A lot of conservatives make a mistake when it comes to Fox News. They think of Fox as being ideological and it’s not. It’s commercial. They’re just trying to make a buck like the rest of us.

So it’s not a good idea to just cancel out the biggest conservative media outlet on the planet when they make mistakes.

For instance, remember when Harris Faulkner told Newt Gingritch that “Soros funded prosecutors” were not a topic for discussion a few months ago? Yeah, now that same topic is all over Fox News like white on rice.

Clearly their business model is flexible. Just because they do something today that we don’t like, and they do and I’m not making excuses for them I’m just being realistic here, doesn’t mean they won’t come around eventually.

The more popular something like this D’Souza documentary becomes the harder it is for Fox to ignore it.

What Fox won’t touch today might be a major talking point a couple months from now. Because like it or not, hate Fox or not, a LOT of conservatives get their news and watch opinion pieces on Fox. It’s the only major outlet with the biggest audience in the U.S. Fox may not be ‘ideologically pure’ or cover things you think they ought or the way you think they should, but driving people to CNN and MSNBC isn’t a good move either.

The greatest danger to The Republic right now is cheating from the Left as they attempt to gain a lock on political power. D’Souza’s video is a blow against that. Fox will have to pick it up at the point where it can’t be ignored.
