I live in Michigan and have a PhD in theoretical atomic physics with MS and BS degrees in experimental atomic physics. I've worked at the National Labs and for private industry and have more than 40 years experience with software development, data analysis and data visualization. The data visualization soon led me to 3D graphics, 3D animation and game design, which I've been doing as a hobby for 30 years. I've produced full-dome movies for planetariums and several short films for teaching physics or astronomy. Now that I'm retired, I teach Physics and Astronomy part time at a local community college. Before Physics entered my life, I worked as a commercial artist, owned and operated a food-processing company, owned and operated a pin-ball parlor, lived year-round on a wooden sailboat and restored several classic cars.
