Corporate Censorship on Behalf of China

From the inimitable Ace:

Big media corporations — including your precious social media monopolies — have been imposing alien values of censorship, a nascent Social Credit system, for years now, and you have taken the opportunity in each new case of #Woke Corporate Censorship to argue for the unquestionable superiority of corporate speech rights over citizen speech rights.

Each time, you have championed corporate rights and demeaned those arguing for individual rights. Each time, you have sided with the corporate oligarchs against the dreaded “populists.”

Now your liberal twitter pals are also upset by a corporation’s imposition of censorship, and only now do you speak up and say that this is contrary to American values.

If there is any “principle” animating your flip-flopping on these issues besides the one of “not wanting to look icky to my Twitter palz,” please do announce it at some point.

Because we’d all love to hear your deep thinking on this.

Does the NBA’s action here — and the action of ABC and ESPN and Nike in enabling/covering up Chinese censorship — represent a watershed change in your thinking, or is this merely a one-off deviation from your usual insistence on the Doctrine of Corporate Infallibility?

Not just China.

This is Eric Schmidt and Bill Richardson doing the same thing for Kim Jong-Il in 2011 at the behest of Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, John Brennan, John Podesta. However there is more to see here.

At the time Kim Jong-il was very sick, he died soon after, and his brother in law Jang Song-thaek was in charge. Reportedly Kim Jong-il was considering reunification and leaving the communist block. He was watching east Germany but Brennan and Jang shut him down.

On finding this out Trump and Pompeo asked on various forums who did the actual work in North Korea? people found the Google staff and someone “persuaded” them to change all the security setting in north Korea.

Jang Song-thaek was already dead; taken out by Kim Yong-nam , Pak Pong-ju (a chemical warfare chemist) and one of Kim jong-un’s older brothers, Kim Jong-chul.

In November 2017 Kim Yong-nam the long running foreign minister and Pak Pong-ju the chemist were clearly in control of the politburo with Kim Jong-un as the figure head. Days later less than a week after “Trump’s little chat” with the google technicians. Kim Yong-nam and Pak Pong-ju were bowing to Kim jong-un, in suits not uniforms and clearly under guard.

Kim Yong-nam has now been retired off, he is 92 and has dementia.
Pak Pong-ju, the main suspect in the poisoning of Kim Jong-nam, has not been seen since mid 2018!

Eric Schmidt resigned soon after “Trump’s little chat” and has been staying well away from the USA as much as possible. It seems, however, no one wants to grant him a long visa though (asylum). He is in very deep trouble.

I’m so old I remember when the left feared and hated big corporations as the nexus of fascism defending on American. But it seems principles are also like streetcars.

I sometimes still read comments there but I haven’t commented in years. I was getting too wrought up so I stopped.

I understand. I comment infrequently, usually only to Gorilla Pundit on M,W,F. I do still read most of Ace’s posts.
