While the simple answer to the question is “yes”, keep in mind that our country is in the midst of a cold civil war where one side is yet to fire a single shot.
The Radical Left will be very unhappy when that changes
An old friend who was an Army Ranger taught me the wisdom of, “Hope for the best; prepare for the worst.” I think we would do well to heed that wisdom now.
Sister Babe gets annoyed when I mention the possibility that we might need to leave The People’s Republic of Arlington, VA relatively quickly if things go sideways. Right now I have us taking small steps that we should do anyway (taking better care of ourselves, decluttering the house, etc) & hopefully it will be for a big deal out of nothing. But I also point out that what’s happening now is pretty damned close to how thinsg started in Venezuela. Everyone says “it can’t happen here” until it does. Personally, I’d be thrilled to be wrong & truly hope that I am. But I’ll be damned if I let us potentially get caught completely off guard thanks to ignoring the distant thunder.
Ms. Corriher has amazing insight that is much appreciated. I find it amusing that a former British citizen has more of a love for America than many born here. I’m a citizen of the US who retired from her Armed Forces, but, I too am a naturalized citizen, having been born in a former British Commonwealth. While I’m somewhat amused at the irony, I’m deeply saddened. Our youth have been brainwashed. Tragic!
