late for me, but you can still resist, you must resist the temptation…

Heheh Well, Mr. Ott, I’m glad you asked… completely unprompted by anyone who might employ you, I’m sure. There’s a lot in those questions, so let me sprint through it all.

These screen captures are directly from within the game engine of the Best Darned Space Sim Ever, Star Citizen, a video game which is in development now. This space sim game is the most ambitious project in history, and has broken every world record in crowd-funding, scale and bleeding-edge technology.

Within said ‘vidja game’, a group of us like minded individuals and roleplayers have created an Organization named the Aurora Republic… in short, America in space.

If anyone would like to join us in this adventure, just go to https://robertsspaceindustries.com/ and sign up. The starter ship packages begin at $45, and that is the only cash outlay required to purchase the game. And, if you use the referral code STAR-SP6M-VCZX, you’ll receive 5000 UEC (the in-game currency) extra starting cash.

Once you have a game package, visit the Aurora Republic Org Page and click the “Join Us” button to apply to our org.

TRUTH IN LENDING WARNING
Star Citizen is still in ALPHA (development), which means it is not a fully fledged game ready for prime time. Should you choose to purchase a game package and join the fun, you understand your purchase is a pledge to back the development of the game. These pre-release developmental patches are often unstable, crashing the game operation, as well as the features within are unfinished, iterative works in progress, glitchy, buggy and often frustrating. If you join, you are paying pledge money to be a PLAYTESTER, and should manage your expectations accordingly.

Thank you, Mr. Malone. No one prompted me to ask the question. I just went to the Star Citizen home page and couldn’t figure out what to do, where to start, or how to join your Republic. Now, I’m struggling against the might forces of my tight fist which grips my wallet with annoying tenacity.

Which is the best starter ship package for someone who hasn’t played video games with any intention since Galaxians…truth be told, Pong?

Of course, that is a matter of personal preference, as the two least-expensive starter packages are virtually identical in capabilities… single seat, modest cargo, light weaponry. So the only real difference is how they look.

That being said:

Aurora MR Starter Package and commercial.

Mustang Alpha Starter Package and commercial.

Again, use referral code STAR-SP6M-VCZX to get 5000 UEC extra starting cash.

Honesty in Lending
Do not spend rent or grocery money on this. This is a hobby!

Considering the $45 starter package is the only money required, I doubt it. But, should you choose to join this foolishness, you’ll get something better in the Aurora Republic… I’ll teach you personally. If you like.
