Where do we begin?
We begin by gathering together with a common goal.
What is that goal?
The goal is to restore faith in our constitutional system of government, and to restore our United States government to a system of, by and for the people.
How to we achieve that goal?
With a party or association dedicated to a series of principles that lead us to that goal.
What are those principles?
This is what we need to iron out. I believe this to be our true starting point. A contract in line with our Constitution stating what we will and will not do to achieve our goal. One of them is what Bill talked about last night that I fully agree with. To only serve one term in each office.
Other things I think should be included in a new contract with the American citizen should include:
Eliminating all programs that are not essential to the governance of the American citizen until such a time when there is a surplus to cover wants beyond those needs.
Leading by example meaning that there is no unnecessary spending while serving the people. Not only do our federal representatives get a generous salary, they also have expense accounts along with generous benefits. I believe a frugal person could easily forgo using those expense accounts and make due with what they earn. This is not some game where you spend all that is available to you. Our goal would be to do more with less.
Writing and passing bills based on the merit of each bill alone. No deals, no tit for tat, no sneaking things in that are not based on the main intent of the bill itself. Voting against most bills that still follow the deal making concept.
Ultimate transparency. National security is the only exception, however it is not a catch all for things that shouldn’t be even considered.
Examining and repealing laws that obviously go against the bill of rights.
A change in foreign policy. We are neither the police nor are we the social safety net of the world. We need our house in order as an example for other countries to follow or join at their discretion. We should partner with friends and allies, and only defend ourselves from those that are a direct threat. We do not make war to benefit big business or the industrial military complex.
We are not the safety net of big business. If they cannot survive on the principles of the free market alone, they probably should fail. If that business leaves a vacuum of some sort, the free market will correct itself.
Promoting and recognizing people of good character, and conversely denouncing people or at least the actions of people actively demonstrating poor character. This does not include vilifying people that have gone on to rectify past history by changing and improving themselves. People that are willing to recognize their faults and redeem themselves are deserving of forgiveness in many but not all cases.
Anyways, these are some ideas. I recommend a council of interested parties come up with and ratify a contract to the American citizen that all members of the group adhere to, along with provisions to hold them accountable or remove them from support by the group should they actively or intentionally break this contract. This is where I think we should begin. From there, we nominate people from the group to start running for office based on the agreed upon principles.
There are common goals that all people of reasonable character agree on. We agree murder is bad. We agree theft by force is bad. Yet our government participates in these things against our will. We should be an example as a country as a beacon of hope, yet our actions are one of an evil empire for many inside and outside of our borders.
Oh, and a catchy name helps too. One that conveys intent.
American Restoration Group
Constitutional Citizens Party
American Values Restored
Contract for a better America
Citizens for reasonable governance
Citizens by example
Leadership by example
Beacon of hope
We the people
Let’s get this ball rolling and save the country that we love. If we don’t, who will?

Read this and offer suggestions. I’m about to make what I hope are the the final revisions. I’ll take into consideration everything in your post, too.
Also, several of us are already operating under the MB2A name. I’ll have a post soon about a new secure comms tool.
Will do.
Michael Piz is working on somewhat of a contract.
