Hi, Guys,
I used to have a folder filled with “Stuff You Just Cannot Make Up”, but it exploded from internal pressure a couple of years ago. Now I just try to keep track of things that make you go Hmmmmm.
For today’s installment: I am a VietNam Vet and receive medical care at the VA Medical Center in Northport, NY.
I had my latest installment of COVID theater during a skin cancer surgery on my neck. It seems that surgeries of the head and neck require the Veteran to have same day COVID testing. So I did….and then went off to be sliced and diced. I noticed that the surgical team all removed their masks. When I was given the consent to sign, I thought it was appropriate to ask: “I passed my COVID screening this morning. When did you all pass yours?” The reply still makes me go Hmmmmm: “Oh, said the surgeon, we don’t get COVID screening since everyone is masked unless they have passed the same day screening so we are not at risk of exposure”. HMMMMMM!!
