Sydney Australia in the middle of the CBD. This islamist stabbed one woman several times in the back. She’s in a stable condition. Before he got to the next person this happened. 
He is pinned with two chairs and a milk crate. Hands crushed under boots & the knife taken away. The first uniformed officers there were fire brigade. The fire truck was just passing. The police station is less than a kilometre away.

Clearly an attempt at death by cop but that rarely works in Australia.

I saw the video and had to wonder whether the guy’s a true believer Jihadist, or was acting out some death wish along the lines of the “death by cop” suggestion above. He did walk around yelling “shoot me” several times, alongside “Allahu Akbar”. In any case “good on” the brave Aussies who took this guy down. You don’t have to figure out motive first, to do what’s right. I’d have been as tempted as his subduers with their colorful language to give that scumbag a taste of his own medicine.
Hope Australia has strong enough laws to keep this sick predator in prison for a very long time and not turn him loose on the people again.
Clearly it was the knife that caused the problem.
Prayers for both women and congrats to the folks who stopped and kept him alive.
Sadly another woman has been found dead near the point where the knife attack started. It seems he targeted women. I will not give the attackers name but its of Iranian origin.
