Democrat Presidential candidates Senators Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren unveil plans to tax wealth progressively to fund Medicare for All, and the valiant fight against man-made climate change. Sen. Sanders says, “Billionaires should not exist,” and brags that his plan would deplete their fortunes by half in just 15 years. Is the new populist majority, tapped by Donald Trump, ready to stick it to the billionaires in order to fund Utopian Progressive dreams? Can Bernie or Betsy ride this populist rage to the White House?

So, how is this “tax” going to work? The $10B that is in the estate of billionaire isn’t gold bars and cash in a safe. That tax can’t be a chunk of that cash and gold. It will have to be the billionaire surrendering a business unit of a conglomerate or something to the government. Let me know how you think that will work out?
When I was very young, I used to have to sell my plasma, too.
The left’s ideology is one of envy. Plus, the wealthy can’t be controlled.
Start taxing wealth and the wealthy will leave the country. And a few really dedicated ones will put significant amounts of their wealth into charities and foundations. The greedy b@st@rd ones will find loopholes and ways to hide and shelter their wealth. So Dim-o-crats, I hope you never get your way.
A smart man doesn’t envy a rich man, he observes and tries to learn how he got rich.
This has got to put a dent in Dances with Donors collections!
You forgot something. In the case of Democrat Donors, they will have some sort of privileged status, and their wealth will be the “right kind” of wealth, such that THEIR WEALTH will be legislated by the Democrats as exempt from the tax.
Bill and Scott, I very much enjoyed this video and am very familiar with “Eat the Rich,” which is also extremely well done.
I cannot express how much Bernie’s comments about “Billionaires shouldn’t exist,” angered me. God didn’t give me enough middle fingers for a proper response. All I can say is, “IT’S NOT YOUR MONEY, BERNIE!” And I will thank God every day that Bernie Sanders will never become president.
To put it in terms perhaps even Progressives can understand, Bernie is de-humanizing billionaires.
Of course Dems care about the poor – if Dems didn’t love them why would they do so much to put, and keep, citizens in poverty?
The left so loves the poor, that they would cover the earth in their multitudes.
