One Flew Over CNN’s Nest

In rereading the Ken Kesey classic “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest”, I got to the chapter when the patients sat down for the “group therapy session.” Nurse Ratched would run the meeting by reading notes from the other patients informing on the others or from reading from what otherwise would be confidential doctor’s psychiatric notes. The whole reason she would do this was to control everyone in the room, she did it to control the doctor just as much as the patients.

Nurse Ratched is the person Bill Whittle is talking about, that person that has to control others. In that scene she sets the whole group to picking apart their fellow patient for feeling insecure and inferior about his relationship with his wife. To summarize McMurphy, Ratched exposes a supposed weakness and all the other patients are trained to exploit that weakness and “peck” there friends into submission.

Isn’t that just what CNN and the whole social media complex has done to all of us. Whipped us into submissions by holding up some poor bastard for public ridicule and destruction, just as a warning that any one of us could be next. Think of all the non-stories in the news just this year, all the people CNN and social media made famous just for the purposes of sending a warning not to step out of line. The worst of what Ratched and social media do is that the person that gets destroyed is made to feel like they deserved it and that the public shaming is for their own good and the really should apologies for what they did wrong.

Harding to McMurphy – “Why this is incredible. You completely disregard, completely overlook and disregard the fact that what the fellows were doing today was for my own benefit? That any questions or discussion raised by Miss Ratched or the rest of the staff is done solely for therapeutic reasons?”

Its so heartbreaking to hear this man who has just had his manhood dissected by all his friends solely to fulfill the need for control of nurse Ratched. The doctor that should be actually helping these men is so obsessed with his theories and so worried about getting on the wrong side of nurse Ratched that he cant stand up for the patients that he is supposed to be helping. Doctor Spivey is much like the RINO and establishment republicans, all obsessed with their theories and just begging the media to like them, never giving a second thought to the country they are supposed to be serving.
Harding to McMurphy – “Oh, your not paying attention my friend. She doesn’t accuse. She merely needs to insinuate, insinuate anything, don’t you see?”

“No, She doesn’t need to accuse. She has a genius for insinuation. Did you ever hear her, in the course of our discussion today, ever once hear her accuse me of anything? Yet it seems I have been accused of a multitude of things…”
Doesn’t this sound like the way republicans fear the media, they live in fear that the media might make, even what we know to be a false claim, it doesn’t matter how baseless or outlandish the claim the republicans just fold anyways, they don’t know how to fight back. This was something that the establishment republicans, the daily wire included, never got about Trump. Trump is unfortunately the tragic hero, the same as McMurphy, he came in and saw what was being done to all of us and said “oh the hell with that.” But much like McMurphy, he has paid a terrible price for being the one to stand up to the “nurse Ratched media”.
Much like the in the book the patients had a good time with McMurphy for a while, until the nurse and her cohorts could find enough reason to take McMurphy out. We’ve had a couple of good years with Trump, a couple of great years economically, militarily and internationally. Now the swamp and the media have beat him for now, we all know how they did it, we all know they cheated, lied, and corrupted anything they had to in order to defeat Trump and the America First Agenda.
In the novel Nurse Ratched is self conscious about her figure, she wears “sexless” clothing to conceal her breasts. CNN was self conscious about covering their biases and agenda with the thin veil of journalism. The final act of defiance against the Nurse by McMurphy is that he reaches out and tears her blouse open exposing her to all the other patients. Well Trump has certainly torn away the thin veil of journalism from the media, both legacy and social. He has destroyed the patina of integrity, honesty, and justice from the deep state actors in the Justice Department, the State Department, the Intelligence Agencies, and worst of all from the upper level leadership in the US Military. Now we all see them for their bias and corruption, and we certainly can see the weakness of the republicans and the duplicity of the RINOs.
I am just hoping that we have learned how to fight this enemy and what allies we have and which ones are just enemy collaborators.
