Venezuelan Violence: Will American Socialists Finally Learn the Lesson?

As another socialist experiment draws to a close in bloody violence, Venezuelan collapse seems to have no impact on the American Socialists who strive to take over the Democratic party, and then the country. When will they learn the lesson that socialists schemes inevitably end in starvation, chaos and military force against the commoners politicians pretend to love?

One of the best Right Angles that I’ve ever seen. Well said. We MUST get our education system fixed so that our children learn the truth about these things so they don’t grow up to be ignorant socialist adults. Lead on.

An interesting thing to keep in mind is that when Maduro took all the guns away from Venezuelan citizens, he said that he was doing it “for the children.”

Sound familiar?

It’s not just the delusional ones that believe that socialism is the perfect solution for everything, it’s also the apathetic ones that seem to think that it won’t [really] affect them, so why make such a big deal out of it? I bang my head against the wall trying to get a select group of friends to understand that cracking the door open only opens it wider and wider over time until it’s too late to do anything about it. But they’d rather dwell in their own happy little universe where nothing bad ever happens, and whatever anyone believes is just fine.

This country is becoming more and more polarized, in part because of the Socialism issue. Some of my friends aren’t friends anymore because THEY decided I was an evil Nazi racist homophobic Islamophobic xenophobe since I’m a capitalist and Trump supporter. So much for “tolerance and inclusion”. Some of my other Socialism-loving friends are still friends, only because **I** have made the effort to keep the friendship intact and must avoid any mention of politics when we’re together (and STILL sometimes I’m treated poorly).

Lately I’m feeling more like Bill… damn sick of trying to accommodate these condescending, oh-so-virtuous “friends” who would (if they could) bring Venezuelan-style Socialism right here… and they don’t want to discuss the issue because they might learn things that challenge their shaky belief systems. I’m done with it… done with them. Enough is enough. Thanks for helping me make the decision.

Right there with you. Fortunately we moved to a small town with values like ours. We are making new friends. I have sympathy for the old ones, given the hell they live in, but no desire to communicate with them again and see the hate lines growing deeper on their faces.

Going off Scott’s mention of the next smallest form of government, the family, a good way to make the concept of socialism and its inevitable betrayal failure hit home is having people think about their family or a neighbor or friend. If they have been to college and shared an apartment this also works. Everyone that has lived in a shared environment knows at least someone who was a slacker, someone that didn’t pull their fair share of weight. Many have had a coworker who got by because everyone else did 110% to make for the the 70% job someone did.

That’s socialism’s built in flaw, the tragedy of the commons, the reason the first colony at Plymouth rock failed, and why, when you add shysters, stealers and sly salespeople as a government, you end up with bread lines and bodies.

This is the same Ilhan Omar who has loudly professed her hatred for Jews and Israel, (mostly with the blessing of the Left and the media) and then blamed Trump for violence in synagogues. Yeah, okay…
I’m just waiting for somebody to initiate a Recall Election. Hopefully soon.

Here is the short story of my life. I was born into abject poverty. Had to learn to work hard at a very young age(thanks to my father!). Was working for my clothes and food by age 14 and not because my parents didn’t care for me, they did. We were just poor. We did NOT have a bad life. We were just poor. Same story for my wife, just a different set of circumstances. Together we worked and clawed while raising a large family of 7 kids. Now, in our late 40’s our willingness to work and be flexible and work more than one job, raise kids, and go to school has paid off. We are solidly upper middle class now with professional careers. We have 2 kids left in high school, and others in college. I NEVER EVER blamed a rich man for my station in life. I never envied a wealthy person. I instead set goals and so did my wife and we have achieved them. Nothings perfect, and if life deals me a blow or two, I still won’t blame xyz corporation or a rich man for my troubles. Envy and jealousy destroy character. You are much better off putting that energy into planning and working and achieving instead of blaming a system or a rich person. What a waste….. Going through life angry and jealous of others. Get off your @$$ and make something out of yourself!! Never in the history of mankind has all the worlds knowledge been available at your fingertips on a phone or computer. People sincerely have no excuses for being a failure anymore. YouTube is loaded with tutorials and how to videos on every subject imaginable. All that seems to be missing is a willingness to work and be flexible. I have zero sympathy.

This is a new documentary on Netflix. It seems the obamas, who are now on the panel of Netflix, paid big bucks.
The documentary on the “four brave new congresswomen. The title is”
“knock down the house” Disgusting! Free advertising for these socialists. Tried to paste a frame from the “documentary” but it will not let me.

One point in the middle that shouldn’t get lost…”we need to get the government out of the economy and make it easier for people to make wealth” RIGHT ON! If you go to 3rd world countries you find politicians at every level right in the middle, with their hand out, requiring you to have their permission to do trade. That is what makes people poor. That is ‘little socialism’!

Did I miss it, or did one of you mention that it was only 2012 when Venezuela confiscated all the weapons. Maybe I need to listen closer.
It’s another thing they all have in common. Stalin, Hitler Venezuela, etc. Lather rinse repeat.

Righteously Indignant Scott Ott is the best Scott Ott.

But Scott, don’t take this the wrong way, I truly, truly, TRULY, wish that we would never have to see that Scott Ott anymore.

I know. But a man can dream can’t he?

I presume that what you desire is nothing to be righteously indignant about.

Now that I am home, and had a chance to watch the video.

What. The. Hell.

So help me, I am thisclose to quitting. High School students who love socialism become college students who love socialism because their learning institutions control the flow of information. Messages like the one in this video are never heard by those who need to hear it most, because the ideas are *censored*.

I’m shaking right now. Literally shaking that I could not watch this at work. If I can’t, the students can’t. The State remains unchallenged.

Damn.

It never works on college campuses with their grades. If all A+ were brought down to C’s and F’s were brought up to C’s. They don’t want it. It is unfair. It is always unfair to take from one to give to another. Those who have wealth choose to give their wealth to people and organizations of their own choice. Americans are the most generous people in the world and capitalism allows this to happen.

But Bill, what about the existential ennui that lays like a miasma over capitalist nations trapping the proletariat mind in a never ending cycle of produce/consume?

What about that?

Huh?

To answer the question raised in the title of the post:
(In Ron Howard’s Arrested Development narrator voice): “Actually, they won’t.”

Same for me now. I can only watch before work and when I get home. And I actually like to talk to my wife, so don’t want to lose that.
