Cuomo Crisis: Publisher Backs Away from COVID-19 Book by Governor Who Hid Death Data

Book sales had already fallen off in the wake of news that Cuomo hid data on nursing home pandemic death to protect himself from liability in some 12,000 needless funerals.

Crown Publishing Group stops promoting New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s book American Crisis: Leadership Lessons from the Covid-19 Pandemic, and has no plans to print more, or to reissue it in paperback. Sales had already fallen off in the wake of news that Cuomo hid data on nursing home pandemic death to protect himself from liability in some 12,000 needless funerals.

It’s good that the book was canceled. And he should be punished for the decision he made. But one other thing they should do is take away the money that he did make on the book up to this point and give it to the families of those elderly victims that died because of his decision.

He should be charged with thousands of counts of manslaughter at the depraved and reckless behavior status.

Are you so certain that putting that garbage next to your nether regions is wise?

The publisher could, after revoking the royalties to the author (ghost writer?) instead setup a fund where the extra money could be directed, either for the benefit of people who lost family or just to a New York research something or other, possibly focusing on other infectious diseases.

Cuomo may want to consult with another Democrat Politician as to what to say next. “At this point what does it matter?” Seems to have worked out for her.

Or, wait a couple weeks, Cuomo can channel former Obama spokesperson Tommy Vietor. “Dude, that was like a year ago”…Seems to have worked for him.

When I think about Andrew Cuomo’s culpability in the deaths of 12,000 elderly New Yorkers I picture this asshole with a pillow in his hands going from bed to bed smothering them one by one. When interviewed about it he stated “… they’re dead who cares…” He’s a mass murderer, period.

As Steve was wrapping up about changing the book title, etc., I was thinking he would suggest the publisher just move the book’s categorization from Autobiography (or current events or management?) to Fiction and keep publishing it for those (maybe mostly conservatives?) who like to read such things about Democrats.

What I am having trouble understanding is why it took the NY legislature so long to curtail the governor’s emergency powers in regard to the pandemic. Said pandemic has brought to the fore our awareness of how necessary but dangerous even our local and state governments are/ can be, let alone the national government with “only enumerated” powers. There is apparently some serious question as to whether George Washington actually said this but “Government is not reason, it is not eloquence,β€”it is force! Like fire, it is a dangerous servant, and a fearful master; never for a moment should it be left to irresponsible action.”

I logged in to make that exact point, how is it that politicians are making medical decisions?

I really hope they go after the other Governors too. Like Tom Wolf, and his former Secretary of Health. He/she actually pulled his mother out of the nursing homes proving premeditation. Negligent Homicide is too lenient of a charge to me.

All the uber-tyrant governors and mayors should be removed from office and brought up on charges, then have the book thrown at them.
Newsom, Whitmer, Cuomo, Lightfoot, PDX mayor, Seattle mayor, D.C. Mayor, VA gov. come to mind to start.
Also the politicians in D.C. that encouraged/allowed riots, looting, etc.

I got the Three Wolf Moon t-shirt. But mine came broken. My life remained “meh”. And Amazon wouldn’t let me return it.
Maybe it only works w/ the Tuscany Milk.

Did you know Amazon stopped selling Tuscany Milk? I haven’t found another source yet. It’s a travesty. Sorry about your shirt. My friend bought a Three Wolf Moon shirt. He used to be a skinny pale computer geek. Now he’s a millionaire and getting married. They should have sent you a new shirt.

I disagree on use of cance culture. Only when enough Radical Leftists start feeling its pain will we hear the phrase, “Both sides need to stop!”

I agree with you, Bob. Use the weapons of our foes against them.

However, do so in the most righteous manner possible. There is a huge gap between “cancelling” Governor Death for killing a dozen thousand people and cancelling someone, anyone, for a mean “tweet” they posted a dozen years ago.

I’m Ok with cancelling for petty reasons too. If we want to stop us Normals from getting cancelled over decades old social media posts, it has to stop being fun for The Radical Left to do it. Short of that, they have zero incentive to stop. it’s not like you can reason with them

This is what I like to refer to as “Overrunning their artillery positions and shelling them with their own ammo”

I would be good with cancelling the petty cancel people, but not Leftists as a whole. I would need a thing to point to and say “turnabout is fair play”. The NYT mean girl that got a mention on Tucker Carlson’s show and started screaming harassment when that is her day job is a good example. “You did unto others, so we’ll do unto you.”

Fair point. Given the sheer numbers of Leftists who’ve gone off the deep end it’s easy to forget that there are still sane people who for some reason choose to vote Democrat and deserve s*** liek this.
Which is kind of sad that I would forget that, considering I’m married to one =8^)

I suppose I split people into three kinds, for the most part.

There are the activist Leftists who include those cancelling Karens, the people in positions of power either through a microphone or politics, who richly deservice whatever they get because they are living by the sword and it is only a matter of time until they are not as useful to the Cause (because they are not on top of the Cause, or were, slipped and are now among the Lesser Powers [hello Hillary]).

The Democrat Party members in the party structure either as candidates, office holders or appointed but still retain some amount of sanity. Joe Manchin comes to mind, or Sinema? who voted against some of the latest insane largesses. Local politicians like governors also fit here for me, if they are looking more at their states needs but still pushing the Democrat platform solutions to the problems those ideas created. (Govs like Cuomo who looked more nationally and called for things to happen or tried to soak up the limelight for personal gain, but then had that light shine on their own closets usually fall into the first group. VA’s Northem hoist on his own petard, or Canada’s Trudeau kinda fit that first group as well).

I separate the “regular people” from the pols for a variety of reasons. The people that just vote Democrat for reasons I don’t blame too much. Sometimes they are just drinking the kool aid and the cyanide hasn’t hit them yet or they’re just zombie’ing along voting like their parents and grand parents but not paying attention. Others see the problems in both parties and pick the Dems for certain reasons that might be actually valid. These people I can usually have a conversation with, since they know what is going on and keep themselves informed.

The people that could go in the first group, had they any amount of power, are the shrill harridans, the HOA Karens and the young skulls full of mush stealing yard signs or saying “Socialism would work if WE did it” because they think corporations make money by stealing it from workers instead of in 5 penny increments of profit spread over a few million hamburgers. They are the ones most likely to scream about Trump! and ate all of the lies that top group spewed (but who did not believe what they lied, seeing it just as part of the game), the people wanting to buy a Prius because it makes them look good in front of their neighbors but ignore the coal plant on the other end of the power line (Gore, Kerry and the other Greens know it is all a scam, and buy waterfront houses to prove it). These people you cannot converse with due to the “what they did not reason into they cannot reason out of”. They are fully indoctrinated into the cult and will take some serious reality mugging to break out. Unfortunately most of them will probably take it as martyrdom proving them right.

The phrase “mugged by reality” has been used by many people in a variety of ways, usually to explain how someone that was reliably “liberal” / leftist and outspoken could become quite conservative. I just flipped the works to make it work narratively.
