Hasn’t been for nearly 40 years. Hollywood has been celebrating blacks since the 60’s. Sidney Poitier won the Oscar for best actor in 1964 for his performance in “Lilies of the Field.” Free housing, healthcare and food to anyone who needed it since round about then. Fair housing laws preventing discrimination. Equal employment laws preventing discrimination. Affirmative action giving blacks an ADVANTAGE. Then expanded to other minorities and women. Give me a break.
By the early ’90’s AT THE LATEST, the vast majority of Americans could care less about race. Interracial marriages hadn’t been “taboo” since the ’60’s (remember Lionel and Jenny on “The Jeffersons”?). Stevie Wonder and Paul McCartney had sung “Ebony and Ivory.” Doug Williams became the first black quarterback to win a Super Bowl in 1988. Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson were making “White Men Can’t Jump.” And Michael Jordan was the most recognizable sports star of all time. Everyone wanted to “Be Like Mike.”
There were plenty of blacks in business and government too. Doors weren’t slammed in their face. Quite the opposite. Blacks and women filled affirmative action quotas set by many vendors. And spare me this “had to work twice as hard” b.s. The barrier into the professional class was the same for everyone, but you overcame it with education and hard work, that whole meritocracy thing that lazy do nothings full of excuses like to criticize.
It’s about time we tell these people they’re full of crap with their “white privilege” and the legacy of slavery holding people back. MLK, Jr. claimed the same thing. Didn’t make sense then. Doesn’t make sense now. They are not going to use such b.s. excuses to claim systemic racism and justify the destruction of our great United States via their DIE strategy…Diversity, Inclusion and Equity.
Frederick Douglass was a Republican. Booker T. Washington was a Republican. The first black members of Congress from the South were Republicans…
Hiram Rhodes Revels (first black member of the Senate and served for the state of Mississippi starting in 1870) and Joseph Hayne Rainey (first black member of all of Congress and served South Carolina in the House of Representatives also starting in 1870).
You guessed it…BOTH REPUBLICANS.
In fact, Rainey was born enslaved. Someone should have told him that the legacy of slavery was inescapable.
Same for Booker T. Washington who built Tuskegee University from the ground up, literally, bricks and all, on a former plantation in segregated Alabama. Opened July 4, 1881.

To perpetuate the lie of systemic racism is to dishonor and disrespect the reputation, ACTUAL sacrifices and accomplishments of all of these black leaders. They were great men and women, which Biden and the rest of the pathetic, race-baiting Democrats are not.

I like to mess with progressive minds by pointing out Martin Luther King Jr was a Republican. He knew which party was racist. And, no they did not switch.
The best part about messing with the progressives is that they’re so convinced in the propaganda they’ve been fed that they have no idea it’s coming. I told a friend that there were only about 10 unarmed black people killed by police every year and that only out of about 40 overall, and he looked at me like he’d just lost his best friend. I almost didn’t have the heart to tell him that the definition for “unarmed” included criminals reaching for their gun or the officer’s gun…almost. LOL.
