Glad to see you two are going out to the range in spite of the cost of ammunition right now. I too am a shooter and the wife and I go out once a week and this past week expended 400 rounds of 9mm and 100 rounds of .40 cal. Since I reload ALL my ammunition, it costs me 7 cents a round to shoot one bullet in either 9mm or ,40 cal. Here in Oklahoma we do not have all the insane restrictions on gun ownership or ammunition purchases that you ” Bill” have in the people’s republic of California.

I’m also a shooter and reloader; you have to reload if you shoot a lot else be rich. The only thing I buy is 22LR but haven’t in some time as I bought a “few bricks” back when it was cheap. I’ve also got several cases of cheap Russian ammo for my Ak and SKS; dirty stuff, but just clean your firearms thoroughly after firing. I shoot that stuff when I just want to pop a bunch of caps and blow shit up. I have some hand loads for my SKS that are impressive at 150 yds. My home defense piece is an old Remington 870 pump riot gun with the extended magazine and parkerized finish. The barrel and magazine end in a cool-looking clamp that incorporates the front sight. She’s also chamber in 3-inch Mangum, a real cannon, and I like 00 buckshot; a bit messy, but it gets the job done. Another benefit of a pump is that if someones in your dark house at night all you have to do is chamber that puppy, and if they can’t find a door, they’ll make a new one. Anyone who doesn’t know that sound deserves to be shot. I’ve got a 40 cal too, a Sig. I like it, you? Mine has good stopping power and the recoil is manageable even though the Sig is a light handgun compared to a lot of others in that caliber.

Oh, that’s nothing, Bill. Few months ago, I was driving down the freeway next to a convertible Mustang. The couple in the car were both wearing masks. Doin’ 80. On the freeway.

I’ve got relatives in Austin; you’re so right. Progressive land. Everybody moving from California comes to Austin, Dallas-Fortworth. I’m in Houston, little Mexico.

Saw my first man with 2 masks on. One was the surgical type blue/white and over it was a “specialty” mask that looked like the stars & stripes.
My mind started like a skip on a record, “does not compute . . . does not compute”.

We have a lot of masked virtue signalers here in the Soviet Republic of New York, even here in the slightly less oppressive provinces of Buffalo and Rochester.

Maybe someone posted it here: I saw a panel cartoon somewhere this past week of How Texans Are Getting Californians to Leave Texas and Go Back to California (i.e., lifting the mask mandate, cartoon showed freaked out Californians running away from a guy in a cowboy hat).

Steve, and anyone else that doesn’t like having the masks pulling on your ears for whatever reason I fully recommend https://faceclearmask.com/ even without the adhesive you can pick it closed enough to stay in place if you aren’t doing a lot of moving or with a wind blowing at you. Your breath is angled down do your glasses don’t fog up in the least. Besides, from a short distance it can be hard to actually see, so it gets some people to look askance at you for a few seconds until you point out that you are indeed wearing an even better mask than they are.

Also FYI, an actual factual contractual obligation album was ‘The Sicilian Defence’ by The Alan Parsons Project. It was a slapdash throwaway album in 1979, merely (and kinda spitefully) fulfilling their contract with Arista Records. It was finally released a few years ago. Actually pretty good (but by Alan Parsons’ standards well-nigh unlistenable.)

Stephen, Fenix Ammunition, if you get on their mailing list, announces ammo releases the day before. You have to be ready, though. Last week 389,000 rounds of 9mm went in under 2 minutes.
I’d love to hear where other people are finding 9mm ammunition online.

I got those 300 rounds of 9mm at Ammoman for the pretty price of $222.

But I did order a G44 .22LR to train with. Same size as my G19, but won’t cost $12 every time I empty a magazine downrange.

I have the G-sight laser cartridge system in 9mm, .40 cal., .380, and .45 cal. It works fine and gives me additional trigger time at home but does lack the authenticity of live fire at the range.

I have a GSG 1911A1 -22 and 11,000 rounds of .22lr that I bought at $22 a box of 525 rounds and a Ruger SR22 as well as a 10/22 that I am very happy to practice with!.

Scott, I am very experienced with a 38 special and .45 ACP, but the first time I fired a .44 Magnum, it almost jumped out of my hand even though I thought I was ready for it. The only thing I personally know of that’s bigger than that is the .50 Desert Eagle, which I want no part of! There is a kind of smell to smokeless gunpowder that gets into your blood and gets the adrenaline running, don’t you think? It is addictive!

I’d like to see an automatic pistol that uses the .30 carbine round.

I agree– the ‘smell of cordite’ is simultaneously soothing and stimulating!
BTW, there was an Automag by AMT chambered in .30 carbine back in the 80’s… Kinda looked like an elongated 1911:-) Long slide and long grip (front strap to back strap, to accommodate the cartridge length)
But, if you like the 38 Special, you can still get a Ruger Blackhawk in .30 carbine… you know, for those days you’re in the wheel-gunner mood!

There are no mask mandates where I am – perhaps 1% of people wear them when shopping. The only store that mandates masks is the Apple Store. Which is why I will never darken their doorstop again.

She reminds me of a girl I knew in college. When I first met her I thought she was really pretty. Then I got to know her. When I saw her again after a few weeks, I couldn’t believe i thought she was hot. Personality impacts beauty.

My father in law was like that. An actress he found out was mean became unattractive. His wife might casually mention, while they were watching a movie, “isn’t Elizabeth Taylor gorgeous”, and he would not agree. (this was after she had stolen a few husbands.)

He did sort of have to request special treatment as a prince. A lot of secrecy was required for him to serve on or near the front lines. And then word got out and he had to go home abruptly. It’s arguable that his insistence on serving in a war zone put his comrades at extra risk. But I think he was right to do it.

Steve, Cuomo did not do anything as evil as Whitmer, she put covid infected convicts from prisons and covid infected mental patients in with the elderly, there is video of a mental patient beating an old man he had to share a room with. Also Whitmer’s body count is much higher and way more covered up.

All I can tell you is the people of NY have had enough of Cuomo! That’s a fact you can take to the bank. One Republican Assemblyman said he was going to bring articles of impeachment against him. Let’s see how far that goes. The State Constitution has no recall provision.

You’ve got to take into account that Upstate and NYC are 2 different worlds. It’s the only city that I’m aware of that has it’s own income tax! Upstate has enough conservatives to make Texas proud. It’s just that they don’t control anything!

Colorado (I just left there) was once a great state, but Denver has ruined the laws/policies of the state.
Denver is filled with blue far left crazies and has more population than the rest of the state combined.
So, like you, I was living in a state where I had no say over how the state was run even though 70% of the state was conservative.
Colorado is a little Cali now. The governor bought a multi-million dollar condo in Boulder (trendy area) while not allowing citizens to open their businesses, go to work, etc.

I’m going to keep on wearing a mask when I’m in a crowd, not because I have to, it’s just my wife is “super sick” and I don’t want to bring anything home. At least I live in a state that lets me decide and do what I think is right. God blessed Texas.

Very happy you get the right to choose. On a side note, washing your hands and not touching your face while the mask is on, will do more to keep you from infecting your wife than the cloth you have over your mouth. The reason why kids get sick and bring it home to the parents is because they interact with other kids and touch everything. Not because they sneeze/cough on them. We only wear masks in Georgia when we have to by companies. We see all the time folks wearing masks while driving alone in cars. Crazy. I hope Georgia rescinds it’s mask laws soon.

Please go to the FLCCC website and find a doctor from their list who will prescribe ivermectin for your wife and yourself. Then you will not have to be afraid anymore, because you either won’t get it at all, or your case will be so mild you won’t notice.

I told people back in the day not to vote for Clinton. I lived in Arkansas when he was AG and Governor.

I think we’ll never know how lucky we were that Hillary didn’t win. But now we have just as/worse in Biden.

I am convinced Biden is worse, because he is mentally incompetent and the Presidency is currently operated by faceless power mongers who were not elected. At least with HRC, we would have seen the face of the beast on camera.

Agree. But I also all our Pres’s had someone pulling their strings. That’s why whether we vote Dem or Rep, we still get the same crap.
Two side of the same coin. All (with few exceptions) will sell their souls and our country to keep/gain power and money.
