As the Apollo program finally starts to take wings, learn how the entire program, and everything it accomplished, was actually NASA’s backup plan. From a fire during a routine test to Christmas messages from the far side of the moon, see how the Apollo Program got to that one giant leap of Apollo 11 with a series of very small steps, and missteps.

Re upvotes: I voted for each part on the Bill Whittle, Daily Wire and Esoteric Radio Theatre channels. Is that the optimal strategy for maximum benefit? If not, please advise!
Thoroughly impressed with the quality and value of all of Bills productions. I’ve enjoyed our time together since P.J. Media. Looking forward for many years to come!
I’m greatly enjoying these, and their tremendous polish and production values. Yet at the same time I cherish great memories of Bill’s off-the-cuff discussions of this stuff on many a TSL episode. So glad to have gotten to enjoy the journey as well as the finished product it’s lead to. Hats off to you, Bill, for all the heart and talent you’ve put into this! May it reach a very, very wide audience! (I’ve been sending links!)
One thing that I still have trouble reconciling about us as human beings are how we could be accomplishing such great things as going to the Moon while at the very same time be sending our young men into the jungle to kill other human beings.
So, is there going to be an option to buy this series on DVD at some point? Because I will happily, nay, eagerly shell out good money to do so.
Excellent Bill. I really enjoyed this.
The LEM was nearly as fragile as the card stock models used as gas station giveaways. I must have assembled 2 dozen of those.
I remember those! I kept going back to get one once or twice a day so often that the service station owner gave me a stack of them just so I would stop bothering him.
Bill is at the top of his game on this series. His passion for the subject along his pride and patriotism for America is self-evident. How refreshing to see such a positive and thought-provoking narrative on one of the most important accomplishments of not just the United States, but of Mankind as a whole. I can’t wait to see Part IV!
Bills having fun with the adds.
Bill. I submit to you that this is your Cosmos.
You, like Carl Sagan, endeavored to create a definitive series on your respective areas of specialty.
You, like Carl Sagan, enabled your audience to become invested in your narration, through masterfully crafted writing. You both took people on an awe-inspiring journey of discovery.
You, like Carl Sagan, wished to share your passion and wonder with others in the hope that they would understand why what you’re saying is, indeed, worth learning.
You, like Carl Sagan, created a series that is the exemplar of all others in your fields.
I cannot say this is your finest work, like I cannot say Cosmos was Sagan’s finest. I can say without the slightest hesitation, however, that your Apollo series is ground breaking.
Apollo 11: What We Saw has left an indelible impression upon me. Thank you for creating it, and sharing it with the world.
P.S. I watch each show on all of the YT channels it is offered on. Currently in the midst of my third time for this episode. I keep learning something new.
I just want to thank Bill Whittle and all of the amazing people that put this project together! I was moved to tears in this episode and I can not wait for the final one. I will watch it with the immense sense of gratitude that I feel now. Once again, Thank you!
This is without doubt your finest work Bill. This is why you’re getting more new members come aboard. The political stuff is all good, but I think this is what will make your name on the internet, and get you thousands more fans. Do more cultural, historical, and documentarian stuff. It’s the cultural episodes of TSL that I personally like the best, rather than the political ones, and I really think TSL should have been more like that from the start, leaving your political work in other places. I only started following you because of your excellent military history writing on Eject Eject Eject. My own political philosophy’s evolution probably mirrored yours over the years, but has always been based in my abhorence of actual politics.
If you start to experience withdrawal symptoms on Apollo 11 between these amazing episodes, consider the movie “The Dish” loosely based on Australia’s contribution to Apollo 11. It stars Sam Neill and Pat Warburton as well as some popular Australian actors. It is one of my nerdish favorites.
