The idea that minorities need some sort of special advantage to compete is preposterous. It assumes that they’re sub-capable less-than-human beings and it’s insulting. Bill has basically said this many times.
The argument from the Tard-LIbian’s side is that minorities lack opportunity to develop and excel. There has been in the past some merit to this view because … The Left did it’s best to keep those sorts of people on their vote plantations and in virtual if not actual chains.
It does make me wonder how bright those people actually are because they’ve been voting for their own oppression for decades. But then they were told by their plantation owners that there was no way out and if they were to survive at all they needed to vote Democrat. A self-fulfilling prophecy because voting for Democrats left them no way out and living off of handouts.
This is how a wealthy nation breeds a generation of Communist/Socialist vipers in its own bosom. In a poor nation they just don’t feed ’em, they feed the soldiers that keep them in line instead.
That’s one way to handle that segment of the population. There’s another, better way. The better way for both the people immediately concerned and for the nation as a whole is to do an honest job of equalizing opportunity as best as possible and let everyone find their own level. Because hand-outs make people bitter, angry and resentful and self-reliance makes them conscientious, good citizens, as a rule and of course there are exceptions to every rule.
The bad news is that the Left has created a positive feedback loop. I don’t think they really intended to do that, I think it’s just one more unintended consequence of their quest for political power. Because that feedback loop is as likely to destroy the Democrats in the end as it is to have any other long term consequence. By keeping people down, siphoning off the money intended to improve their opportunities, creating a bureaucratic class on government pay, and turning a blind eye to all sorts of nasty corruption, the Left has had to swing further and further left to find suitable candidates for the vote plantations to elect. Which has increased the misery on those vote plantations. Which leads to even more and bigger empty promises. Which get even worse people elected, etc. Wash, rinse, repeat.
Something has to break eventually. We make all kinds of lovely noises about freeing the oppressed (The 5th Special Forces even uses that as a motto – De Oppresso Liber – or “To Free the Oppressed”. and that is exactly what they do but elsewhere ….) while we have permitted a political sub-group of our own government to oppress our own people. Go figure. It’s not like that hasn’t been obvious for quite a while now.
While it is true it is also unhelpful to point out that the people being oppressed by the Democrat Party are oppressing themselves by their own voting habits, it’s not helpful to point that out to them unless they are able to avail themselves of an alternative that is in fact helpful..
What is helpful to them is to do exactly as the Trump Administration did and create a demand for their labor and intellects by increasing the availability of opportunities. It’s a shame that we won’t have four more years of that if this court battle doesn’t end favorably (to us) but some of those people have now had a taste of what it is like to get off that vote plantation and break those chains. If Joe Biden and his coven of commies come out on top in the next few weeks, they will have to put those chains back on those people. That might not be so easy to do. It would be a lot harder if there were four more years of economic advancement to break even more of those chains … But as the old Doris Day song goes “Que sera, sera” — What will be will be.
In the bigger picture the real question is “Where does this leave the Nation?” The answer to that is pretty simple too. Remember what I said above about a breaking point? If Biden prevails the breaking point moves much closer and it’s a breaking point for the whole nation. If Trump prevails there’s still a breaking point, but it’s a breaking point for the Democrat Party. The Democrats in power in the government, the party and the press aren’t stupid. They know everything I have pointed out here and they knew that four more years of Trump would break them to a significant degree.
Which is why they pulled out all the stops to destroy Donald Trump but that was an act of desperation. Do any of you really think Biden is going to be able to hold this all together and stave off a full-on civil breakdown? Biden/Harris have to bend that which is already at it’s limits even further and risk a break.
So consider carefully what you personally are going to do about this and the effects on you and the people you care about. I only have one piece of advise for one specific person …
Bill? Yeah, Bill Whittle? Get the hell out of California. The reasons you’ve given in the past for staying in Mordor are no longer valid. The Orcs are in charge now and you need to get out of there while you still can.

Concurrent democrats et al will still get to enjoy the fruits of their efforts, because time is simply short for the ones on top many of whom are close to terminal separation. The ones who are coming after, the irrational, disgruntled dupes who believe their utopia has been built will reap what the concurrent has sown. They will suffer the inevitable consequences learning (maybe) too late why. But not just them, all of us. All of us will suffer and if some industrious and talented individuals come up with effective ideas, implement them, and soften the debacle, even the guilty, riding in tandem, will enjoy the benefits to which they are not entitled. It sucks.

Yeah, I don’t know what the deal is with the image. It was just a generic “Bridge Out” sign. I see there are other people having the same problem. Likely it’s some incompatibility between my browser and the website. I have an inordinate amount of security running and that might have something to do with it.
I understand your point about democrats et al avoidance of reaping what they sow. I left California in 2013 because I finally managed to concentrate the resources to do so. California is as good an example as exists in the US of the folly of pursuing a socialist utopia. My attitude towards that state is that I sincerely hope they get exactly what they voted for. Not what they think they voted for and not what they wanted, but what they deserve for their foolish management of their own situation.
I think you’re saying that it’s a pity that these people who are duped by the siren song of a Leftist pseudo economic and social paradise probably will not have to bear the full brunt of their policies. If I got that right, I agree. Because lacking that lesson they will just continue to try to implement their busted ideology claiming that all that stands between them and where they want to be is sanity. Of course they won’t acknowledge the “sanity” aspect but that doesn’t change the fact.
There’s a more sinister underlying element to all of this. In the modern world a weak or corrupt government tends less towards a Stalinist, Maoist or Hitlerian style dictatorship and more towards an oligarchical political hegemony. Very large financial and business interests tend to control the resources that control the politics behind the scenes. Those oligarch-type concerns don’t really care about ideology, either side works equally well and it’s only a matter of which is easier/surer to control and most likely to sustain the oligarchy.
The Russia of today is a very good example of this sort of thing. Putin is not so much a strongman as he is propped up by the energy, transportation, telecommunications and commodities oligarchy. He’s their man as long as he gives them what they want, which he does quite well. That situation is merely overlaid with a thin veneer of apparent democracy.
Closer to home we just saw another prime example with Joe Biden’s EO cancelling the Keystone Pipeline. That oil is still going to be pumped and sold, but now It will move by rail rather than pipe. Coincidentally the rail system it will move over is owned by Warren Buffet, a major contributor to Joe’s campaign.
Losing our Democratic Republic for an Oligarchy is a major danger. The oligarchs don’t care about anything but their oligarchy and a collapsed society where we are all at each other’s throats works better for their purposes than a free society maximizing personal liberty. They’re safe in their armed enclaves and gated fortresses.
Which adds to pushing the rest of us towards that breaking point I mentioned. If they, the oligarchs like Warren Buffet, Google, Facebook, Apple, Microsoft etc. can degrade our society to their benefit they will. Cheap labor, low or no competition for raw materials and resources, a population in turmoil and all the rest work in their favor.
There is definitely a bridge out ahead. In fact there are several bridges out.
