Post your questions here for Bill Whittle that he may draw from a deep well of queries on tonight’s livecast of The Stratosphere Lounge. The “show” streams live on Twitch starting at 9 p.m. Eastern/6 p.m. Pacific, but you may also watch it here on the Members-only site. To delve into the TSL archive, click here.

is TSL postponed or something?
Am for the first time attempting to watch it live on twitch, clicked link and am at TSL page, but it says ‘it’s empty in here’. Not a twitch user, does one need to log in or what?
Just saw on his FB that its Natasha’s 3rd anniversary of entry into the USA. They’re “on assignment “
Too bad the guy who posted this question thread isn’t on Facebook. Sorry about that. Perhaps some of these questions will keep until next week.
Glad Bill is OK! I think it’s good strategy for you and I to stay off Facebook, Scott. There have to be some survivors left if/when the soul-eating FB cybervirus hits. I’ll count it an honor to battle the undead hordes alongside you, Sir.
why do we constantly have discussions about guns and none of them are about restoring rights lost?
How do you feel about universal basic services? Here’s my thought:
We could provide very basic services – no frills, no choices, no extras.
– Housing that is very small, comes with sturdy furniture bolted to the floor/walls, and climate controls inaccessible to the resident.
– Clothing that is durable but drab
– Food that is nutritious, inexpensive, and provided on a daily basis
– Medical care in a neighborhood clinic
– Education available, but not mandatory
These free services are available to any citizen (illegal immigrants?), but they are specifically made to be very undesirable, so people are encouraged to get back on their feet and join the rest of the world.
It’s harsh, but it provides for the needs of the people, not their desires.
After over 10 years of court battles, environmental impact studies, cultural impact studies, and every other bit of red tape, the Thirty Meter Telescope (TMT) was finally granted approval to start construction on top of the tallest mountain in the world, Mauna Kea in Hawaii. On the day construction was to start, a band of native Hawaiians showed up and blockaded the only road up the mountain, completely halting construction. They refuse to leave. For 3 months now, there has been a stalemate, and the government seems powerless to enforce the law.
Are we no longer a country of laws, but now one of outrage mobs?
Going to keep posting this.
SCRIPT WRITING Question.
I have recently re-watched Star Trek on Netflix and beyond the scripts holding up well have noticed that most of the episodes run nearly 50 minutes. More modern fare such as Mad Men are closer to 42 minutes.
As a writer what does that extra 18-19% of time mean to story arc, character development. Is it possible that the reason many of us think TV was better back in the day, is because it was better due to more available screen time?
Would love your comments on the new upcoming documentary on Trayvon Martin fiasco … you can watch the 3 minute trailer here on youtube … https://youtu.be/8OSPSnm26iY
Since you often discuss how “Politics is downstream from culture”, have you read Kurt Schlichter’s Kelly Turnbull books about how a red state/blue state America would look? I think they’d make great movies – good stories, great action and they hilariously mock Leftists. The movies would be despised by lefties but would appeal to the half of the country that doesn’t want to destroy this country.
How is a tariff not just a tax on American consumers. I voted Trump. Will do so again. But tariffs are a tax on me as a consumer. Importers of goods we buy will just pass the cost along, causing inflation.
Is the pain caused by tariffs Trumps a way of shaming American consumers to buy American goods (at even higher prices IF they are even made here, which most are not).
Totally respect your opinion and thought. So, just so I understand, tariffs that we have to pay for are really meant to cause or coerce us to significantly purchase fewer made in china goods….and that drop in revenue from the US to China will then force China to see the error of their ways, change their course, and do what we ask?
Still interested in this one, so trying it again: Jordan Peterson has said that the logical conclusion of “intersectionality” is individualism — the implication being that maybe instead of fighting this lunacy of pitting one micro-group against another, we should cheer “faster, please!” I don’t want to let myself take too much false hope from this perspective, since I doubt the Left will ever give up the perpetual grievance wars that are their means to power, but he does seem to make a good point and I wonder what you think about this idea, Bill.
My question is: are the people – not the rabid left – getting tired of all this fascist progressivism, the antifa, the de-testosteroning of the young men, the ultimate ‘transformation’ of America? If so, I agree with ‘faster, please’, so that we as a culture can make the turn back to – what, conservatism?
Tell us more about your trips to the gun range. What types of weaponry do each of you like most? How often do you go? You’ve said that Natasha is a better shot than you, do you score your outings (ie similar to the 250 point qualification test for a License to Carry in Texas)? Any other stories you care to share?
