An Afghan mother of six, faces the impossible decision to sell her daughter to a wealthy man in order to feed her other five children. She provides a snapshot of Taliban Afghanistan where some 95 percent of people suffer hunger in the wake of the U.S. retreat. Should Americans send food? Would it even get to the hungry people? How can we separate a despotic government from its oppressed and impoverished people?

We’re finished with Afghanistan, but the presstitutes who are pushing sad Afghan stories aren’t finished with us. To coin Marlon Brando in the Godfather, “they keep pulling me back in.” Let me be clear….Biden asked that the planes be loaded to the flaps with as many unvetted Afghans as possible. When the terror attacks start up again, we will have plenty of sad stories of our own to worry about.
We will soon have to decide if WE want to help ourselves to preserve our portion of liberty or not.
Shouldn’t we be more concerned with the Marxist coup and the madness and the totalitarian tactics of the Biden regime and the vaxxers? Look! A squirrel!
Did you really believe that story??? C’mon guys. Are you THAT GULLIBLE? Let’s see .. who gave out that sob story (fake) .. why it wouldn’t be the lying socialist media, would it?
A bold font does not validate your vacuous claims. Please provide evidence for your implications.
Your blinding cynicism pales my own
Just imagine if all the funds that the UN spends would be directed to micro loans….
This reminds me of that one time downtown with my mother when our family was struggling. Mom, if you’re reading this, I understand that you did what you had to do, but did you have to move?
I’ve been around the world and am very aware of some of the horrible things that happen out there. No country, even this one, can fix all of the worlds ills. Even if we step in we aren’t fixing it, just band-aiding it. Each country has to figure out how to fix itself on it’s own if it is to be a permanent solution. And if we don’t agree to their “fix” it still isn’t our problem.
Band-aiding? Most of the “support” money and resources are going directly to the suppressors and other parties that are creating the mess.
You think giving that few billion military equipment to the taliban lately was an outlier?
Most of the measures you see is only good to preserve and prolong whatever you see is “wrong”. Including things like accepting “refugees”.
I.e. few years ago we saw the numbers from Siria. Like 5 million went out and another 6M moved around in the country. That is more than half of all the population. 11M people moving could have install whatever regime or fix all the BS is working on that.
The relevant help would have been arrange a hard embargo around, nothing in or out for any reason. The people stuck inside would have sorted out the situation is months. Or at worst would run out of bullets.
INstead it is a great opportunity to profiteer and virtue signal burning my money. And still can be sold to people as “help”, “aid” and in general a good thing.

As I have said before on here, I am connected to MANY Afghans who are in hiding and desperate. Most of my day is spent in messaging to keep them from total despair. We are getting food and meds to some families without getting government involved. If you want to help with that and know that your donations are going to a truly good place, then go to http://www.epekinternational.org . We are in contact with families who are receiving help through this organization. They are feeding the poor in Afghanistan and are also doing the same for refugees in Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
Sadly, the pathological altruism that is behind much of the “charity” perpetrated on behalf of cultures who have shown zero interest in altering their cultures to conform to Western values contribute or make worse the problem they appear to want to fix. Pathological altruism achieves one purpose, which is to give the entities performing their “acts of generosity/kindness” the warm fuzzy feeling of superior goodness. The outcome of their kindness is unimportant. Feeling good about themselves is what counts.
All Americans are the biggest patsies of all time. Every sob story that comes long is supposed to be solved (ie. funded) by dumb US politicians that use our money to buy their jobs and wealth. Never ceases to amaze me that women of the poorest nations reproduce the most children then sob how they can’t take care of them. They have a piece of bread, no roof, no education, no skills and then just push out babies expecting the world to take care of them. Also tired of every US sob story is immediately (like in the first hour) seen in GoFundme. Time for somebody to GoFundMe. That’s why we have 3M illegals coming from 152 countries to get in on the cash cow. It won’t stop until there are bodies floating down the Rio and we get serious about defending our “home”.
I agree with most of your post. However, I have to take exception to your comment about the women of the poorest nations, etc. I grew up in Nigeria in the Muslim-dominated northern region. Muslim men are allowed 4 wives + as many concubines as they can afford. To divorce one of them all he has to do is drag her in front of a couple of witnesses and holler, “I divorce you” three times. And she is out the door and then what? No one else wants her as a wife either. So they toe the line, particularly as regards conjugal relations. They also are not allowed contraception. The average age in all of Nigeria is 19 which tells you not only are they dying young due to the rampant diseases but that they are having numerous babies.
Apparently you were able to escape this male heaven and migrate to a free (well it used to be) nation. If all the women are that abused & used then they need to also escape or maybe quit putting out. When there are no females to breed the population growth will diminish and when only males are left their society will cease to exist. Freedom isn’t free, it comes with a price tag.
There are thousands, maybe millions of stories just like this family all across the globe. As Bill alluded, you can’t save the world unless they are willing to be saved.
I don’t see evidence that the Taliban is stupid about technology. Their belief system may be antiquated, but as a government, they have computer people and PR people. They have a Twitter account. Their soldiers have trigger discipline (per distributed pictures). It’s not going to help to underestimate their resources.
I am a supporter of Kiva, a purveyor of micro loans. Millions of loans have been made by this organization and my original investment of $500 has made thousands of dollars available since the loans were repaid and I reloaned it. They key to their success that there is no government organization involved. However, there are organizations in the countries where the loans are made who evaluate those who need the funds. I doubt that can be done in Afghanistan.
In addition, I established a nonprofit (Groundbreakersnj) that is rescuing women from prostitution in Kenya, training and equipping them to start their own business to repay the small loan given to them. Thousands of women are now self supporting and their children will not be sold into the sex trade.
That is a very encouraging report. I can understand that a Islamic theocracy based on tribal identity with practically no economic base would make such efforts impossible. The corruption and control by their rulers would get right in the middle of such a grass roots effort and strangle its growth. It is a great evil they face.
I smell a rat here. We are at a point here where all sorts of international goody-goodies are agitating to have us give more “humanitarian” aide to these dirt bags. All of a sudden, out of the blue, this horror story emerges. Coincidence? Duh.
Once again we are getting played.
We left Afghanistan for all sorts of reasons; some better than others. The compelling reason was that we decided that we could not/did not want to be policeman to the world. As with Vietnam we refused to fight to win; we fought to some sort of ugly morass that was ugly to retreat from.
Let others work to set Afghanistan “right”- China, Pakistan, whoever. Let them put up, we tried. They (all of them) conspired to have us fail. We’re done.
aghanistan is worse than most countries but for sure there are other hell holes and that’s just a fact. haiti, north korea, iran, mozambique and more. the citizens of those countries are caught in a vortex not unlike what we are here in america. bad people running things, more bad people supporting their nefarious and evil chicanery and not (nearly) enough good people to stop them.
it’s the circle of life and where it ends up is anyone’s guess. when hitler was finally vanquished most of the world thought evil had been buried for a 1000 years. well…turns out that wasn’t the case and it was never going to be thus. the good guys don’t always win. the forces for good could eradicate evil in afghanistan in meer days if it had the will and/or the resoluteness necessary.
with so many blue states becoming (or already) complete trainwrecks and no end in site for relief perhaps we should look inward and develope some sort of plan that would flush these evil vermin who are destroying our once great constituional republic, from our lives. at 73 i’m nobodies idea of a william wallace or maximus meridius but we need someone to step up and soon.
respects to all.
