The nuclear codes are an off switch not a launch button. They never gave the US president a unilateral ability to launch anything at anyone. So if “Peril” is correct Milley is blocking Trump from doing something that is actually impossible anyway. Milley may be that dumb if his grasp of Trump’s foreign and defense policy. This is why I think Trump will arrange a three way primary with Him, Pompeo and Cheney to thrash out in public the basics of foreign policy and defense policy. He needs to get the neocons to plant a flag so he can tear it down. He needs to articulate the alternative to being the global police man, regime change and strategic deployments. The result will not be anything like the neocon plan, or lack there of, or the pacifist US isolationism both libertarians and some on the left want.
However Trump has other fish to fry in the next few months; McCarthy et al. Trump is being strategically neutral but its his people fighting to get a new RNC leadership.
