This, as protests erupt over pushing Progressive ideology in the classroom by union (read Democrat) activists/teachers in our government-run schools. Will this finally motivate a mass flight from state-run indoctrination factories, or will we passively concur that we love Big Teacher?

Ah, yes, the motte and bailey tactic raises its ugly head again. “Oh, no, we’re just talking about reading, writing, and ‘rithmetic”. “You must learn that you are a racist, sexist, xenophobe if you are white!”
The original design of the whole public school/schoolboard thing was LOCAL COMMUNITY CONTROL. Top to bottom, really.
Scott is right about the way it is structured now — the school boards don’t really answer to the people, or they don’t have to, anyway. They can hide behind the power we have, over time, delegated to the states and the feds. And it was incremental, “oh yes, we want math standards”. “Oh yes, we want reading standards.” Who would argue against those?
But the power structure we let develop to promulgate those standards is too broad, and it is based on a carrot and stick model. “Do this, or you don’t get this funding”. The big mistake was … once again, selling our souls for other peoples’ money.
And in the long march through the institutions, the proggies got control of the education system and now want to indoctrinate our kids into their ideologies, and ours stand in the way.
They are pissy about this.
We will only retain the power we demand. It’s good to see some people demanding it. We need more of this, faster.
Hey Phil! I agree with you and Scott except for the following:
1) We are not getting the product which was sold to us, but the good news is that I think the globalist Marxists led by the Democrats in this country have used their bait and switch strategy for the last time. We are through playing the Charlie Brown to their Lucy.
2) with the forced payment of property taxes, our participation in this government system is not voluntary. This is not a choice for many parents who can’t afford private school, and that needs to change. In another video months ago, Bill suggested the use of retirees as homeschool teachers for parents who must work, which I think is a fantastic idea.
3) The other thing that must change is the institution of impeachment procedures for school board tyrants making up rules as they go along with curriculums of indoctrination and school board meeting restrictions.
With regard to the first, they shouldn’t have the power to take our money and then turn around and teach horrific and racist agendas like CRT while fooling parents with the claim that they “just want to teach about slavery” (by the way, as a general rule, I’ve found that whenever the lying left says they “just want” to do something, you can bet your life there’s a hidden agenda).
For an example of the second, the first video below shows how school board are intimidating parents by asking them to recite their name and address, information which they as a school board already have, on video before voicing their opinion. Also the rules against clapping and cheering and everything else. The idea that they should be able to unilaterally dictate the rules of decorum and the time allowed to speak needs to be shown the door. The second video, which is infuriating, shows the tyrants enforcing their time rule and also cutting off dissenting parents due to the content of their speech.
I don’t know who the hell these people think they are, but they’re about to run into the brick wall that is freedom-loving American patriots. They are weak as they don’t have the strength and fortitude required to build. All they do is leech and destroy.

The Democrat Party will be lucky to survive at all once America realizes the extent to which they’ve been conned. They are already trying to blame shift by saying “both sides do it” or out-and-out projecting their behavior onto all decent Americans. The will try to minimize the seriousness of their sins (CRT is simply about teaching slavery). They will try to say, “Let’s let bygones be bygones.” (HRC…”At this point, what difference does it make?).
I, for one, will not let any of those things happen, and this time, unlike many others, we have the pachydermic memory of the Internet which is documenting their sins daily and will be there forever as a reminder to anyone who says, “Hey. Why don’t we try this again?!”
Any decent Democrat, like Tulsi Gabbard and Andrew Yang, has already left office and/or disagreed with their party platform. The rest should be forever banned from holding any political office for condoning this mess, and the never Trumpers supporting the globalists or any Republicans condoning them by their silence need to go too. On their heels need to be anyone associated with the unaccountable, unelected deep state which has worked to undermine America. All of those agencies need a good flushing and inoculation against the virus of communism.

Steve – while there are still some school districts that are less bad than others, I no longer think any of them are generally good. I think there are still good teachers within some schools, but ask yourself if your kids, even in the good district you live in now, are getting as good an education as you did at a military academy style HS.
Scott is correct, the answer to this particular problem does not lie within the public school system. If all concerned parents pulled their kids out, either to home school or private school, the system would start to collapse.
And for that we need vouchers, school choice initiatives and educational accounts that follow the child. Otherwise the lower socioeconomic strata will be unable to act.
Yes, to all that. Note how the ellites in NYC and DC send their kids to private school. Now even the formerly prestigious public schools in NYC which were merit based have been dumbed down due to not enough diversity of skin color.
Hillary Clinton’s notorious book, “It Takes a Village”, definitely presents the Marxist collectivist view about who raises the child. The public school system is designed to form children into good little socialists and social justice whiners.
