Afghanistan Has Fallen: The Unbearable Shame of the Botched U.S. Exit

With the Taliban now firmly in control of the country, we’re left to wonder how American politicians and military planners could have underestimated the terror that would strike the hearts of Afghanis.

Bodies fallen from the fuselage of an Air Force C-17 transport plane impact the ground leaving an indelible image of the botched U.S. exit from Afghanistan. With the Taliban now firmly in control of the country, we’re left to wonder how American politicians and military planners could have underestimated the terror that would strike the hearts of Afghans.

Don’t know when it exactly happened, but our military academies have lost the will, the ability, to produce Colin Powell, Norman Schwarzkopf, Bull Halsey, Chesty Puller and all the others who once make our military the best in the world.
Today we truly are a paper tiger led by politically indoctrinated.donkeys.

Afghanistan always had/ has 2 armies on the wests side, a northern alliance army and the Pashtun army in the south. The northern alliance is multiethnic and multilingual. They also tend to be non moslem historically. Around 1900 most of northern tribes were Buddhist, Hindu, Sikh, or rarely Christian.
The Pashtuns were moslem or Zoroastrian in 1900. Most do not know that Iran was majority Zoroastrian in 1900 too. Islamic dominance is relatively new. When you see good afghan fighters on the free worlds side that are usually northern alliance. Most of the Taliban and the bad afghan army forces are Pashtun.
The corrupt Pashtun afghan army, bureaucrats and President cut and ran. They are now out of the picture.
Now free to fight without the enemy in the ranks, the Northern alliance military units, including much of the air force, moved north passed Bagram airbase to the mountain passes leading to the northern alliance strongholds. Some disguised themselves as Taliban to do that, using Taliban flags to roll past Taliban positions without firing a shot. Now they have re-taken a 40 mile swathe north of Bagram airbase. I suspect they already control that base perimeter but still in disguise. NATO controls the airbase proper. The main Northern alliance force is 60 miles north of the front line. That’s a days drive or two days fighting with air support. They will be at the gates of Kabul by Thursday but may stop short. The point of loosing a lot of weapons and vehicles to the Taliban is to make the Taliban take a stand on open ground in the valleys north of the city. The Taliban will be destroyed by the end of last moth. You can guarantee that when the battle is joined the roads out of Kabul back to the Taliban’s old strongholds with have commando ambushes on them from almost every western country and possibly Russia.
Biden is so clue less he and his people are not claiming credit for the Northern Alliance gains. If asked Saleh will call Trump president Trump.
There are no reports of this in the mainstream media with the exception of Russia and India.

Mr. Ott is 100% incorrect about preparedness. Those in charge were informed as early as 2005 (that is 16 years ago, 5 years into the War that it was inevitable that Kabul & its ineffective government will fall. THE USA is without question the GREATEST Military Force & Power EVER in the History of Mankind assembled.
Cut all the BS and the “Buck STOPS here.” The “here” is #46, period. #46 KNEW , the Military KNEW & Intelligence KNEW. They all KNEW

  • Court Martial and don’t Impeach #46. To say the least, a VERY Bold statement from the ranking Officer of the British in Afghanistan.
  • WHO? with a functioning brain, an IQ above 33.3, and Common Sense COULD? Ever of imagined that in less than 8 months the sitting “president” of the MOST Exceptional, Unique and dominate Power on Planet Earth could 1) HUMILIATE America to such a HIGH degree 2) flood the “fruited plain” with an excessive number of EOs 3) create a porous Southern Border where a flood of unchecked individuals including Wuhan China Virus carriers/Terrorists/the Cartels/Gangbangers/Illegal Immigrants come across without incident 4) a Convoluted Foreign Policy that reaches out to Enemies & turns its back on Allies 5) Disregards the Supreme Court 6) INABILITY to super charge the Economy 7) CONSISTENTLY tell THE BIG LIES 8) Spends dollars the Treasury does NOT have on Programs that reward Donors, Special Interests, other Politicians and Elites

  • The time to sit on the sidelines & just watch the parade go by is over. You MUST join the FIGHT. Join Donald J Trump & others on the battlefield to Confront & Fight the Barbarians. Do this for your children, grandchildren & Posterity.

I’ve been discussing this with some buddies who are experienced in this venue and much of this just doesn’t make sense.

There’s a factor that’s a wild card though, we don’t know how much irrationality has occurred at high levels due to Trump Derangement Syndrome. The Left did such an impressive job demonizing Trump that it appears they’ve swallowed their own bait and are believing and acting on their own press.

Normally at the changeover to a new administration the situation left over by the outgoing will be very carefully sifted through by the incoming. This is a rational act, the incoming will decry the evil policies of the outgoing while at the same time adopting and claiming for itself all the good policies.

You saw this latter kind of thing when the Biden White House Committee tried to pass off the vaccine as now good when before it was evil and Kacklin’ Kammy said she wouldn’t take it. All of a sudden the Trump Vaccine is great because it’s no longer the Trump Vaccine.

That type of conversion is normal and rational politics. I’m not saying it’s honest, commendable or morale, I’m saying that’s the kind of thing you would see in a rational approach to a political question.

What’s not rational is to supply an adversary with weaponry and tech. Having been in the military I understand the mindset in this sort of situation. The military at the operational level doesn’t give a flying fig for monetary considerations. You’re out there where the metal meets the meat and that’s not the place for frugality. Cutting costs costs lives.

So they knew they were going to lose all that stuff one way or another and the price of that gear was not a concern. The only concern is “Can we save it or do we destroy it?” If not the former then the latter. There are lots of ways this could have been accomplished rapidly and effectively. Hell, they could have made piles of the stuff and hit those piles with Tomahawk missiles if nothing else.

Trump had a good withdrawal plan in place and working. All the Biden Committee had to do was proceed with it and claim it as their own. America would have withdrawn successfully from Afghanistan without this politically deadly debacle. What the Biden Committee did was opt instead for political suicide.

That’s not rational. Apparent irrationality in government is frightening, especially when it is so irrational that it harms the party in power to this degree. It’s not the same as irrationality that seems to help the Left, Lord knows there’s plenty of that but this isn’t that. This is something else entirely.

So what I’m wondering is has the Biden Committee been so tainted by their own Trump Derangement Syndrome that they would commit political suicide or are we missing something crucial here? If we’re missing something, at this time I cannot imagine what that would be or how it would be worth the political price of this travesty in Afghanistan.

“Do we save it or do we destroy it?” This is not the only two options in with assets left overseas in a country that may fall to the enemy. The third option is: “do we bug it and leave it for the foe”. We have the technology to rig everything from guns to trucks, ammo boxes to night vision goggles to transmit their GPS location every day and several times an hour in battle. Given the air power we have, that’s instant defeat for the foe.
We also have the technology to make a million rounds that either work fine in testing but jam in a hot gun or blow up when fired. Imagine what happens if the propellant for an artillery piece is replaced with high explosive and the Taliban try to use it. That was done in WW2. Hundreds of Germans died. Sadly so did a whole French town when the Nazi’s tracked the booby-trapped ammo back to an armory in that town. Some of us have been talking about that tactic for years.

Um, no, sorry but there isn’t a GPS “transmitter” in every single bit of equipment and there certainly is not a single one in any small arms. If that were the case then there would never, ever again be a “friendly fire” casualty, fratricidal mistakes would be a thing of the past. I’ve heard this kind of thing before and it strikes me as sort of funny.

There could be a tracker or two or a few dozen in selected objects but there are severe limitations on that kind of thing. The most notable is battery life. Next comes range followed by security, concealability and durability.

Power:
GPS information is a one way simplex transmission, it has to then be decoded and retransmitted to provide a location for any given locator device. In days or weeks the battery would die and the device become useless. EPIRBs and PLBs can only send a signal for a maximum of 48 hours and they’re the best, most reliable tech available for failsafe location applications. If there was some sort of GPS locator in every bit of equipment then the batteries to operate them would be common, well known, and part of the normal military logistical table. That kind of battery does not exist.

The device transmitting the locator beacon would have to be “line of sight” to work, there’s no way to pack enough ERP (Effective Radiated Power) into a tiny package. There’s just no way without violating the laws of physics to load enough wattage on an antenna to give both range and reliability in a power limited package. A drone might fulfill the line of sight requirement but then we come back to battery life and …

Security and Concealability:
The only way to wirelessly transmit any sort of data is through RF (Radio Frequency) tech. Other methods like IR (Infrared), heliograph etc. aren’t even worth mentioning in this sort of application.

It is impossible to completely stealth a radio transmission. Encrypting the content digitally will effectively conceal the content but it will not hide the fact that content is being transmitted. A radio emission is a radio emission. The lower the power of the signal, the cleaner (less in use) the signal the band is on has to be and the more sensitive the receiver. Even the most sensitive receiver cannot isolate and pull a signal out of overwhelming background noise. That’s why and how jamming works. This makes it relative child’s play for any competent radio engineer who suspects a signal is being transmitted to verify and locate the transmitter, then nullify it.

The Russians and Chinese have very competent radio engineers that they would be happy to loan the Taliban for a few lithium mining considerations. That would immediately end all usefulness of any GPS locator beacons.

You could get all fancy about this and create a beacon that only fires when it receives an activation trigger, blah, blah blah. Same result, the activation trigger is detected followed by a response burst from the beacons … Instead of locating the beacons and frequencies really, really fast it takes a day or two the nail them all down and jam them but the end result is identical. You only need to jam them until their batteries die.

Durability:
You can’t just build little tiny bugs that will talk to satellites and tattle on their whereabouts. Aside from all of the above you have to make such devices durable if you want them to survive battlefield and other adverse conditions. That means less than tiny devices.

The standard issue vehicle tracking device the FBI uses is about the size of a large Mag-Lite type flashlight. It is that big in order to provide reliable battery power, a reliable antenna that can transmit a signal of sufficient power to punch through the sheet metal in a vehicle body, a transmitter and power supply that is encased in a weather proof housing and big magnets to be sure that expensive piece of gear doesn’t fall off the vehicle being tracked the first time it hits a bump.

These are the realities of homing beacon type tracking devices.

I’ve heard some god-awful silly things related to this topic over the years. Hollywood is not a good source of information on spy gear or any sort of comms. When the characters in a movie or a TV show talk miles over tiny little walkie talkies (HTs in my world, stands for Handheld Transmitter), from inside underground structures and etc. that’s a plot device, not an actual radio device.

There ARE devices that are tiny and can be used in special applications. They have very, very limited range and service life. Those are not deployed either as SOP or special application in/on military gear.

As for creating rounds that destroy the launch tube and kill the user, it could be done but it isn’t as a rule. There’s just too much danger of those spiked rounds getting mixed in with live ammo and killing our guys.

One big problem with military logistics is always the human factor. The Supply Clerk closest to the pointy end of the stick that would have to keep that kind of thing from getting mixed into good ammo is very likely a High School graduate that is overworked and under trained. Any military personnel that has ever had to suffer through the mistakes and boneheaded errors getting their household goods moved from one place to another after relocation orders knows this all too well.

Then there’s always the problem with “captured ammo”. If we made our stuff so that it blew up when used, lost an ammo dump or supply base to an enemy, then recaptured it, we wouldn’t be able to use it because it might be lethal to our own people. More would die or be maimed by such a practice than would be worth the damage to an enemy AND our people would be responsible. It would be a “friendly fire” situation.

If such munitions were specially marked it would take the enemy very little time to identify the markings and not use those munitions.

There were instances in WWII of factory munitions being made so that they would not work or would destroy the gun they were fired in. That was all on the German side of production by partisans. Allied Forces were never, ever expected to use such spiked munitions.

I’m sorry but the situations you posit are wishful thinking that denies the reality of military conflict.

What worries me are the repercussions. The industrial military complex must be ecstatic. They KNOW and we KNOW this means Biden will have to have a meaningless war someplace to prove to the world that he is tougher than they think. This is basic to his personality, and his bullying nature. Watch for it. Where will it happen? Taiwan? That could be the ugliest possible outcome. And be prepared for what that means to everything electronic you use that makes your life easier. It’s already happening with chips for cars. It will get worse.

ARE WE GETTING PLAYED …AGAIN?
I keep hearing the words desperation and fear describing this crowd. But when I saw the video for the first time, I saw these two local yokels grinning and hamming it up for the camera. 2:07 in the vid. Sorry, but this looks like the faces of victors cheering the last departing plane of infidels.
And add in Wesley Bruce’s comments of “jamming” things into the landing gear of that C-17, I’m sure that the makeup of that crown was not monolithic.
Yes, bodies fell from that plane and yes, they were trying to escape certain death by the hands of the Taliban for sure. Yes, some or one was crushed by the landing gear. But not everyone in that crowd looked panicked.
Tell me I’m wrong about what I just saw.

This was the inevitable result of our political policies. Our military on the ground over there knew this was going to be the result. Only the Democrat leadership in our country thought otherwise. This is the result they wanted. The entire JCS needs to resign in shame, Shame for not convincing Biden to take a different tack. Our country’s shame is on the shoulders of the Democrat Party.

It was a despicable event demanded by an ice cream eating doddering old man…or worse, a traitorous self serving individual who should be impeached.

Gentlemen:
What if your fundamental premise is incorrect? What if this wasn’t a massive failure driven by Incompetence and greed. What if it was willful and done with the precise knowledge of the chaos it would create. It is likely still driven by greed and lust for power? The term “useful Idiots” comes to mind.

Don’t be surprised if the Taliban go to the mosques on Friday and either die suddenly of instantly lethal “Covid” or go boom. Biden may be a moron but some of the generals, and others are ready to strike. If the USA does not act Israel and India might. The Taliban leaders are gathered in one place for once.

Not as long as there are Westerners in country, though I wish it were otherwise.

With a different President……

Its now clear that this was a trap for the Taliban. The northern alliance is counter attacking and is only 120 miles north of Kabul Today. NATO is in full control of Bagram air base. Someone handed over the base to NATO, you can bet that was not the Taliban. Using Taliban flags, stories of murder, the total Pashtun panic in Kabul and some civilian clothes the part of the military that was not corrupt tricked the Talban and its allies to concentrate in one place leaving everywhere else under manned. They also Tricked the western media, Pakistan and Biden into looking totally stupid. Expect a big battle north of Kabul with overwhelmingly accurate airpower. While any Talban fleeing south or coming to help will be caught and killed by thousands of air mobile commandos. This is how Trump’s people fight wars. Biden is clueless. they don’t even know what questions to ask.

Biden has lost the support of several house and senate democrats. He has lost hundreds at the state level. So I think a lot of things in the election audit will play out very differently.

This is not a failure of intelligence. Biden’s allies are China, Iran and the Taliban, etc, and all other opponents of Christian morals. The left supports the wests enemies. The Taliban was a match for the corrupt Afghan army but with air support the afghan army could hold its ground. Biden pulled out the aircraft maintenance contractors. The afghan air force was grounded. Once the air advantage was gone the Taliban gave an ultimatum to the troops in each province, switch sides or die. Everyone surrendered city by city. There was no fight.

Trump had an Afghanistan exit plan that was due to run from January to May 2021. Evacuate while the snow blocked the Taliban. It would all be done now. Use new air weapons from out side the country to hit the Taliban if they broke their promises. The Taliban feared and respected Trump. Biden stopped the Trump plan. Then tried to cook up a new plan. He even closed down the special secret entities created to do it. That has to be intentional. China and Islam are the Obama/ Biden governments allies not their foes. Trumps plan would have worked.
https://thenationalpulse.com/exclusive/bidens-state-dept-halted-trump-era-crisis-response-plan/

Watch the video again. Are they trying to get on the plane or trying to force it to stop or both? 8 to 20 were found jamming the landing gear bays and clogging the wheels. The pilot had to make an emergency landing in Pakistan or somewhere because he could not raise the landing gear and external maintenance hatches were compromised. They had to hose out the under carriage.

In a political science seminar I was in in undergrad in 1987, my professor, a former analyst for the CIA, asked us to list the nations we thought were enemies of the US. He was amazed I put Saudi Arabia in there, and left the Soviet Union as an afterthought. He asked why, and I told him I was pretty sure the Soviets would be bankrupt by the end of the century (I was sort f wrong, they were bankrupt by the end of the decade) and their conventional military forces were inadequate to the West. He asked why Saudi Arabia, and I said they hold too much power over us because if their oil reserves. He asked what I would do about it, and I suggested we send in the 101st, annex the oil fields, and rename it Exxonia. He noted they had too much influence, and weren’t stupid enough to be an overt enemy.

All that said, we invaded Afghanistan with what, sixty special forces operators and Air Force air traffic controllers, on horseback, attached to Northern Alliance warlords, and kicked the Taliban out of the country in, what, six weeks? As swift and effective a campaign as we have ever conceived.

Then we decided to build a twentieth century democracy in a seventh century feudal culture. With all the success that should have been predictable.

Invading Afghanistan wasn’t wrong. Rebuilding it was.

Ain’t no shame in their game..
There is no question as to what is happening here.
The olygarchy/pltocracy/kleptocracy, et. al. are getting exactly what they ordered… The Great Reset…. as it’s branded.
Want to solve this problem?
Go after the papal bloodlines, the world economic forum, all the globalists, and their those who do their bidding.
If you don’t, they will get more of what they want, and that is, all of us dead.
America has been conquered. When is it time to kill the real bad guys?
I don’t do Stockholm syndrome.. Wake up, people…

To paraphrase Michele Obama, for the first time in memory, I am ashamed to be an American. It hurt to have to write that. In ten years’ Navy service, I saw some stupid stuff. Never anything this completely effed up, this deliberately, obtusely effed up.

Winnie the pooh, of course…
Where else are we going to get all that tainted fentanyl?

Mr. Whittle, you left out some other worthy Air Force personnel who will suffer the trauma of that flight, the poor air crews who service that plane:

The U.S. Air Force said on Tuesday that it was investigating the circumstances surrounding human remains that were found in the wheel well of one of its C-17s that flew out of Kabul amid the chaos of the Taliban taking over the Afghan capital.”

https://www.reuters.com/world/human-remains-found-landing-gear-military-flight-kabul-says-us-air-force-2021-08-17/

And the pilot(s) who taxied and took off in that plane, and others, while knowing that they likely would be required to return and do it again.

To anyone with a soul, our ‘betters’ sociopathic lack of human feeling for their fellow man is unfathomable.

They govern in your name for their own sakes, and for the sake of a globalist vision that exists to serve themselves and their friends. As far as they are concerned you are to be kept as postmodern serfs: a cheap, disposable, and easily exploited resource pool for their projects.” Kevin Portteus, Afghanistan and America’s Ruling Class, American Greatness

https://amgreatness.com/2021/08/17/afghanistan-and-americas-ruling-class/

I have to wonder … Is this incompetence or malevolence? I find it very hard to believe that people who have risen this high in our command and control structure could be that incompetent. Might they not rather accept the label of “incompetence” as a mask to hide their malevolence? Is it possible that the desired goal is being accomplished and being labelled “incompetent” is the way out, is nothing more than plausible deniability?

As in —

“Yeah, we screwed that up. We’re sorry about that. Moving on … Domestic Terrorism has been dealt another deathblow by the discovery and prosecution of the supplier of a Buffalo horn hat and face paint used to deadly effect in the January 6th ‘insurrection’. Yay us!”.

Not ruling out both, but I vote malevolence. In light of all the military assets the administration failed to evacuate, our United States government has now earned itself the distinction of being a greater financial backer of the Taliban than bin Laden ever was of al Qaeda. Obama may have sent his pallets of cash to the Iranian terrorists, but the Asterisk administration did him one better by cutting out the middleman to directly supply the weaponry – no haggling, no delivery costs, not even a single bureaucratic paperwork hoop to jump through. This folks, is your official government 9/11 20th anniversary commemoration right here.

While I share the shame of our unforgivable betrayal, though it’s little comfort to the poor Afghanis, I wish they could know that our government has as little regard for our lives and wellbeing as it does for theirs. The only difference is they’ve been forced to suffer the shock of blunt-force trauma, while ours is more a flaying one square inch of our flesh at a time.

IMO we should have never been there in the first place, much like many other places we’ve been and shouldn’t have. But this exit shows the world just how awful this nation has become. Remember the Alamo? Remember Afghanistan.

Bush is the one who decided to “civilize” the “fuzzy muzzies” (to paraphrase Kipling)

The Leftists now in control of the Democrat Party and the committee of Komrades now controlling our White House only care about power, they do not care about people. Those were people who had been our friends, aided our military and civil efforts, and helped promote the safety of Americans in Afghanistan, falling from the sky to their certain deaths. From an American airplane.

Next time some smarmy smart-Alec channels Nancy Pilosi and claims that the whole Leftist reason for being is to ‘help people’ — Remind them of that.

Those cretins have to be taken down, they have to be removed from our government. I didn’t think it was even possible for them to move this fast in destroying our county and that they can do so should be a wake up call for all of us on how easy it is to do and how fragile our Republic can be in the hands of evil people.

I am not calling for violence of any sort. In my personal experience that makes things much worse rather than better. Some people might be living out an action adventure movie of a new American Revolution in their minds. Those type of people are idiots.

What I am saying is that we need to take decisive, overwhelming political action while political action is still an option. Start by talking to everyone you know, especially anyone who voted for Joe Biden. Get your facts straight, there are now a lot of them to choose from. Using as many facts as you can remember, express your disgust and revulsion for what this administration is doing. Make sure that those people understand they cannot continue to call themselves “good people” if they support such monstrosities. Get the idea across that, their Virtue Signal Card is declined.

How to take down a superpower:
1) Destroy the economy
2) Destroy jobs
3) Make the population financially rely on the government
4) Dismantle the family
5) Initiate and maintain chaos, promote lawlessness
6) Dumb down our children
7) Politicize our federal agencies
8) Cripple the police force
9) Make criminals out of law-abiding citizens, release violent prisoners
10) Remove world trust
Looks like all is going according to plan to me. So I DO blame Biden (aka him and his handlers) and the Democrat party and anyone else that has cozied up to them.

This is so much worse than Bill, Steve and Scott outlined. This incident is the worst visual symptom of a disease that is devastating our military. This disease is outlined by a great American patriot, Lt. Col. Matthew Lohmeier, USSF. In his book Irresistible Revolution. Marxism has infected our military. The Constitution of the United States of America is under attack by leaders in our military leadership. I cannot imagine being a new recruit now. On day one, I am required to raise my hand and swear an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to the regulations and Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God. Then a few months later, I was sent to classes about how the Constitution and all our western, specifically Judeo-Christian values, are wrong and racist. My color defines me as an oppressor or a victim.
How can the military protect and defend America’s interests around the world when it is ripping its own guts out.

Shame is the operative word, and in that context I agree with Bill. Shame for failure to prepare, shame for blaming others, shame for allowing circumstances to develop without even the modicum of controlling them. In that sense, shame on the Afghanis and for those US citizens still living and working in Afghanistan who actually believed the US government when they were told, “No problem, we’ve got your back.” Trust, but verify, as Reagan uttered.
US citizens and retired military (like me) who watched this carnage unfold are shamed at the utter and complete lack of preparedness, all borne by the example of Joseph R. Biden, Jr., who decided it would be much more comfortable for him to be at Camp David than front and center with the American people and the rest of the world. Actually, shame doesn’t cover the extent of what I am experiencing — revulsion is more like it.
I don’t particularly care about carrying the Europeans. I spent 75% of my military career in Germany supporting and carrying them, and even when the Berlin Wall fell (I was there), the German government still failed to pony up for their own defense. Why? They were busy looking after THEIR OWN.
That said, commitments are commitments. Promises are promises. And once again, thanks to President Asterisk and his sycophantic bureaucrats who line their pockets at the expense of the US taxpayer, the US winds up the villain.
Congratulations, Joe. Now that you’re done with your vacation, perhaps you can go back to sniffing the hair of 8-year-old girls. You are disgusting. When you wake up from your coma, perhaps you should consider resigning. Well, maybe not. Kamala isn’t a helluva lot better than you portend to be. But at least she doesn’t sniff hair — yet.

A massive, disgraceful catastrophe indeed. We are projecting colossal weakness and incompetence around the world, and we and those we’ve supported will pay the price on the world stage for decades to come. Our allies now rightly fear abandonment, our enemies are emboldened by the sight of a paper tiger turning tail and running, and just as our pundits used the relentless drumbeat of Vietnam to sell their grim-milestone-driven story of inevitable defeat and dishonor in Iraq over 25 years later, so they will now invoke Afghanistan for the rest of our lives anytime they feel we need a reverse pep talk.

I fear I will make no friends here by saying this, but I’m afraid that you guys still believe in something which is no longer there – a confident, proud and strong America on whom others can rely. America is now a bad friend to have, and everyone knows it. It isn’t just Biden or his handlers. The entire upper echelons of all the US armed forces, you know, all those guys with the rows and rows of ribbons (jewellery hanging from the heads of mules), are bad actors. So are many (most?) of the top brass in all 17 – count ’em – US intelligence agencies. As I write, reports are mounting that some of them are turning on Biden. Well, of course they will if they can – the last act of honourable seppuku in the West I an aware of was Lord Carrington in 1982 – and they can the day the NYTimes says they can. That’s how you can be certain nothing will change. I see an America rotted out from within. She did all this to herself, and I don’t know how you fix it. Points of no return do happen. On a Zoom call a while back, Bill described me – as he has others – as American, just born overseas. Today, for the first time in my life, I don’t feel like it.

Everyone over the rank of Colonel (or Captain in the Navy) should be fired. And then half of the Colonels should be fired. Then promote new General officers based on military merit. And preclude all political interaction.

I could go for a few years where the world doesn’t rely on us at all. because they are even less capable of fixing things than we are.

Shame , disgrace, humiliation for us. But Matt Walsh made a point the other day, why were there all or mostly men on that runway, where were the women and children? Why weren’t those men fighting for their country or at least their own families?

Here’s my take. As usual, Bill is spot on. The only thing you get from bowing to aggression is more aggression. Neville Chamberlain thought he had acheived “Peace in our time” by knuckling under to Hitlers demands. Instead Hilter, who was emboldened by the British Prime Ministers actions, went ahead with his plans for world domination, now with the support of the German General Staff, who had been planning a coup. Winston Churchill had learned from history, saying that the Germans were either “At your throat or at your feet” depending on your actions. I invite you to read my post on the subject at my wedsite. Here’s the link: https://wp.me/p7RFUu-17p

You gentlemen are far more forgiving than I. Since the biden administration took the helm everything that comes out of it appears to have one aim: to humiliate, weaken and destroy our country on every front possible. It is rather like having Obama, V3.
All of this is planned. There are no “accidents” in politics.

Agreed. This is a feature, not a bug. This can no longer be described as “Elite Capture” by the CCP. This is “Elite Merger” with the CCP (credit to Raheem Kassam). They see America’s decline as both inevitable and something to be celebrated.

You have got to be blind not to see this is exactly what the Left has in mind for America. Make the people weak and have to depend on the police and the military to defend them, then denigrate those forces until the people don’t trust them, then bugout and leave the mass of people to fend for themselves.

My only question is where do they think they are going to go to protect themselves? This sounds like the re-enactment of the French Revolution the likes of which the world has never seen. Think a team of Nazi-hunters 100 million strong with blood on their hands.

Until the Taliban decides they don’t want China to have them.

Then they get caught in a quagmire.
And no matter what you think, they can’t out-brutal the Soviets.
And look what that got them.

Oddly, it’s an homage. they know our feckless mouth breather eats ice cream. None in Biden’s administration know anything about them.

Good for you! Lewis was brilliant, and not enough of us have read his work.

The Screwtape Letters have been derided to me by Catholics as “demonic”. Butt in conversations with Jesuits, they completely agreed we me and Lewis.

I’m more Buddhist than Christian, but who’s perfect? 😉

I posit, as one who grew up Catholic and is now a Deacon at a moderate Baptist church, that those Catholics who derided Lewis just didn’t actually understand what they were reading. And it was easier to cut down rather than think.

“We make men without chests and expect from them virtue and enterprise,” says Lewis. “We laugh at honor and are shocked to find traitors in our midst.”
