The COVID-19 pandemic has clearly changed the way many people think about the federal government. Can Conservatism survive COVID-19? What will become of ideas like limited government, lower taxes, fiscal responsibility, less regulation and federalism?

Stay within the box?! Bill?!
Bill, point #1 on fiscal is spot on. Ditto 2 on federalism. Outstanding on 3 but not convinced entirely on spot on EXCEPT the part about Trump cutting regs! But, hey, they do go hand in hand! On 4, I agr with you on China 100% (bases on current under) but as for taxation, i think we should tax all quintiniallionaires (sp.) at 99.999%! 😆. On #6, Scott great leading question. Bill, spot on answer.
Bill, I enjoyed your explanation of what it means to be a conservative. And you did it all without once mentioning the author of conservatism, Jesus Christ. Of course, one doesn’t’ have to be a Christian to be conservative, because as the Bible explains in Romans 2:14, “For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves.” Even though unbelievers reject the vertical commandments 1 – 4 (i.e. man’s relationship to God), they at least do by nature the things contained in the horizontal commandments 5 – 10 (i.e. man’s relationship to each other).
Great episode guys. Scott liking the beard man. It suits you. Keep rocking it. You guys are great and we all appreciate what you do every day.
Benjamin Franklin called it 250 years ago, trading your liberty for security is stupid, especially as nobody can actually deliver that security to you regardless of how much of your liberty you’re willing to sacrifice.
Typically, Socialism gains traction in the midst of difficult times because the free market fails to respond in a compassionate way towards those who are suffering most. America has proven once again that it can be socially compassionate without being Socialist. Watching Bernie say that Trump is stealing his ideas makes me laugh. We are a compassionate nation and we’ve been given the chance to prove it. #KeepAmericaGreat
