A Dangerous Place

Twenty dead, twenty-six wounded in El Paso. The shooter apparently a twenty-one year old man who was reportedly living at home with his parents while playing violent video games and fantasizing about being a mass shooter.

Immediately, politicians start the anti-gun diatribe. Texas Rep. Cesar Blanco, a Democrat, said he planned to work with Governor Abbott and other Republicans “To make sure these type of tragedies don’t happen again.”

What? How was he going to do that? Want to guess? Ban guns of course. How about banning violent video games, and requiring that all copies of same be turned in and destroyed? How about banning all the violent movies produced by Hollywood? At least require that all gun free zones be abolished. The Cielo Vista Mall apparently is a posted “Gun Free Zone” aka: “Free Fire Zone” for mentally disturbed shooters, criminals or terrorists.

I have a suggestion for the American Bar Association. Encourage your members to solicit clients who have been affected by the violence which seems to be drawn (for obvious reasons) to these supposedly safe areas. Airport style security should be required in ALL areas advertised as “Gun Free”, with metal detectors and armed guards policing the facility one hundred percent of the time that it is open for business. In a broad sense, that could mean hundreds of millions of people, including anyone who feels a sense of anxiety being told that their Second Amendment right doesn’t exist there.

The policies of the Democratic Party, which is actively promoting ignoring laws which they don’t agree with, has created an environment where people make up their own rules as they go along. Speed LIMITS, for instance, become merely suggestions, to be observed or ignored at will. However, God help a Concealed Weapon Permit holder who knowingly violates any of the posted restricted areas. They are subject to arrest and their CWP suspended on the spot. We are rapidly reaching a point where ALL our laws are becoming merely suggestions to a certain segment of society, and that is a very dangerous place indeed.

Here we go again. I feel deeply saddened by the deaths, but the solutions offered by politicians are nothing but attempts for CONTROL!

No More Infringements! Give an inch and miles and miles will be taken.

And I totally agree with Elizabeth!

I absolutely would insist that any establishment that is posted “Gun Free” shall be liable for any and all death and injury involving guns. That will force any gun free establishment to either implement airport-style security, or wake up from their insanity.
