Biden Blames Trump for COVID-19 Deaths, But Democrat Held Rallies as Cases Spiked

Lightning Round gives Stephen Green a chance to ambush Scott Ott and Bill Whittle with top and bottom stories alike. This week:

  • Biden blames Trump for 60,000 deaths, but the Democrat held rallies as COVID-19 cases spiked.
  • Authorities in Minnesota and New York say riots in some places were planned by Antifa.
  • Trump holds bible in front of church, and the Left melts down.
A Colorado Progressive, threatened by riots, doesn’t know anyone with a gun, buys one.

Boo! I love the Roman numerals and I wanna see how high Scott can count. 8^)

Gotta keep it going until they hit C. Only CCXXIII weeks to go at XVII per year (every III weeks). So it will record on Sept 24, 2024. VII weeks before we elect Nikki Haley as the first female POTUS. Probably a little off but ok.

Count me among those who favor Roman Numerals. At the tender age of LXV, I have loved Roman Numerals since learning about them at age Xl ish.

Biden, he speaks, placing at Donald’s feet,
all the lives that COVID has claimed,
Authorities find that a plan is behind
ANTIFA setting cities aflame,
Trump holds The Book,
Perhaps for the look,
but that looks better than
holding back,
All the talking heads burst
on the mainstream’s news worst
and they hurl at him
disingenuous flack,
The delicate ones
so opposed to our guns
See a need for a self defense spree,
When the violence is real,
they’re not just here to steal
Don’t be greedy, hand out justice for free.

You’re a poet and don’t know it… or, of course you do!
Thanks, we need some humor and art at this time!

Scott, how do you know that he doesn’t pray every day? Just because it doesn’t ‘look like it’ doesn’t make it so. Maybe the burning of a church that has been a staple of the presidential office compelled him to do so. We all talk to God in our own personal way, maybe he had just felt enough is enough. Photo op , sure, but don’t assume you know what’s in his heart.

“move on to greener pastures” freshly fertilized by their fallen former fellows.

Happier even is a gun hot enough to fry up your bacon. Cause then you have bacon.

Having grown up in the NYC area during mostly the Ed Koch era, it was amazing how less frequent our trips to the city became as it degraded. My brother several years older than I and his friends would frequently go down and just wander around in HS.
That option was no longer available to me by time I got there. Dad came or no one went. The changes after Giuliani were remarkable such that when my wife and I started dating, we always took a trip into the city when we visited my folks. Never felt unsafe during Rudi’s time. Now, the last time we went several years ago, you could feel the ooze on your skin.
It is gradual, like the frog in the heating water; but it will eventually kill the city unless the citizens vote for someone who will put order back into the city without being a dictator. Doubtful.

Ralph, it’s about to get much worse. I hear rumors about the NYC police commissioner AND chief of police resigning, getting fired, fired and resigning, or however the media spins it. The next appointees will be Deblasio liberals and a bunch of NYC officers are retiring or resigning. I’ve been there and seen the sights during the good times. No need for me to go back to a city which will be most assuredly getting much worse and soon.

One has to wonder why someone will choose to be a cop in any large city, or even a small one. I remember several months back (maybe end of last summer) video of two NYC LEO trying to arrest someone and the surrounding community throwing water on them, even hitting one with a bucket. Who wants to be treated like that when trying to help?

Bill – I do this all the time with my wife and daughter – take something they say and then finish a lyric. Daughter, now 20, just rolls her eyes and says please stop it. The best part is after almost 29 years together, my wife does it, too!

Oh I generally do. If it’s a particularly good reference I will finish the verse. 😉

Then again, any song by Meatloaf that gets any airplay these days would pass for a #DeepCut. And I’m OK with this if it means that the annoying & lengthy Paradise by the Dashboard Light has disappeared from the airwaves

It’s the extended version. The one that aired was a 30 second piece. And for all of the annoying never ending ad campaigns (Can you hear me now? Good!), I remember this one having a way too short shelf life

Watched a live video of this the other day. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Of course, hadn’t heard the song in ages. But that album was one of the anthems of my youth. Wore out multiple cassettes on that one.

By any chance did you ever watch The Uncle Floyd Show on U68 back in teh early 80s?

Seems familiar looking at some images, but since it didn’t hit the NY market until I was almost done with HS, not sure it crossed the river in time for me to really remember it.
I think I would have liked it as I was a Soupy Sales and Benny Hill fan. He looks a little of both.

It was a parody of kids’ variety shows. They also included some paradies of various bands/singers, like Bruce Stringbean, Neil Yuck, and Pot Roast.
About 10-15 years ago I was riding shotgun with my brother and his family & listening to Bat Out of Hell. “Took the Words…” came on, and even though we hadn’t mentioned it or even thought of it in years, when it got to the chorus bro & I seamlessly both sang, “And you took the food right out of my mouth!”, producing a look on my sister in law’s face suggesting that she was questioning some of her life choices
