The University of Pennsylvania is an excellent institution of higher education. I refuse to let these idiots ruin it in order to salve their self-induced wounds of white guilt. P.S. Math is not racist. Dear Jeremy, A year ago, a couple dozen members of the Class of 1992 came together on Zoom in response to the question, “How can we create a community of true belonging for all members of our class when so many have been marginalized by society, our University, and many of our own individual actions or lack of action?” As a result of that conversation, we adopted the following statement to guide our planning for our 30th Reunion, which has also been embraced by the Classes of 1990 and 1991: Our class leadership strives to create an inclusive community that recognizes our shared humanity and develops a sense of belonging for all members of our class. And we recognize the challenges inherent in that goal given the past and present effects of systemic racism on members of our class. With less than a year until our reunion, we want to accelerate our efforts as three classes to jointly learn and act together to build the sense of belonging for all members of our classes. We invite you to join us on Tuesday, June 22 at 7pm ET on Zoom. The event will begin with time for connection in breakout rooms, followed by a discussion of the second season of the Penn SAS OMNIA podcast, In These Times, titled “Black Lives and the Call for Justice.” [Do not worry if you haven’t had a chance to listen to any or all of the six episodes; you can still join us.] We will then move into conversations about how we might approach our 30th Reunion differently in light of the issues raised in the podcast and among our classmates more generally. If you are unable to join us on June 22 but are interested in creating a more inclusive alumni class community, please complete the registration form so we can be in touch. We welcome your ideas and feedback, and we hope you will join us later this month. Hurrah for the Red and the Blue, |

Let your opinion known to THEM. Also if there is some board where ex students hang out, post your disgust there too.
Cancel them, Jeremy. Just cancel them.
Yes I could definitely do that, but ignoring the problem means giving them control which I detest. There are plenty of other things I’d rather do and frankly demand my time, but who else is going to stand up to this nonsense given the opportunity?
I don’t know. I’m still divided on what to do. Maybe I just rally the alumni on our side. Something tells me that lecturing them on a Zoom call is like trying to teach a pig to dance. The pig doesn’t learn and you just end up annoying the pig.
