NASA’s Equity Diversity and Inclusion Working Group (EDIWG) publishes an anti-capitalist, anti-colonialist manifesto which, if followed, would effectively ban the USA from exploration of Mars, our Moon and other planetary bodies. After all, our “extractive capitalism” approach could interfere with evolution of microbes on lifeless worlds. How shall we meet the EDIWG invasion of NASA?

The “mother may I” slimy snakes want to eliminate all that is worth living for on earth and everywhere else. Thereby eliminating all life on earth. If you must ask “mother may I” nothing new will never happen. The first black swan event will be the end of us. Covid-19 was almost that event.
They need to be terminated with extreme prejudice: immediately if not sooner. That is if you love life. If you don’t, do nothing. Death will find you.
My apologies to the few honest and honorable slimy snakes of the world.
Microbes are life. Unless they are in the womb of a human female. How about a little help for the microbes a bit closer to home?
They did the math, and figured out how many social critics we’re going to need on the first colonizing mission to Mars.
Space must embody their greatest fear: A place where no one can hear them complain.
Imagine a church on Mars.
EDIWG watched Avatar and thought it was real.
Why does such an organization exist? Whose wonderful idea was this?
They are boll weevils , “Take a respected institution.Kill it.Gut it.Wear its carcass as a skin suit. And demand respect.”
Thus the Dept of Energy prevents energy exploration, the Dept of Education prevents education, and now NASA is to prevent space exploration. Of course no one voted for this or even knew it existed but why does it go on? Why aren’t they fired on day one of a conservation administration? This is just another part of the swamp or the blob that we voted to get rid of.
And this strongly-worded letter will stop Elon Musk from getting to Mars how? He’ll build a launch platform in international waters if every country in the world outlaws his projects. He’s probably already bought several desert islands as a backup. Those weenies gonna drop a bomb on it?
I am getting sick and tired of the influence these Luddites have on national policy.
So, I am just finishing a reading project. I am on the last book of what can be termed Asimov’s Robot Universe. This starts with I, Robot and continues through the Robot novels, Empire Novels and then the Foundation novels, ending with Foundation and Earth. In the last two stories is the planet GAIA, whose people are a united consciousness that also includes that planet and all its creatures, including the microbes. Asimov spends much time with his protagonists reviewing the merits of GAIA and being an Isolate.
I can’t help but think that these EDIWG hippies read this in the 80s and have latched on to the idea of either forcing GAIA to happen, or just pretending that it did. Then they wrote a screed that confused GAIA with the Prime Directive.
Why do they have funding and a voice? At this point, given how little NASA is doing for real exploration I am in favor of eliminating NASA from the budget. Completely, not just this little band of trolls.
When I was a kid, growing up and watching the moon landings and the rest, I sincerely believed NASA was our key to the galaxy. I never dreamed back then that NASA would become a locked door to manned, useful, commercially driven space exploration.
Now NASA is nothing more than a venue for “pure” science and scientists. By “pure” I do not mean wholly scientific to the exclusion of all else, I mean a vehicle for eggheads to launch sterile probes into space to satisfy their personal curiosity and further their own academic careers — Paid for by public funds.
I see no benefit to mankind of probes landing on asteroids and other planets for “pure science” unless they’re sent out there looking for things to improve the human condition.
I loved Isaac Asimov’s books but as a more likely and useful model of Future History I prefer Robert Heinlein’s D.D. Harriman to Hari Seldon.
So I agree with you and yes, I think NASA has outlived it’s usefulness and should be eliminated. Not only to prevent the damage it’s attempting to do, but to serve as an example of the proper and fitting end to dweebs that find a way to suck sustenance from the public teat.
Love Heinlein. Have read the future history stories multiple times. Hoping that Elon Musk is DD Harriman
Let’s be honest, NASA’s moon plans aren’t likely to happen anyway. Even if they do, they’ll likely be welcomed to the SpaceX moonbase rather than have to do it alone…
I wish this report had come out a year earlier. I would have loved to have seen PDT gather the entire EDIWG for a nice, fancy meeting at the White House. After reviewing the merits of the report, he would turn to the entire group and make his best pronouncement. “You’re All Fired”! That would have been epic.
My thoughts exactly!
You’d think that these weenies would support space exploration so all of the cool people will go away and they can rule over the soy boys in peace
The “weenies” don’t care to rule the soy boys, because even they recognize the soy boys are useless.
The footprint on the moon represents everything that is good about human initiative. I liken these EDWIG fools to the environmentalist morons that spawned from the drug-induced crazes of the 1960’s. Both groups value all others before their own species. They are nothing but examples of all tyrants that have come before them. I suggest that we relegate them to the anonymity of history and ignore their dictates and edicts to progress humanity outward.
YES. They value potential microbes on alien worlds over REAL HUMAN BABIES in the womb, which they even call “potential” human beings.
These people should give their own reparations to our microbes we have colonized with imperialism. I suggest they willingly let themselves stop eating (and killing microbes) let themselves die and naturally rot, thus feeding innumerable microbes. It’s the least they can do. Otherwise, they are hypocrites.
Lizard people you say?
“I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit. It’s the only way to be sure.”
