At least we can laugh at them

By “them,” I mean “ignorant millennial TV writers.”

So I’m watching the new season of The Crown on Netflix.  In general, this is a pretty good show.  The casting is fantastic and the costumes and period details are amazing.  Most of the historical events seem to be reasonably accurate.

The new season that was just released begins more or less with the assassination of Lord Mountbatten, the election of Mrs. Thatcher, and then the courtship of Lady Diana Spencer.  So, 1979-81.

Before the engagement was announced, Lady Diana moved into Buckingham Palace for her protection.  After a few days, she phones her old roommates, who squeal and carry on and ask her all sorts of questions about life in Buckingham Palace.  One asks something like, “do the phones have little crowns on them?”

Then the next one asks, “Is the ringtone God Save the Queen?”
