For Scott — re Nancy Pelosi givinn up her money for children, etc. I once worked for a non0profit organizatiton. Betty was in charge of raising the money for the organization and she knew everyone iin town. And she said, “Money is like manure. Its no good unless you spread it around.”
I love the Lightning Round. Its fun, irreverent, and iconoclastic. Thanks, guys.
I’ve thought for a long time that anti-Semitism in all its forms is caused by a deep-rooted jealousy.
God promised Abraham that the blessing of the world would come through his progeny, and that was fulfilled when Jesus was born, a direct descendant of Abraham. Jews were singled out for a special purpose in this world, and called “God’s Chosen”. God picked them on purpose out of all the nations in existence at that time. That would seem patently unfair to anyone who didn’t do what Scott suggested, which is to study the history of the Jewish people and see the persecution and near-annihilation they suffered more or less from the beginning of their history. Anti-Semites are profoundly ignorant, and not very self-aware, and yes, very evil. They take delight in seeing Jews being singled out for pain, because they wish they had been chosen instead.
Parenthetically, God states plainly he did not choose them because they were so compliant and because they followed him wholeheartedly. He chose them because they were stubborn and rebellious, and he loved them in spite of that, as parents continue to love and discipline the stubborn and rebellious child. The story of the Bible is of their constant failure to obey, God imploring them to repent, their refusal to listen which resulted in harsh consequences, then the repentance and turning from evil and the deliverance God sent. Repeated over and over. They eventually lost the home that God gave them, and have only now been allowed to return to the place they were promised so many centuries ago. They are one of the principle characters in the history of mankind, and it’s no accident that evil people continually try to destroy them and short-circuit what is planned for them. Jealousy because the Jews are Chosen by God and hatred for God because He chose the Jews over everyone else.
Patriots in Dungeons and those suckling on the teat of our tax dollars flaunting the laws of this great land and not giving a tinkers damn as they know there are no consequences.
miley is a treasonous, pompous, unqualified ass, and. Pelosi?
sorry but I do not have a week to go into why she and her ilk should be behind bars…
General Modern Milley needs to go. He is an embarrassment to the uniform and all armed forces.
Scott, I share and appreciate your passion about the vile anti-Semites who share this country with us. Anyone who has ever seen the pictures of the mass graves that the Nazis filled with Jewish men, women and children and can still deny that the Holocaust ever happened is a fool who doesn’t belong in civil society.
In a nation of 330,000,000 the fact that those groups have a total of less than 1,352 crimes is amazing. Our leftist media doesn’t make money on amazing news, they make money on death and destruction.
“Get me the photos, I’ll give you the war.” William Randolph Hurst to photographer.
“If it bleeds, it leads.” Pretty much any media editor.
Anti-semitism is one of the truest, most reliable markers of pure evil.
I’ve said before that evil will always try to present itself as good. That can make it pretty tough to know when you’re dealing with real evil and not just some misguided person who thinks they’re doing good but aren’t. Anti-semitism is an indicator that you’re dealing with real evil. Because anti-semitism is not only a temporal ill, it’s has a spiritual component also.
For instance — One of the biggest tactics in anti-semitism is to blame all living Jews for any and all unfavorable acts of long dead Jews. This is no more rational than blaming all white people in America for the black slavery which existed here up until the Civil War ended slavery for good. In both cases irrational racism and injustice are the motivators whether the perpetrator wants to admit it or not.
It doesn’t matter if that blame takes the form of Christ-killers in deep history up to more modern things like the attack on the USS Liberty during the Six-Day War. The people, and they are people whether someone wants to admit that or not, who made those decisions are all dead and gone. They no more represent the Jewish People or The Jewish State of Israel than Stephen Douglas, James Earl Ray, Lee Harvey Oswald and the Supreme Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan are representative of all white people in America.
On the matter of “Christ-killers” … Jesus is Jewish and if you hate Jews you hate Him too. Jesus is not only Jewish, he’s as Jewish as it is possible to be and his Jewish lineage is carefully laid out in the Bible. He didn’t magically appear all un-Jewish on the stage of history. If it were not for Jesus and his fellow Jews there would be no Christianity today. The early Church was ALL JEWS. The entire Christian Bible was written by Jews. If you consider yourself a Christian you owe a debt of extreme gratitude to those Jewish people who founded your Faith.
A quick search for “USS Liberty” will bring up a solid wall of results condemning Jews in perpetuity. This is so irrational and so unreasonable that there must be a deeper explanation. Which is that evil isn’t concerned about rationalism and reason. Evil is only concerned with perpetuating its own existence. Anti-semitism is one way evil does that.
Another primary fallacy perpetrated by anti-semitism is “I don’t hate Jews, I disagree with the Israeli Government” … then go on to hate on every Jew in Israel. Who like us created and control their own government. It just so happens “coincidentally” that all those Jews are conveniently gathered in the millions all in one place where driving them into the sea and killing them all is an idea that appeals to anti-semites.
The modern Israeli Government is no more perfect than any other Western style Democratic Republic. The government of Israel makes mistakes just like we do and we’re making a ton of them right now but … It is a legitimate government of a State voted into existence by the people of planet Earth and recognized by a majority of the UN. That was back when the UN was actually a semi-functional organization. A Democrat American President named Harry S. Truman was the very first among all the nations to recognize the State of Israel.
Hiding behind “I don’t like the Israeli government” to excuse anti-semitism is cowardly. The difference is that if your position is such that your ideal agenda is to destroy that government and the people it represents then yours are not political conscience driven attitudes, they’re anti-semitism.
If you try to say that the Israeli government is not legitimate then you’re siding with anti-semitic lies of the Islamic enemies of Judaism. I find it remarkable that so many people who think they’re firmly in the realm of conservatism, who would not otherwise side with murderous, radical, barbaric, anachronistic Islamic terrorists — Can find this one very suspicious point of congruence with them.
There are so many arguments against the irrational points made by anti-semites that I could literally write a book about this topic.
If you object to Critical Race Theory and indulge in anti-semitism you’re a glaring hypocrite. That’s not OK.
The point here is that if you find yourself wallowing in an irrational, unreasonable hatred for a group of people based on their ethnicity and genetic composition then you’re a real, no-shit racist. Not a Leftist designated politically expedient arbitrary racist but a real racist. You can’t be that and be a good person and that applies all across the entire gamut of the human condition. It doesn’t matter if those you hate are white, brown, black, Jewish, Indian, or any other group. People are people and hating people on that basis is evil.
I think that the Right Angle shows should be revamped. Three or four substantive shows a week with only one Lightning Round every week is lopsided and makes for difficult topic coverage. Let’s have three LR’s each week and one deep dive show. Call it “The Vindication of Steve Green.” Just sayin’. I pause this post to observe the exploding heads.
Perhaps, along with divestment, Congressional salaries should be set, for each member, at the average gross income of taxpayers in each congressman’s district.
Doesn’t work due to the inequalities of incomes between various states.
Better option would be to build a several story House House and give each state a few rooms for the Rep and certain staff. Others that wish to work for the Congress would be residents of DC and could be paid by the House or Senate as other federal employees are (with all of the attendant issues of such income). You could get a few travel vouchers each period to return to your home state and if you want to fly first class you might not be able to fly as often. Take the bus and pocket the difference.
I would say that the reason the Jewish community has not been peeled off for victim-class status is that they already overwhelmingly vote for Democrats. So the Democrats don’t need to peel them off.
Perhaps this is the Lincoln quote that Bill referenced?
Bill, I am impressed that you were able to contain your bile while Scott was mockingly praising Pelosi for her care and concern about constituents.
A vow of poverty? Really? Those damnable congress critters don’t uphold any of their current vows/oaths — especially to the Consitution. Why would anyone expect them to abide by any new vow?
Perhaps the enforcement of their current oath is required instead of piling on another useless form of public lip service.
It might have been Tim Pool who made the point, “Wait a minute. Haven’t we been warned for the last year and a half how first responders are overworked and overwhelmed and now we’re just firing them?”
And if our hospital workers are being backfilled by the military, who’s going to serve as medics for our troops if fighting starts somewhere? Then again, given the “somewhere” that our top brass seems to be targeting, that might not necessarily be a bad thing…
General Milley Vanilli didn’t contradict Biden*. To clarify, Biden* didn’t say he wasn’t told; he said he does not remember. I genuinily believe that Biden* was being 100% truthful when he said that
Four options. 1) The three generals lied about what they told Biden. Then he’s somewhatoff the hook. 2) They told him and he doesn’t remember. Evidence of dementia (and there is other evidence.). Scary. Should be removed. I personally think this is the case. 3) He didn’t hear it. Again, scary. Either dementia again or almost deaf. Remove him. 4) He was told it, he heard it and remembered it. Then he is a liar. Don’t trust him. Remove him.
And if anyone in the MSM had an ounce of integrity or professionalism this story would be a screaming headline 24/7
Also would be a screaming headline if it happened under Trump. Which it wouldn’t.
“Thumbs up” – I see what you did there
Regarding the insider/outsider trading, if you look in the comments at Zero Hedge someone was kind enough to post links to show how congress is investing in the stock market:
The House
The Senate
