Many years ago, 8 toolmakers from my company went on a hunting trip and while sitting around the campfire getting drunk, we found ourselves talking about nuclear weapons, if you can imagine that. We were all well educated males with a good understanding of physics and mathematics if you were wondering.
The question was what would happen if someone dropped a nuclear bomb on top of a nuclear warhead stockpile? Would the result be the total of all fissionable material in that stockpile or just the yield of the bomb? I told you we were drunk, didn’t I?
When I got home, I decided to find out by searching the internet. After quite a while, I realized I kept getting redirected in my search to things that had no relation to my question and eventually to an error screen. At that point I started to get worried that I had asked questions that were not supposed to be answered and they were on to me. That was almost 35 years ago, but I’ll bet I’m still on a list somewhere. What do you think?
